  1. You probably agreed to an asking price that was too high before seeing it. If so, throw another offer that fits you better. The worst that can happen is they say no.
  2. Just random thoughts.. Correct me if I'm wrong. There is no capital gain tax in UK if you sell a car for more than you paid. Same with other places outside of the US. The 911 thing has been going on for longer than 12 months. Yes, I'd agree many are stupid money, especially considering how much they used to be. Back in the early 90's I had a 68 911 that was converted to look like a 86 year model or so. No one at the time thought that was a bad idea. The Porsche / Ferrari value increases come from a much larger group that want *only* that car. A really stupid example in the collector market is the vintage VW bus. Crazy money for even a rust bucket. There was nothing special in the one I rode around in as a kid. Car prices have gone up ahead of real estate prices from what I can tell. Certainly in my area. The last recession, I think it was the other way around. People were borrowing money to buy that z/28, Vet, Cuda , etc with lines of credit.
  3. I'm pretty sure it's the alternator bracket that was used on the previous 5000s. Certainly not the smog pump on a 5000s. They probably built the frames well ahead of the cars & planing of the qv engine.
  4. Yes. It's a black 91 ( it might be a 92). He is a close friend, he has owned it for 10 years or more. Long story short, the internal driveshaft broke, & he pulled the engine. He got busy and never has found the time - yet.
  5. Not kidding. Not an exact match appearance wise under close examination, but surprising. Most would never know, and it really does fit nicely.
  6. Nice gathering. We have one nearby, but sadly it's all apart. There is a really nice Espada locally as well.
  7. 100 hours? That will be a really pricey wing. Ralph has an extra wing he has been trying to sell, over in the fchat classifieds section.
  8. Have you checked the relay under the hood? That was bad on mine, not the diodes.
  9. The 308 might be the easiest car to disconnect the odometer , while you are driving, around. I wouldn't trust the mileage on any of them. If all you can find wrong is the speedo, I would still go with it. Get the dealer to make a statement according to what was said and buy it. Personally I would prefer the 180 mph speedo to the 85 one anyways.
  10. Why not become a resident of Florida? You have a place down there, right? If so, you could register the car without taking it to FLorida and avoid the 6% sales tax, then transfer it to KY after you did it. I registered an old car in Maine, got the plates and title without stepping into the state several years ago. I don't know if that would work on a newer car, but a thought.
  11. How does that one work? Still an llc or can you do it as an individual? Do you get a post office box or?
  12. On fchat a guy was selling stick conversions for the 360. The pedals , shifter, linkage etc works out to $5500 using all Ferrari parts. Obviously that doesn't include the labor. It might be possible that the same could be done on a Murci or Gallardo.
  13. The poor man's XKE. I would like one as well. I've owned numerous British cars. Easy to work on, and parts availability is great.
  14. I think there is a difference between the early cars and later on the silver backing. Maybe yours is from an earlier car? Also the small rectangular reflector is available at Walmart for $2. Not exact, but really close if you can't find the original.
  15. An old member here named Emery (had a Jalpa) is pilot on the same island, but I didn't see the pilots name. I have a neighbor, that had a helicopter. He flew over my house one time so low that the helicopter almost touched the roof. Seriously. Then landed in my back yard near a tree. The rotor was clipping tree branches, and the helicopter was still "walking" forward. When It stopped I went up to him. We talked for a moment & then he left. Shortly ( a month or so ) later he was doing his usual low & yank & bank flying. He ran it right into the river. He and his girlfriend both survived. Of course the helicopter, like this one was a total. The FAA took his license as well.
  16. A few come to mind. 1986 CRX si, series one Scirocco, 68 Charger, IROC, 928 5 speed.
  17. Back on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lamborghini-Counta...em=222022461794
  18. The low mileage 89 cars are high, but 700k is crazy. That was the good buddy discount.
  19. Sweet watch, congratulations!
  20. Just curious, is there a smooth rocker panel under the 88.5 skirts?
  21. Oddly the local Audi dealer called me a few days ago, checking up on the q5 I bought new in 2014. I immediately ask her if she knew anything about what was going to happen, since mine was a 3.0 diesel. She said they will probably issue me a gift card or something. lol. I said I'm more afraid of some rebooting. I paid extra for the gas mileage/performance. She thought a re flash would be optional. Yeah, right.... She asked if I had received any emails or letters concerning the problem. Nope. I asked her if she had any emails. She said no.
  22. The bumper delete on the Diablo is such an improvement. Nice photography.
  23. I used to deal with section 8. Terrible program. They still owe me money. I could tell you a pile of stories, but they all end the same way. I don't & won't do any third party payers. If you ever want to drag some of the worst people into your life, and you bought such a shit hole that there is no way to rent it, then maybe that would be a good program for that. My advice - buy a nice property that you would stay in yourself and don't deal with that program.
