  1. I thought we were doing something at the Everglades airport in Nov??
  2. CRAP! Not only that, but this is so typical of MB... they, like other manufacturers, contract out many of their new designs, then do the yearly revisions and upgrades in house. Hence, why the cars usually start out with beautiful and mostly organic/curvy designs, then by the end of it's life, get squared out in odd ways. The SLS was fully designed in-house... and that is the product! All we can hope is that it's one of those "looks better in person" type of things
  3. Man, that's not bad! I just came from Miami's The Collection for a test drive of the A8 (just way too big...) and the cheapest they'd let the R8 V10 go was at $168K (Sticker was $168.5), loaded, with CF side blades. Seems they sell within 72 hours of coming into the dealership. I do like the design, just a bit too tame for me.
  4. So I was heading home on Alton Road which runs from the South to North End of Miami Beach, when I caught the familiar rear wing of what could only be a Murci SV turning left onto fifty something street towards the bay (Bay Road). DAMN that monster looked incredible!! It was all Matte Black with the white SV lettering along the side. The new paper plate was still on, so he must of just got it.... Anyone know of it's owner/driver??
  5. Again I say, the human race is doomed!!! That's just ridiculous!
  6. Well, either way, looks like Schu is definitely replacing Massa for the time being.... http://formula-one.speedtv.com/artic...o-formula-one/ F1 is removing all the videos of the accident from the net, stating copyright infringement. If you are interested in seeing what happened, you can still get a view at the following link... http://www.metacafe.com/watch/3097401/felipe_massa_accident/ I hope Massa is able to race again, as after a multiple skull injury/fracture of such multitude, things usually don't end up very positive. No matter what, the publicity and viewing for F1 are going to sky rocket with Schu temporarily back!!
  7. Not bad at all... definitely takes some design ques from the Lotus Evora, but in effect, most 'organic' designs have to start looking similar at some given time. I'm sure the performance won't disappoint.... Soooo, what's Lambo working on to counter?? I know the Lotus Esprit replacement is due out for 2012, and probably will be using a Lotus tuned version of the light Lexus LF-A V10.
  8. +1 on exactly that! I also used the same setup up, but only fwd M25's with a V1 on my American Run Rally some time back. The V1 is not an option, it's a necessity. The Jammers worked great at least once, maybe twice saving my ass, but the cops still picked up and tailgated me for a bit. One of them stopped me only to see what I had in the car, but we had already put away the permanently out of site wired V1, and the jammers you can't even see unless they get on their knees and start looking around. Even then they can't prove anything. I also had a scanner, but that's a bit of overkill just to drive around town. I'd go with a new V1 off the site, that way you get free software upgrades forever, should their be any, along with the BLinders.
  9. Love it!! Especially the color and accents... int. orange stitching, now that's what I'm talking about!! ENJOY to the FULLEST!! Congrats!!
  10. I either need to be 7 again, or you need to adopt me!!
  11. Just got back into Miami.... Wow, sounds like you guys had a blast!! First of all, CONGRATS Fadi on what seems to be one hell of a bad-ass TTG! I hope to catch you next time around. Mike, sorry I couldn't make it, but we can catch up and hang out in the next couple of weeks. Man, I have to find the time to make it out to Doug's place, I'll probably be there talking and gawking all day!! Glad you guys had a great time in our back yard! Sounds like another great job from DLM....
  12. Well then, can we get 2 owners for the same year G's, one 6-speed and the other E-Gear, to take a look at their door sill/jam and see what the weight ratings are?? That will be your answer. You can go on this page and see some specs on the 6-Speed (M) and E-Gear (A), although it states same kurb weights for both cars... http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/newcars_...amp;Subcode=297
  13. Any specs on this car yet?? I must say, the body mods are perfect, not too much and looks tight, but definitely +1 on the "Bas-Ass" factor. I drove the Great American Run Edition 600HP Saleen, and it is definitely an interesting ride. Could use some help on the handling due to roll, but I understand the Shelby editions are a different animal.
  14. More info on this please.... exactly how does it work and where do we get them???
  15. I agree... it doesn't belong... Although orange is definitely my flavor (Pearl Orange to be exact, for a car), I'll stick to my wht MB any day...
  16. As I said before, the matte and satin looks are going to get 'old' before they even finish getting popular! It's being done in way too many awkward ways and a bit too much. I also understand that an upgraded amount of care comes along with these paint jobs, especially if you live in hot humid climates like myself.
  17. HEY!! Since when do I have a Korean background!?!
  18. I posted this already, but Funny you should mention that... of course, I have no concrete proof other than my own eyes, but when Rossion was out testing one of the Q1's at Morosso in February, there was a very select club of cars present that day also sharing the track. One of the cars was an Enzo being driven by a very well sorted driver. The Q1 happen to go out not too far behind the Enzo, being driven by Rossion's test driver. Within one lap, the Enzo had been passed and making distance. This says a lot for a small car from a new car company... reminds me of the Lotus days...
  19. Yeah, I can understand that... I opted for the stripes as I've always wanted the design on my car, and this was the big chance, since everything on there is custom ordered. It gives it more of a race car stance rather than the classy side (been there, done that...). I'd compare it akin to the F-Car Stradale/Scud, P-Car GT3RS, Lambo SL and Lotus Club Sport Exige. They are all the epitome of the model's best speed, power and handling... more towards the race side and just legal for the road (although the SL keeps it suttle along the sides). It might be too "race-boy" for some, but it definitely puts it a step above (at least in the eye of the general public, but again just opinion...) when next to basic painted cars. I was given the option to go a bit more custom on mine, and therefore choosing the more modern asymmetrical Lemans stripes, rather than that of the regular optional pkg consisting of 2 equal stripes. BTW, I was about to post the Weisman right under the Sagarris, but you beat me to it. One heck of a bad ass car, and another fine example of the future of car manufacturing using shared resources and components. Only issue is that I think $550K++ is a bit much for that car.....
  20. Man, you just posted a pic of one of my fav exotics on the planet! If you can't already tell, I have an affinity for the more rare and unique exotics, or newly tagged "Hypersport" cars, with the superior performance to match, preferably the underdogs (such as Lotus) who have amazing products but are always striving and fighting to bring them out rather than fall prey to $$$ and production. I got the TVR bug when it appeared in "Swordfish", but the Sagarris is a step up, a bit over done, but definitely a cool ass car with some extreme performance as well.... if only it had 'any' kind of reliability to go with it.... As for the Trap Speed, I don't recall asking, but I know it was mentioned in our discussions. Keep in mind that these numbers are unofficial, therefore not posted on any mag test or their website yet. For some reason 134 rings a bell, but not sure on this one. We'll get more official numbers in the next 60 days I'm sure. BTW, I recalled a question regarding the optional wing for tracking purposes... the Rossion team designed the aero/drag of the body to no need any type of rear wing. The wing you see on some of the vehicles is an option that's more looks than anything else. If anything, it give a very small amount of stability at speeds over 120, but the difference is almost non existent. The wing would have to be at level or over the height of the roof to give some more rear downforce, but then you'd need to readjust the front as well. The car's already perfectly balanced the way it is. The wing does add some "mean" definition though.
  21. 3 more pix I didn't post, you can also see some of the CF intakes...
  22. The base engine is a Ford Duratec Block, as used by Jaguar, then built, tuned, tested and warrantied through a collaboration of AER, Roush and Rossion, with test and build support from American Speed Factory, a third party race engineering company well known through the Ferrari racing teams. Allan, thanks for the comments. I also felt as you did when I was looking at ordering a Noble back in 2004, so I waited to see how all this panned out. The Nobles originally sold for around $85K. Well, you'd be surprised to know that even in the recession, the lowest retail value a well sorted 2006 M400 attained in 2008 was in the vicinity of $55-60K. Again, this was recession pricing, as before that, they were constantly only at 20% loss of value in the first 2 years with around 5% thereafter. It may seem to have an awkward attainment in some eyes, but I can tell you it's not, and the Rossion guys are the best guys around. You will deal directly with the owners, at least for now, as they already have around 40 sold or ordered within the first year. It will be in R&T in the next two months, along with some other mags, as they are only just getting their "engines started" so to speak. In the end, these are toys, so as many have said time and time again on this forum alone, including yourself, if you're buying them for their value, don't even bother. However, this is not one of those cars, although it won't get nearly as good say F-Car values, it isn't any worse than any other rare exotic, as long a it's well sorted and got a good history. Believe me, the performance and car you're getting is much more than the value anyhow.
  23. +1 on your comments... hence one of the main reasons I opted for this car. The drivetrain being sold separately is simply due to the car not having such items as ABS, although if they would have kept it at 25 or less (currently at 48 per year), it would have met Fed regs in the same category as the Saleen S7 and SSC Aero. In wanting to keep the same limited # as they did with the importing of the Noble, they opted for this method. It's more of a 'loophole' than anything, as in reality, the only engine for this car is the same as recommended, a light weight Twin Turbocharged V6 producing 450+ HP and a 6 Speed Getrag Gearbox. The car is soon to be sold in other markets around the world (already in Australia and Switzerland), including Europe and Asia, as a full road production vehicle, as-is. The Rossion Q1 is for drivers looking for a no nonsense purist car, or street legal race car if you will, with the supercar touches inside and out. It's the start of a new American car company, with a twist, as the Q1 is British/American engineered, American owned, and made in South Africa. I look at it as a perfect meld between a Lotus and Lambo G SL, as it has the incredible handling and light weight, while adding the HP performance and upscale exotic design and interior. Driving the car around town will leave you in disbelief that it can perform so well on the track w/o changing the suspension settings. I've yet to really lean into it, as it's in the break-in period, but as I said, I'll keep you posted. Here's a short vid showing one of the Q1's before being delivered....
