topcabron Report post Posted July 7, 2012 Did you not read my post where I said they were asking near perfect prices for a far from perfect car? this is the problem I ran into
bikeman Report post Posted July 7, 2012 nice car! ....may be too nice and low miles to mod? You'd kind of be rolling the dice on the miles, but if it was in a collection were they maintained the cars and started them regularly you might be okay you could put 10-15k on the car and still get a decent trade for it later on a pre89. grngryoutmyway Report post Posted July 9, 2012 From your posts it sounds like you are leaning towards that. 25th in the right color/no wing is very nice IMO, remember it is still a CT! Availability and price point is pretty good on them right now, you could be searching a long while to find a different option. It's a win win either way though
qvpower Report post Posted July 9, 2012 that 25th would need a wing.. especially if allan wants to mod it... looks better with wheels and wing etc... Also noticed. that dash needs to be reupholstered as the leather has shrunk...
ken qv Report post Posted July 9, 2012 Didnt Horacio Pagani help to design the 25th ?? Ya, helped mess it up! Most seem to not like the add ons BUT this is Allan we are talking about here and since the car will end up heavily modded I say go for the Anniv. model. They don't drive any better and aren't more refined which is a common theme claimed for them but you certainly can find one well cared for and low miles. Much harder to find a low production early model. In this case i vote for the 25th
Allan-Herbie Report post Posted July 9, 2012 I am NOT leaning towards a 25th.. I dont dislike them though, as I envision what the car could be. I would have the only 25th Countach of its type in the U.S. That being said, a white/tan, white/black, red/tan red/black or black/tan 88 1/2 or previous would be my first choices. Assman Report post Posted July 9, 2012 So you looked at the one at Calabasas luxury motors? It needs alot of work?
Roman Report post Posted July 9, 2012 If you're going to modify it get a 25th. Especially if you're going to mod the body at all. The 25th has wider seats than the 88.5, plus they and the windows are electric. Not that I would trust Lambo with anything electric, but that's probably nice if they work. 88.5/25th have the good a/c. Which is a must. Allan-Herbie Report post Posted July 9, 2012 So you looked at the one at Calabasas luxury motors? It needs alot of work? Thats the car that got me on the 25th kick.. The dealer is soo close to my house I can walk to it.. The color is a good match for my Diablo. Here is what I saw. #1. Cosmeticly, the car is very rough around the edges.. Paint cracking, some small door ding type dents. One of the rear quarter windows seems to have been removed at some point , and reinstalled badly. loads of black calking all around it done very sloppily. On the roof there are seams, which are cracking. The interior is badly worn for a car with only 17K Km. My old Countach with 78K on its interior was perfect. The tires are also old, need to be changed. #2. Mechanicly the car is unknown. I didnt start it or drive it. Supposedly a recent issue arose that was electrical which their mechanic couldnt figure out, so they had to call in a specialist who took several days to figure out. When i asked the issue, they said they didnt know, that they were just happy to get it resolved so they never asked. I didnt see any oil leaks but the rest of the car is unknown. The car isnt a lost cause, but I dont feel its worth anywhere near their asking price. Lambo Houston had a white/tan that was Andre Agassis car, that sold for less than Calabasas was asking with only 6600 miles, a full service and brand new clutch. Inmo there is way too much 25Th inventory to settle for a less than perfect car.
