Thanks for sharing the photos, Charlie. I am wondering the same thing. Why not take the goat herders along for awhile or maybe tie them up such that they could eventually escape but enough to still have bought some time? Is there a tactical explanation for not doing something like that or did they just not have time to weigh those options?

I don't think you'll enjoy the movie as much if you haven't read the book. Just my opinion. It's an intense story.

I went to see Lone Survivor last night after having read the book. I was prepared for another poor interpretation of a book but, I have to say, I felt that it was pretty well done. There were some Hollywood embellishments but I got the sense that it was pretty close to the real story. At least the story that we have been told. Has anyone else seen it? What were your thoughts? I didn't think Wahlberg was particularly good but the others were great. Trailer for anyone who doesn't know what I am talking about:

My $0.02 from the "child's perspective" -- my father passed relatively suddenly when I was 16. He had bought more life insurance than my mom had realized at the time and it has since allowed her to work four days a week, keep the house, make home improvements, replace her car when it was time, etc. I can't tell you how much of a relief it has been for her to know that he provided for us in that way and she wouldn't have to give up the house, etc. It was one of my dad's final lessons to me and one that I will always follow closely. So, to put it cynically, if you think you have enough, or if you think you're "healthy and don't need it yet," sorry, but you don't, and you do. Edit: For your reference, Dad was 46 when he passed.

I mean, that all sounds pretty damn good to me. CCBs standard...dual clutch...LED lights...I'm not sure what else we could have realistically expected. It's also the base first-year model. Imagine a 2004 Gallardo now. This is that for the Huracan generation. And it's a damn good starting point.
