Supercar Ace Report post Posted December 16, 2016 IT"S EPIC. If you're a casual movie goer, you'll have fun as there is plenty of awesome action. If you're a Star Wars fan you'll have a huge nerdgasm the entire time. That final scene I will certainly be seeing it again

I stopped with about 45 minutes left of that one as it was utter shit. I'm happy to see some "semi-original content" for the universe. Hopefully it spurs out some more side-stories and other adventures.

This was is certainly darker and has some very epic action sequences.
NRG x Lambo Report post Posted December 16, 2016 How is there a next SW movie already? so ROGUE ONE, while part of the official story line (canon) of the STAR WARS universe, it isn't the primary episodic trilogy films. so you had so far: PREQUELS: ep1 - the phantom menance ep2 - attack of the clones ep3 - revenge of the sith CLASSIC SAGA: ep4 - a new hope ep5 - empire strikes back ep6 - return of the jedi NEW DISNEY TRILOGY: ep7 - the force awakens ep8 - sometime DEC 2017 ep9 - sometime DEC 2019 the "DISNEY MACHINE" plans to make sub-story films every other year in between the main episodes. so ROGUE ONE is the filler film between the production times of ep7 and 8. but in terms of STORY sequence, ROGUE ONE happens AFTER episode 3 (quite some time), and IMMEDIATELY before episode 4 (literally right before). almost like episode 3.5. hopefully that makes sense. NRG x Lambo Report post Posted December 16, 2016 COOLS and NOT COOLS (without spoilers): COOL: - storm troopers can actually shoot and hit stuff - good guys can get hurt too - ROGUE ONE teams are pretty bad ass - VADER scenes are awesome - cool seeing the connection and lead into "A New HOPE" NOT COOLS: - lack of john williams fanfare music - no opening TITLE CRAWL (wasn't a HUGE deal... but its SUCH a part of STAR WARS... LOL) - storm troopers still have idiotic dialogues that make them look like dummies

LOL) - I agree...but I also like that they didn't do it..it help separate the "main story" from the off shoot movies. - storm troopers still have idiotic dialogues that make them look like dummies - Yes, but it was fun I also liked how the robot in the film was pretty much an assh*le instead of being "cute" or just goofy. WheelsRCool Report post Posted December 17, 2016 WOW, Darth Vader is in this film! I will definitely have to see this!! I had heard that this film is about the team Vader mentions in Episode 4 that stole the data or something (I forget the exact details). EDIT: I think the plans to the Death Star

I ask because I know some films aren't really made specifically for IMAX but they will show them in it to milk them.
Fortis Report post Posted December 17, 2016 I know that Fortis will definitely be seeing this movie. Why? I am really not into these kind of movies, Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, etc. I love comedy.
kinnsella Report post Posted December 17, 2016 It was as good as Episodes 4 and 5. I really like the way they tied it directly into Episode 4. Episodes 1,2,3,6 and 7 were awful.

VCR Report post Posted December 17, 2016 Why? I am really not into these kind of movies, Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, etc. I love comedy. I was wondering about Wheel's comment too. I guess he may be making reference to your house which, if that's the case, he obviously got it wrong.
VCR Report post Posted December 17, 2016 Not enough of a SW fan to actually lining up to see it but I guess I'll see it eventually. No John Williams' fanfare would be a letdown but it doesn't affect the movie I guess. The prequels were duds but at least every movie seems to be in line with one another. I certainly hope any of the spin-offs won't adopt the Star Trek way where alternate universes in the same or different timeline are involved and the same story gets retold in a complete different manner thus screwing up those who are not nerdy Trekkies. I am well aware that Fortis has no interest in these films, and that his first (and likely last one) that he saw, The Force Awakens, he did not like at all. So it was meant as light sarcasm. Like if say someone posted a picture of some 19th century classical architecture home for sale, and I said, "I know Fortis will definitely be making an offer for this." As for his home, I have no idea what the reference is there.

Smash Boy Report post Posted December 17, 2016 I'm like Fortis.....no interest in the Star Wars franchise, and mild at best interest in the super hero stuff. Don't know whether that's a good or bad thing. So many enjoy it, feel like I'm missing out.

I only have a passing interest in Star Wars and the superhero franchises as well as far as being a fan of the franchises, but the movies themselves I still find enjoyable. Don't know whether that's a good or bad thing. So many enjoy it, feel like I'm missing out. Super Hero movies can be fun, but for me if they're good then they are good...but I have no real special attachmanet to them (except for the Christopher Nolan Batman films). Star Wars however is it's own special kind of magic...you really need to see the originals (Episodes 4-6), especially the unmolested original versions. They just have some special magic and sens e of adventure that make them really excellent stories and entertaining at the same time.
