  1. I don't get Ford, or a lot of other manufacturers for that matter. Why not keep building the car? 10 years, whatever, like the Veyron or Gallardo. Everyone gets one! You can never correct for time and buyers wanted it today, but if everyone that wanted a FGT got allocated one at MSRP, there wouldn't be as big a flipper/broker market and you wouldn't need all these additional conditions and screenings and documents and so on. Also, you've pour all this capital into R&D, manufacturing, safety, labour unions, transportation, global emissions compliance, etc. all to have WWE superstar and legend John Cena profit from the effort? I'm sure there will be an exclusivity comment, but again, if I was Ford, I'd be more motivated by profit. Porsche had to cut CGT production short. That car does not suffer from exclusivity or a flooded market today. Wasn't the 2005 FGT a similar story, or were those hard to get as well?
  2. Anyone know if the 1:5 is due to production (i.e. forged carbon) constraints, or is it simply the corporate calculated demand / target? Reason I ask is given the relatively small premium over a 610-4, I could see the demand being greater than 1:5 (probably closer to 1:3 or 1:2). If the demand is there, i'm sure Lambo will fill it, assuming forged carbon production can keep up. Lambo just produced it's 9,000th Huracan in ~4 years of production (and 7,000th Aventador for those of you following). Early years don't account for the Spyder and a slow ramp in production. So ~500 coupes and 500 spyder Performantes annually once full production is underway seems reasonable from a market demand perspective given the way they have priced it, maybe a hair less.
  3. Well, exciting times are ahead. Never thought there would be enough of a market / demand for multiple billet engine solutions, but it appears there are 3 now in both the GTR and Lambo communities.
  4. I would guesstimate about 3000 chp as well, +/- 5% or maybe a hair more. ETS ran 255 and has been relatively public about the power they are making (dyno video). Sure there is drag, frontal area, friction, traction and a whole bunch of other variables that come into play, but I feel at that level, the ability to push through air becomes the biggest hurdle, so I'd have to assume power levels are relatively close. I'd be surprised if it's more, and if anything would assume it's a little less due to superior aero. Let's go with 2,950 chp. Final answer.

    5000hp

Progress generally follows more linear trends. High water mark on the v10 is 2500 whp or so? Maybe heading to 3000 whp with all the billet goodies. I'm sure we'll see 3XXX for years, and then maybe 4XXX for years before someone comes along and gets to 5K (if it ever even gets to that point). That's a nice way of saying that Extreme Tuners is BS. Took them a decade or so to get the Evo record and start backing up their claims. They aren't going to double UGR overnight. We're talking 10+ years as a best case scenario for even a reputable shop to get there. Anyone remember the Devil Sixteen?
  6. Well said, and agreed. In the $1M+ realm there are better (more unique, technologically advanced, powerful, etc...) cars out there and Lamborghini is lagging. Have said that, most of the Lambo 'special editions' are in the double digit numbers, whereas the others you mentioned are triple digit volumes. So, the manufacturer can invest more in up front development costs knowing it will be amortized over larger volumes. That and Lambo sold every single one (well almost, you never really see the supposed 20 Sesto's they made, or all the Veneno roadsters). So easy business case, relatively low cost re-design and find 2 - 40 individuals willing to pay up. Layer in Dieselgate and I don't see a unique car for some time (maybe the 918 replacement but that's it). Chiron will be as good as it gets (which is pretty damn good). At some point their legacy will out live them. Enzo, Ferry, Ferrucio are all no longer with us, but their legacy lives on. Both Koenigsegg (23) and Pagani (25) have been around for decades, so they are not as young as they seem, just the proliferation has been more recent. Give them both another decade and the legacy will be well established. Christian is fairly young and they both love cars and started in the business to follow their passion. Couple decades in I highly doubt they'll change it up given they are finally bearing the fruits of their labour.
  7. I respectfully disagree. I think flying is the ONE area where more wealth would actually have a meaningful impact in my life. Emirates, Etihad, SA 1st are beyond compare, I'll give you that, but the one thing I think that's huge in private aviation is the convenience. At least in the US, if you are flying commercial, you still have to go through security, still could potentially get an enjoyable 'pat down' where they get a little too close to your genitals, you still will wait in line for security, still a line even for the top boarding group, you'll still sit in a lounge with other rich (but not wealthy) "commoners". A far cry from rolling up to your private jet, in your Bentley, walking straight on, no security, no lounge, no line, no pat-down, and taking off minutes later. Telling the pilot you want to change course mid-flight and head to your other island instead. Personally i'm just jaded when it comes to flying, but that is truly the one big area I think having an extra $50MM would actually make a difference in my current life. The rest on that list I can likely do without.
  8. Wanted to chime in an say A+ thread. Always enjoy reading about other's mentalities about life, wealth, privacy, etc... So, thank you to those that have contributed.
  9. Messed up. The wife cheated on the husband and he's the one that ends up dead. Life is f**ked sometimes.
  10. So that there can be a big fancy new car reveal at the Frankfurt Auto Show!!
  11. To me the Spyder design doesn't work well with the ALA rear wing (and curious how the aero is affected). I think if you want to go fastest, you get a Performante coupe and if you want to have the cleanest design, you go with a 580 or 610 Spyder. A convertible 'track focused' car never made sense to me, but that's just my 2 cents.
  12. FWIW the first spy shots appeared in early January, before the Performante coupe was officially released Performante Spyder spy shots You mean like the Gallardo? =) I read recently somewhere that every year there will be a 'special' edition like the Huracan Avio or Aventador Miura (i.e. mostly colour treatments). But as far as the Huracan goes, I think this will be it. - RWD Coupe - RWD Spyder - AWD Coupe - AWD Spyder - Track oriented coupe - Track oriented spyder Limited editions: - Annual Avio type edition (like the Gallardo before it, bicolore, tricolore, etc, etc) - Limited edition STS/SC type car at the end of the pre-facelift, and one more at the end of the Huracan run
  13. Sweet. Jesus. Perfect car for the pump gas nationals.
  14. Peter, had a few questions about this as i'm getting interested in roll racing after attending 2K (which was killer, i'm glad I was convinced into going). 1. How is the 65mph or less verified? Is there a radar gun / sensors to determine speed at that 'exact spot' (which i'm assuming is near the light). 2. This applies to all roll race events, but as this type of racing grows, couldn't some type of sensor system be setup up to eliminate the human factor? In drag racing there seems very little argument at the end of the race, it's all timed and verifiable. With roll racing, I sometimes read about unfair starts, uneven speeds, sling-shoting, the light guy messing up, etc, etc... If you had multiple sensors set up in the staging zone to measure speeds, distance between two cars, an algorithm could be used to determine a go/no-go condition. It could also determine which driver was at fault for not staging properly, and eliminate a lot of the bs. Is this possible or am I missing something in terms of the process?
  15. She use to be hot but ya I don't know wtf happened. Gone of the way of many an instagram model I suppose.
  16. Agreed. FWIW, I'm mainly going off the fact that it's Alpha Logic, and the same car ran 7.057 @ 206. Picking up 42 mph and change in the back (probably had to be more due to the launch / 60' / tires) would certainly be in the realm of the possible. That being said, I imagine on the inside the car doesn't look drastically different than the Alpha G.
  17. This is a bit over the top. I never understood the GTR or frankly Lambo hate. It would be very dull if there wasn't competition. But a few facts. In terms of fastest and quickest 1/4, the GTR is a 6.93, MPH record is 213mph and the Huracan at 7.8, and the MPH record at 187 (?) The GTR currently holds the outright 1/2 mile record, beating UGR's 247 at 248. The mile record is now M2K's Ford GT at 293mph. The Lambos currently do not hold any records. Now that your blood is boiling, UGR, DP, Heffner, etc... build street cars. The fastest STREET GTRs, like Unabomber's (full weight, A/C, NAV, glass windows, etc, etc) run high 7s. That is what a 2R has run as well. That would be street car to street car IMHO. X packages are starting to head in the direction of 'not-so' street car with the different transmission (if i'm not mistaken it's not an upgraded OEM unit like the 'R' packages, please correct me if i'm wrong). When UGR has the DCT running in the X packages, that will be a different story, but that has not happened yet, and we should try and deal with the present. Having said all that, before everyone errupts, the Huracan is a superior platform, and ultimately, if the competition out there continues to push the platform, Lambo's will likely regain most of the above records, and will continue to dominate roll race events like 2K, TI, etc... Less weight, bigger displacement, German engineering and maybe most importantly UGR's secret sauce are all formidable opponents.
  18. Beautiful build Kevin! The UR# is not necessarily built sequentially correct? i.e. UR10 (in the case) can be built after UR15?
  19. There are street GTRs that drove to the track, ran high 7s, and drove home, but low 7s, high 6s (Alpha G) is a different story. Looking at speeds a lot of the delta is coming in the front half, which means a good launch, which wreaks havoc on the transmission, differentials, axles, etc. Very interested to see what UGR and others do here on the Lambo platform. Looks like UGR and OB have the fever!
  20. She looks a lot like Jennifer Lawrence. I'm having a hard tell telling the difference.
  21. Are Lambos the most replica-ed cars? They have to be right? Maybe that and the Cobra?
  22. Dope video ASS put together on the run: And credit to ETS and T1 too for pushing the limits. ETS was chasing the 6 HARD. They were at 7.01 back in November and have been at it since. I lost count of how many parts they destroyed in the process. All part of the game. So much dedication from that crew to be in the running. I have massive respect all 3 shops and teams. It's been amazing to watch and follow over the past few years. And lastly, Gidi's run was insanity. All the GTR records that were coming close were north of 200mph (record sits at 213). When everyone saw the trap on Gidi's run, NO ONE thought he had it. Not even Gidi as he was hitting the limiter in 5th and wasn't happy with the run. Then everyone saw the time and you saw the reaction in the video. So cool to be there in person, it was absolutely insane. It took a lot to get the platform from 7s to 6s. Really interested to see what UGR and the other shops do on the Huracan platform. I'm not sure if it's physically possible, but if UGR does it at full weight with a DCT and street tires I will be speechless. The GTRs in the low 7s and the Alpha G are bordering on being called a GTR at this point. The full weight street cars are still in the upper 7s mostly.
