Roman Report post Posted November 15, 2013 So... New house... Getting ready to decorate for christmas. Have always used incandescent C9s but they are getting harder and harder to find, so I thought I would take the plunge into LEDs.... But they seem like a pain in the ass... Cant cut to length, they "flicker", they look like shit, etc... Anybody have any experience/ recommendations on particular products? Gilligan740 Report post Posted November 15, 2013 I have no recommendations but I am psyched to see Roman's Landing all decked out. Just remember to activate Auxiliary Nuclear if the nearest town starts to go dark!
ts640 Report post Posted November 15, 2013 If you want to do it proper.... You want "commercial" grade light spools. You can get these off ebay, or websites like this: http://www.christmaslightsetc.com/c9-1000-...trings--459.htm You can custom order bulb combos that way, choose LED or regular old C9 Bulbs. http://www.christmaslightsetc.com/c9-chris...-lights--87.htm Also, GE Color effects are the fcuking shit! Too bad they don't make them in the longer lengths anymore.

Im looking at the GE "Colorite" c9s right now that look pretty cool... http://www.homedepot.com/p/GE-Energy-Smart...84#.UoZNyMRwpAU They are intelligent lights, they have a remote and controller, however nerds all over the internet have made them fully customizable. There are a lot of cool videos on youtube showing what people have done with them. ^Why the terrorists hate us. The Colorites are nice, better than the Phillips ones imho. Roman is now contemplating if the 600amp dedicated service from VBOXs waterpark pool will be adequate for his holiday lights, and hoping they doesn't fcuk up the migratory pattern of the Mallards that bad. Jpegs13 Report post Posted November 17, 2013 How did you mount the lights to the house? Clips on the gutters. SS finish nails in certain areas (so they can be left up year round and not rust ). SS staples for other areas (those come out)

oufan2929 Report post Posted December 1, 2013 I have a temp panel added at Thanksgiving for lighting. I accept If/when you go all LED, you won't have to use a temp panel. It's amazing how many LED lights you can put on one circuit. I'm a landscaper by trade and we do some pretty insane installs. I'll post up some pics;)
