  1. what about a G55? My DD has been a Range Rover for years now, and always liked it. last winter in colorado I got to drive one in the snow and was impressed.
  2. my problem with cars like this is that they are more less supped up versions of lesser (cheaper) cars. sure car people will know the difference, but will anyone else?
  3. I still think the street fighter is the best looking bike ducati makes
  4. but with out advertisers there is no money in the business of professional sports in the US. the biggest sports in the US have the biggest advertisers behind them NFL, NBA, and NASCAR. It has taken the MLS 15 years to come around, but they finally have thanks to some big advertisers. and its not like soccer was anything new to americans, I am willing to bet that many more americans have played organized soccer growing up then played basketball or football.
  5. american football is big in the US because of advertising, it makes up a good portion of the pro game. this is why soccer has had such a hard time taking hold in the US, because they do not stop the game for commercials. I think rugby would have a similar problem.
  6. we are using a 19th century education system to teach in the 21st century. we put more money then any other country into education, but we pay our teachers crap.
  7. I have watched both teams all year long, barca has the talent, but united has the manager. I think it will be a low scoring game 1-0 or even end in a draw with a shoot out. Im going to go with United!
  8. I like the Espada, its big, bad and sounds mean
  9. working in the film business, I can say its not that unusual. my guess would be that in any other city this would not be a big deal, new yorkers just like to bitch.
  10. the muscle car boom was due in part to babyboomers demand for the cars they fell in love with as kids. By that same logic, one could assume that exotic cars from the 80s would make a come back. air cooled porsches always seem to hold their values well, though many are still under 50K. I would also suggest 80s era BMW M-models, M3s, M5s, and M6s. they are not quite 50K yet but they are starting to creep north.
  11. well not just torque, what does the hp/weight ratio look like on both cars 1000 RPM prior to their peak? again I am not trying to argue with you, peak numbers and ratios on tell part of the story, I would be interested to see power charts on both cars.
  12. but that only measures at the peak of the power band, what do those numbers look like lower in the power band?
  13. couple things: the gear change is so much faster and smoother then the LFA It did not seem like the driver of the porsche was all the way on it
  14. It looks very british... as long as it comes with a proper gear box, I would drive it
  15. I think thats a good move by renault
  16. I carry a Walther P99, its slightly bigger then the PPK (which I also like) but I am more accurate with it. before that I had a glock, but the glock was heavier and when you carry all day a few ounces make a big difference. never had to use it. for home defense I have a 20 gauge remington compact shotgun, I have had to pull it out a few times, caught a few people snooping around my property, never shot it at anyone yet.
  17. I am in Dallas right now doing a couple shows this weekend for the Super Bowl, this city is in a lot of trouble, there is still a thick sheet of ice covering everything. some of the outdoor tents and stuff they had set up yesterday were destroyed by the ice, both my shows are at inside venues, but now I am being told that they can not get people in to set everything up because no one can drive on the streets.
  18. I think the return of KERS will put the teams that have used it successfully in the past at the front of the grid (Ferrar,i Mclaren) I expect mercedes to be much stronger this year.
  19. becksspeedster.com makes a very good 550 syder, they build their own chassis (not a VW) and they offer several engine options air and water cooled, 911 engine, and subaru sti engine.
  20. I am a little surprised the Ferrari ranked as high as it did, its obvious that they were looking for the best "driver's" car and the GT3 RS is just that, but I have heard so many people complain in recent years that Ferrari has drifted away from the purist aspect of a true "driver's" car. Now I have not driven the 458 yet, though I have driven many GT3s (also raced GT3 cup cars), so I may be a little biased, but the F430 didn't come close to the GT3 in terms of being a "driver's" car.
  21. I got to drive a Z8 shortly after they came out, and it was a great driving car with plenty of power. but I dont think the car had the impact BMW was expecting, and sort of went against the grain of everything else they were designing at BMW with regards to technology and options. so I am not sure that this particular car will ever be highly valued as a collectors car, because the car never really made an impact. The first generation M3 was a game changer for BMW and revolutionized the industry, and because of that those cars have appreciated in value, and are highly sot after.
  22. I have had my Semaster GMT for several years now, its with out a doubt the best watch I have ever owned. I have had several rolex watches and have never been impressed with their quality, I have had a couple cheaper Tags with out any problem. I am also a huge fan of IWCs
