  1. I came home one day, opened the garage and found my old jeep cj7 had started itself (alarm short), it was in gear and it took off, ran over my moped, over a dirt bike, pushed another dirtbike through the wall and came to rest one inch from my diablo before it died and the battery went dead. I was gone for twenty minutes and it happened in that short window. weird.
  2. those kit cars are pretty tough! kinda impressive
  3. i've had a boner for 6 months
  4. southern New Mexico. Cloudcroft to be exact. This particular race is in my local area. It was a Super D, 12 miles long. The bike I was riding is a Intense Uzzi, with a Totem 40mm fork. I also have a Intense M9 for the full downhill races
  5. You are racing over pretty sharp rocks, mostly pool ball to softball sized. The video doesnt really capture how rocky it is. The front tire got cut, plugged it the first time (running tubeless), then put a tube in it the 2nd time. Its a strange kind of race, where they let everybody go together. Most of em are timed, and you go one at a time to avoid the bottlenecks.
  6. heres a link to some helmet cam footage of me getting my ass kicked last weekend. Top section gps was about 25mph most of the time, bottom section 30 mph
  7. I dont regret selling mine. I do regret selling my countach. The thing I hated most about the Diablo was the silly amount of attention it drew. I got to the point I would only fuel it up late at night at remote gas stations and drive it on quiet little roads to avoid the dipshits. I got divorced, lost my paid house, a large amount of cash, and the economy being what it is, the motorcycle industry is kinda in the toiletl So, I sold My Diablo, pooled all my resources, built another, bigger, better house and Got a Lotus Esprit to tide me over. I actually enjoy the lotus more.
  8. so much hate. I really like it. The Estoque also
  9. I have/had the same thing. Unbelievable pain, couldnt sleep, left arm atrophied. 12mm herniation c5/c6. Was slightly bad and a extremely rough adjustment made it way worse. Started neck decompression therapy 3 times a week at a proper physical therapy facility under the advice of a neurosurgeon. In one month I could sleep again, two months work again, three months ride a motorcycle again. After 3 months I purchased the exact same machine that they used on me in PT (ebay). And I now treat myself when the need arises. After a year I had small pain but it was totally livable and started lifting weights, very lightly at first. After 3 months of lifting weights....no more day to day pain. The neurosurgeon told me it could take up to a year to get better and it did. NM spine in albuquerque told me I was screwed and could not have a normal life, ever. And to avoid surgery at all costs. The Neurosurgeon said Neck decompression fixes 90 percent of his patients. I now see a Very gentle Chiropracter, work out, and decompress when I need to. One of my acquaintances had same issue. Opted for surgery, against my extremely wilfull persuasions. Walked into surgery, woke up next day, couldnt feel legs or left arm. Back in emergency surgery, 5 hours, lost 5 pints of blood, 3 months of living in a assisted living facility with daily Physical therapy to teach him how to walk again. Lost use of right arm, partial use of right leg, Lost his job, Hard time driving. HUGE lawsuit, got 3 million to last him the rest of his life. Totally blows. Avoid surgery if you can...
  10. with a shop that looks like that, I wouldnt let em work on my lawn mower
  11. looks like the southy parade. Been to that party.
  12. I'm going to join just because his ad kicked ass
  13. My gps unit on the handlebars of my intense 951 at a race last year. Max speed recorded.
  14. I had a ppi done on one of my lambos, and bought it sight unseen on the PPI. When it arrived here the slave was out and you couldnt get it in gear, the battery was bad, when I remedied those and got the car up to temperature it had no oil pressure at idle when hot. Some PPI. Wont name the shop, but needless to say, always go and look at the car. Would have saved me 20,000 dollars.
  15. Just purchased a used honda cbr1000 earlier in the day that had soft sport saddlebags on it. Decided to ride it 150 miles in November at night to go to a friends welcome home party. Going down the Interstate at about 100mph in the middle of nowhere, all of a sudden the bike locks up, dash lights all come on and instantly starts sliding sideways. It takes every bit of my thought processing power to pull the clutch lever in to unlock it (was very proud of that at that second in time). Problem is, it didnt unlock, just started whipping back and forth still going just under 100mph. I did not have a racing suit on, just some cold weather gear and a helmet. I figured I was fucked and just kept flat tracking it. Eventually it started to calm down and I had the thought that if it came to a halt in the middle of the highway, in the pitch dark, I would probably get hit.So i started to aim it for the shoulder of the road, I was in the fast lane, skidded all the way across the highway, now going down the shoulder of the road, still skidding. At that point I got in the front brake and stopped the party. Surrounded by tire smoke I jumped off the bike, jumping up and down, saying at the top of my lungs "I"M the Man" over and over. Took a look around and saw my saddlebags were missing. Rear wheel had caught them and sucked em in. Rolled the bike backwards and they flopped out of the swingarm. Rear tire had all the cords sticking out and had a flat spot about 1/4 thick. Cant believe it didnt blow. Rode it 20 miles at 20mph on shoulder of road to the party.
  16. you dont need to remove fender to get fuel tank out. remove rear suspension
  17. I like it, except for the cursive on the tire size number. Problem with tire pens (we sell them) is they dont seem to last long. I used to have to retouch whenever i washed my tires.
  18. wish i had a time machine. havent been that excited watching a race since kevin schwantz retired
