  1. Do you have a battery tender, or a battery charger? Most battery charges can be purchased pretty inexpensively, and they almost all have an alternator check function. Most wont tell you the voltage, but will tell you if it is pushing the right amount with an indicator light. Its an easy thing to check. It sounds like that is the culprit, especially since you said you changed the battery and it was beginning to go flat.
  2. The problem is, legally, in most states, you cannot keep the deposit, no matter the contractual agreement. Most deposits are given on a credit card, and the deposit can be rescinded there as well. I don't have a problem with someone buying the car, registering the car, paying the taxes, and then flipping it. That is their right as a purchaser, at that point you actually own the commodity. If you are merely speculating on a position, I am not keen. You are not a stakeholder at that point, especially in the event that your deposit is refundable (even if the contract says it is not, as that is usually not enforceable). I am not sure what the situation is in Australia. I don't know how it works, legally, in your state or country. It may be different. That said, even at that point, it is very rare for a dealer to try and enforce the contract, as the legal fees to chase it are usually too high, and the chance of losing is equally so. The market for these cars gets devalued due to this practice. It creates a glut of inventory. When a car, or position, is in the hands of speculators, they usually have little interest in holding the position, or inventory (if they can even execute on buying the car when it actually comes in). What happens then is they get scared, or cannot afford to hold, so they dump it into the market at a reduced cost, thus causing a drop in the overall market value (I have never thought that one car does a market make, but in the eyes of buyers, if one car sells for a certain amount, automatically they are all worth that same amount). I know you have a better handle on this portion of the discussion than most, me included. I think the manufacturer has caught on though, thus the reason that the cars are so expensive now. The manufacturer has figured out what true market value of the car is, and created an MSRP that will not sustain the immense overage that was being asked on the open market. Example being, you used to be able to get 100-150k over MSRP for a 430-458 spider when the car was new/demand was high. Then Ferrari inflated the MSRP of the cars to a point where it was not palatable to grab one (when MSRP is north of 350-400k for a well equipped car, it is near impossible to ask near 500k for one). Hence the reason a 430 spider was in the 230k range new, and a 458 spider with similar equipment (only 3-5 years later) was in the 350k range. The 488 is now in the 400k range for a spider that is well equipped.
  3. PErsonally, I would buy a last year V8TT. 2004 Anniversary car. Find one in yellow. They run like a beast, are relatively reliable, and handle amaingly well. The newer style wheels really set it off as well. I know the S4 is a great little car, but I have never been in one that wasn't down and out for something. All that said, agree with Allan, lovely car with a ton of character. Side note, tough car if you are a big guy. Fortunate for me, I am just the right size, much above 6 feet and it gets super tight, especially in the pedal box.

    Kim Jong Un

Looks like Kim sent one down range, across Japan's bow. Watch out world.
  5. I agree on the market and making the money, but I think the dealer should be the one making it. I always loved it when speculators would place a deposit, then when the car came in, they would bounce on the order and leave the dealer hanging if the car wasn't as hot as anticipated. Happens all the time. If I knew someone was speculating and then going to flip the car for cash, I would have to seriously consider whether I would allow that to happen. If you want to buy the car, pay the sticker and the taxes, then try to flip for a profit, all good. You want to speculate on an order slot and try to sell that slot, I wouldn't be cool with that.
  6. So very sorry to hear about your siblings man. I cannot imagine the pain if I lost my little sister. I hope you can find some comfort, I truly do. As for the rest of the post, this is the most relatable post I have read in a while. I have no punched out the other side yet, but I know exactly how you feel. Thanks for sharing this, I know it likely has helped some folks, and inspired some as well. Very glad you are on the right track and making it happen.
  7. That would be the first I have heard of it. Matter of fact, I think on the first one that I bought for my client, we had a pressure sender for the oil go bad. It had to be replaced. The engine I thought had to come out for it. It was pretty crazy, and thankfully covered under warranty. No new engine was installed though.
  8. I honestly thought they had installed it upside down.
  9. I honestly thought they had installed it upside down.
  10. So a 2015 is worth around 220k retail from a Lambo store. That is with good miles, and good colors. Maybe a touch less. HOw much do you bump for a 2016 with 2015 mileage and a gross body kit. I don't know. That said, I have a client that in the near future is moving off his 2015 in white with black and red interior. Not sure what your time frame is or if you are dead set on orange.
  11. 2004 E Gear car with 47k miles. Does the local Lamborghini repair place serve free coffee and doughnuts and have a loaner program?
  12. I wouldn't be surprised if this guy is getting his stores "demo" as his car. That happens quite a bit. As for the dealer lying, one of the things that happened when I was ordering cars was they got made out of order. It wasn't because they wanted to mess up my order base, but they make the chassis and then paint them in a certain order. They may for example have painted yellow chassis' first, so they will attempt to make yellow cars first. The chassis (at least how it used to work) would be painted and left on pallets in the back of the factory. They would pull them down and build them. It may be different now, and to a degree I am sure it is, but I am sure it plays some small role in how they roll off the line. They also give build slots to the stores, to which they assign customers (or what they used to call "players"), that had a certain date range attached to them (like week 32 or something like that). Its been a while, so don't take my info as law, but there is a bit of an enigma wrapped in a riddle with how those things pop off the production line, and their system is likely far less archaic than it used to be.
  13. Acutally, the car I was offered, and passed on, was a Mansory kit car with 12k on it. Was supposed to be a super nice car, but I just couldn't do anything with the miles. I was told the kit was super nice. It was traded at a California dealership. Sorry, I thought it was the same one.
  14. Was it the red car with like 15k miles on it?
  15. Once a story car, always a story car. While disclosure isn't required in the used car world, it is ethically the thing to do. Deal with it up front, put the info out there, price accordingly, and you won't have problems down the road. I have always been leery of these chop shop jobs putting things together. Kinda like the Carrera GT that got turned into the blue Avalanche car. It got wrecked to fcuk and back by Dennis Kennedy at the old Exotics Motorcars of Palm Beach or whatever the hell it was called. Car was being taken for a PPI by Dennis at a Porsche store, and he fast and furious'd the thing into the wall on I-95. To hide that wreck, he built it into a Gemballa car. Theft reports can come from a lot of different things. Someone could have "borrowed it" and the owner called the cops and reported it stolen. Once the report is generated, it is there forever. That said, that is certainly the minority. Also, I wouldn't buy a car (personally) that had bagged suspension, not on a car like this. You have to add quite a few systems to make that work, you have to cut and splice and move things around, and generally change a bit of stuff. That is just Pandora's box to me. You know who you might ask about this car, Kevin at UGR. He is right around the corner from these guys, I wouldn't doubt if he knows them. Also, find out who did the Liberty Walk kit, and see if they can tell you what the car looked like on arrival. I have a feeling those fender flares are there for a very specific reason, just like that Carrera GT I mentioned.
  16. If it were me, and it isn't, I wouldn't buy a 2012 without it coming from a Lamborghini store and carrying with it a CPO warranty. I don't advocate those warranties a ton on most cars, but this particular car I certainly would. Everyone is leary of the car for a reason, I would hate to see you be the guy that finds out why. I doubt 100k would be what an engine would cost, but the engine isn't what I would be worried about, like emanon said. I would be more worried about big ancillary stuff, computers, egear pumps/accumulator, transmission failure....
  17. Oh man! Congrats, that car is so amazing. I love it. Can't wait to hear about the experience. You couldn't have bought it from a better dealership either. Great guys.
  18. That logic isn't erratic at all. Makes sense actually. Great car choice by the way, I love the Ghost. Nice thing about Rolls product, it looks fantastic with aftermarket wheels. Interested to see what route you go with it.
  19. What would you like to know?
  20. As many places, we have a ton of mountains in North Georgia. When the weather is clear, you get a ton of motorcyclists heading up to rip around. Many of them are great folks, they have a good time, ride at 7/10ths and only when there is no traffic. Then you have the guys in full leathers, with their Repsol stickers and urethane pucks on their knees, trying to drag it like Rossi. It is pretty easy for everyone to occupy the same space, but often those guys take such insane risks, ride with wreckless abandon, and act as if the road is a personal race track. Coming back from the mountains is worse than riding in them half the time. You're coming down the highway, minding your own business, and then you get 5-10 of them splitting lanes (illegal in GA), riding in the emergency lane, close cutting cars giving them chin music, but God forbid you change a lane while they are barreling down on you and one of them almost kills themselves, then they turn on you and harass you. I don't understand the mentality, this "might makes right" use of force on other road users. If there is open highway and you want to fcuking rip down it at 150 miles per hour, I of all people have zero problem with it, it is a victimless crime, but when the road is populated with a wide disparity of drivers that are inherently occupying all lanes, you have to back off of it. This seems to be prevalent when they are in a large swarm, and as we saw with the family in the Range Rover from a year or two ago, they try to create angst so that they can harass someone and scare them.
  21. FWIW, I would buy a set of factory Hercules wheels instead of painting your factory black wheels. It is always good to keep the original wheels with the car, that came with the car. You could buy a set of silver Hercules wheels I am sure, have them painted that awesome looking titanium color from that Aventador above, and call it a day. Your wheels were an option from the factory, and they are on the sticker, so I would consider leaving them stock. Just my .02 and that might be all it is worth.
  22. Go see Curtis at Palmer Dodge. I know they will get a heavy allotment for the truck, since they are a big Viper center. He is a buddy of mine that used to work as the head detailer at Ferrari of Atlanta. He is one of their head sales guys now.
  23. What am I missing here? I don't get it.
  24. If they can find Shia LeBouf in a fcuking cabin in the woods, they are gonna finds these dopes. I would not want the likes of Reddit or 4Chan or the like coming down on me. That would be like the wrath of God on earth.
