I agree, in today's world 640 HP is a bit low but it would be hard to extract more HP from a NA motor.

Personally I love the fact that they aren't selling themselves (yet) turbocharging their cars.

Just a matter of time, so might as well do it sooner than later, drop either a turbo or SC in the A and H and bump them up to 800-900 hp no problem without pushing too much boost....I know its easier said than done but it's not going to be much harder than pushing these NA engines to 130 hp/L and beyond spending tons of $ and hours trying to extract 20-30 hp.

its going to be interesting to see what the factory does here. if two competing cars (coming out the same year) have almost a 100hp difference and a 300-400 pound weight difference obviously one car has a big advantage in 1/4 mile, track times, etc.. I'm pretty sure lambo has something brewing behind closed doors. atleast I hope so, cause I'm on the list!

OK ladies and gentlemen - Today I got official confirmation from a high level exec at the local Lambo dealership that the upcoming Superleggera beat the Porsche 918's Nurburgring Nordschleife track record "by several seconds!" Lamborghini would not release the actual time - perhaps they are saving it for the official launch. The car will be shown at Geneva 2017 and first US deliveries will be in August 2017! This information is not hearsay - the dealership exec got this confirmation while in Italy at the factory!

The HP deficit to the McLaren P14 may not matter! The Superleggera is going to be a game changer!

Exactly what I am told. Private viewings in Jan/Feb and shown at Geneva. Also told deliveries start July/August.

As long as Lambo stick to their "outrageous" formula this car will be a winner.

If it's true, that would be phenomenal, but i'm going to remain skeptical for now. Lower power-to-weight, both AWD, similar transmission tech, don't see a massive aero difference. So then then question becomes how did they do it?

I'll give Lambo credit on the SV though, came within 2 seconds of the 918 with less power, more weight, and slower transmission technology.

I heard some new very hi tech aero played a roll.. but the SV is damn impressive for a big car!

I've was told exactly the same thing, also it will be called Performante which I don't like :(

That sounds almost impossible, especially considering the price difference.

Price, locally a S63 Benz is almost twice the price of a Huracan in the States :icon_mrgreen:

I get what you are saying but you get an Ariel Atom and at a race track would run rings around a Lambo/Ferrari/Mac.

The Performante has some cool aero and less weight (I am sure not enough) to go with the monster V10 and that sweet DCT.

TBH I am more excited to see this car than the fact that my SV will be here next month.

Also with only 1 actual run done that wasn't a fully clean lap either...

I any case nw is a great time to be a Lambo fan! I can't wait to see this beast in the flesh!

Not a limited run, it will run in parallel with the 610-4 but will only constitute 10 to 15% of the yearly production run, expect long waiting times for deliveries. I still think they should lock in numbers and not build a tone of them, Lambo still need to learn how to protect their loyal customers with certain perks.

I am pretty sure it's AWD.

I fully concur but unfortunately Lamborghini likely have very little say, if any at all, about its marketing. That takes place at Audi/VAG. VAG poured $$$ into Lambo's factory so it would have the capability to R&D "modern" supercars. The A & the H are the results but to make the bean-counters & shareholders happy, they want to recuperate their investments plus profits on top. The only way to do that is to sell as many cars as they can make them. A sad dilemma for sure and it leaves a bad taste in the mouths of the loyal customers; but it's also a cold hard fact.

This Superleggera/Performante sounds very promising. Let's hope it will look good too (i.e. hope they won't screw it up with that optional aero-package for the standard H which looks very lame).

Your last paragraph scares me, they did come up wth the ugliest looking add-ons, hopefully few body panels will be completely redesigned due to downforce requirements and will make the overall design coherent.

The number one question: WHAT COLOR? :icon_mrgreen:

Lambo is claiming they're capping production at 3500/yearly for both the H and A which I guess is better compared to the total output from Ferrari who are aiming for 9000/yearly by 2019.

Not sure how many H's but I'm assuming with 5 H models and new A for next year the numbers for each H model is going to come down quite a bit. Lambo has said they're building 3500 Urus which will be separate from the 3500 H and A models.

On a side note, I spoke with my dealer last week and he was telling me Lambo has already told them that allocation come next year will be tight.

On a side note, should lambo have to go turbo, I hope they stick an updated version the old Quattro's 5cyl engine in it and not a V6 or V8, so we can still have an awesome sound and with tuning, replicate the Quattro's awesomeness. B)

That will be the day I stop buying new Lambos, I think the Huracan Performante will be the last of the breed before they will kill it with a set of hair dryers , I want one to store away.
