  1. To my knowledge, unless things have changed, you cannot turn a cross drilled rotor. The cutter will catch. Also, with cross drilled, you have to be careful when you get light on the rotors, as many times the cross drilled holes will start to crack. You should check that. I am curious though as to how you warped them. If you were on the street, just driving hard with another car, I would be shocked that you warped them there. Question, when you got done drilling it on the street with the other car, did you within a short time period pull over and park? You have to be very careful applying the parking brake after a hard session on the brakes, as you can impress the parking brake into the rotor, causing them to shudder badly. Just an idea, as when you track a car, one thing they teach you when you come into the pits is to not apply the parking brake for this reason, and to only leave the car in gear on a level surface.
  2. That isn't available anymore. I pay 1k for a shit plan through Humana or something. It is a grand, 5k deductible, and crap coverage. I used to pay $500 a month, straight from BCBS, and it was rockstar.
  3. Man, I know this sounds heartless, but I am not rolling in money. I do ok, I have a decent life, I have a happy family and they are healthy (wife does have a pre existing condition, but we were always easily covered), but they are my primary responsibility. I am happy to help people, I do all the time, but not at the expense of my family having what they need. I was put on this earth to be their caretakers, their shepherds, not the rest of the people out there that are (for the most part) unwilling to make it happen for themselves and require people to fund their lives. I am just not sure what problem we were fixing. The healthcare system might need work, but for the middle class that was paying their way, keeping themselves somewhat healthy and working hard, they were doing fine. Did we have some problems like non covered pre existing conditions, people that blew past a lifetime maximum, sure we did, but fix that problem by itself. For some reason we felt the need to burden the rest of the country with the needs of the few. I don't appreciate that. As for the system in Canada, and what Szabo said, that is what worries me about socialized healthcare. That is why I shy away from single payer. Raj, what do physicians think about it? How do you guys feel about the system moving in that direction? I just don't understand how healthcare is a right. I don't know anyone that should have a right to the hard work of another person, for free. That makes no sense to me. Although, obviously, it isn't free when the rest of the working class pays 50% of their income in taxes.
  4. You are absolutely correct. What a way to shit on the middle class. How the program isn't a redistribution of wealth, I will never know.
  5. Many people tend to shy away from 2012 model cars. They had some issues, some glitches, and there were some updates to the 2013+ cars that you can't really replicate in the 2012 model. Also, many people fear owning an Aventador out of warranty. That is what I found when I sold the 2012 that I had listed.
  6. Yep, I suffered the same fate. Everything was going great, then whammmo, the ACA hit and I got fucked. No way around it, I got screwed.
  7. California is more expensive. That is a little high, but it depends on the plan that you have. That said, before the ACA kicked in, I had a gold plan with BCBS with a 1k deductible and 25 dollar copay, and the cost to my family (2 adults, 3 kids) was 485 a month. Now it is 1k for 5k deductible, 35 copay, worse coverage (they call it a bronze plan). ACA is a nightmare, but we have to make sure that the kiddos can stay on their folks plan till they are 26 years old! Last I checked, that isn't really a "kid".
  8. Shit color. I had a client that wanted to order one, I begged him off of it and he got Pearl Yellow. He is still thanking me to this day.
  9. Far more rampant than anyone thinks it is.
  10. The FAA Response was kinda funny. Ford asked for landing instruction, repeated back the runway. When he landed on the taxiway, he asked the tower "was that 737 supposed to be under me like that?" The response from the tower was "you landed on the taxiway." He is gonna be in some serious shit for that. To my recollection, we had that happen here at Hartsfield a few years ago with Delta pilot landing on a taxiway. Unreal.
  11. Tragic. Amazing how these things keep catching on fire on impact in these crashes. RIP to the two occupants of the car. 2 Dead at Las Vegas race track
  12. Fire? NUKE IT FROM SPACE! Only way to be certain.
  13. I think that is the best picture you have taken so far. It looks really cool. Good job cutting out the pubic hair and blood stain, I think it was sending the wrong message.
  14. Does Panama report to CarFax? A clean carfax does not indicate a clean car. SOmeone mentioned runs in the paint, likely it has been hit or crashed.
  15. Nice find Cappy. Good read. Another reason I am a McLaren fan.
  16. Wasn't aware they didn't own the Porsche store, I thought they did as they were in the same parking lot. My mistake. As for them sending inventory back and forth, that works for about 5 minutes, then they take a trade they are really right in and decide to retail it. Pisses off the dealer next door, they then hate each other. Could be simple, they usually make it stupid.
  17. Warren Henry Auto Group. They own both franchises.
  18. Haha! Careful with the lightbulb analogy, one of our moderators is a big incandescent guy
  19. Kinda weird that a Lamborghini dealership is wholesaling a Lamborghini SV. That makes me scratch my head.
  20. You likely need to condition the seals. They are rubberized, and with the weather changes and the less humid air, they could be slightly dry. I am not sure if Lamborghini recommends a specific treatment for them, but I am sure you can use any silicone based treatment and it should solve it. Also, make sure that it is latching 100% tightly. Could the latch be slightly loose? As with Fortis, I cannot stand having irregular noises in a car, I hear them all and they drive me batshit.
  21. Don't be fooled, 911R isn't bringing that kind of coin. The whole manual thing is a hype, at least I think so. You can still buy the normal 911 in a manual, and with the new turbo motor, is faster than the previous 911S by a wide margin. I know that at least one 911R here in the states traded hands back of 500k for a white car. I know of a yellow one I can buy and sell for back of 700k without trying (if it is still available). A lot of money for that shifter.
  22. What he said. Honestly, awful to deal with.
