alpha6164 Report post Posted July 15, 2014 I had mentioned before that my good friend and amazing fabricator Dwight and owner of Stage 6 motorsports offered to do a custom longtube headers for the LP640 for me. He had the flanges CNC cut from the gaskets and just finished one of the four 3cyl banks. The pix do not do it justice and looks amazing and fits like a glove. Obviously primary cats will be removed but in its place there will be straight thru resonators installed to reduce the drone somewhat without limit flow. I will definitely have pix of the finished products and updates in this thread and definitely video of the sound and performance after. I have dyno'd the car before this and will re-dyno after on same dyno to document any benefits we may see. I also had did several runs of 60-130mph with the Vbox so interesting to see how those numbers will change as well. Will keep you guys posted. Destructo Report post Posted July 16, 2014 Very cool! Did he CAD these first or design them off the originals?
alpha6164 Report post Posted July 16, 2014 Very cool! Did he CAD these first or design them off the originals? The only thing he CAD was the flanges. Everything else he does by hand. His shop is very well known. He did the first TT Ford GT in the country and also has the market cornered in the Jeep SRTs. His Jeeps are going 8's which is insane for a truck lol. ###### motorsports used him to fabricate many of their headers including ones for their Supra's. He is one of the best fabricators around. And these are equal length runners and 1/4" larger than stock.
Lambofan35 Report post Posted July 16, 2014 My buddy MASE use to work there. Good guys. I stopped by there last year in my GTT. Tell them to make an extra set so he can sell them to me when I get a Murci!

alpha6164 Report post Posted July 17, 2014 Things are coming along, one side complete two more headers to go The fitment and craftsmanship is amazing. Pix do not do justice.
Chipster Report post Posted July 17, 2014 Very nice looking! Is he going to start making them for others or this was a one off for a friend. After Megachad's quicksilver experience, i'd be leery with the normal aftermarket headers especially for the price with getting them to fit. Would be nice to have more options! megachad Report post Posted July 17, 2014 They look amazing. I would ceramic coat them. You are going to have insane heat in the engine compartment. I wouldn't expect any real power gains.. I hope you do, but I wouldn't expect them. Lambo did a good job with the flow of their original design.. Just used shitty steel to make them. very interested to see how this turns out.. Once again, his fabrication work is stunning and they look amazing!

Once again, his fabrication work is stunning and they look amazing! We have debated on this issue. His belief is that with all four cats gone heat will be actually way less than how it is stock. A very large portion of the retained heat in that compartment are all four cats heating up and retaining heat all the time. As far as power gains, I wont comment until we strap it down to same dymo with the same guys that strapped it down a couple of months ago at ###### motorsports and get real numbers. If the numbers are +/- 5whp, then I will def say there are no gains. If it is 20+ whp then it is highly worth it. People drop $10K+ for just exhaust which is essentially just sound. I am sure the sound along in this car will be insane and if gives any power then all even more reason. He has already been contacted by a an un-named Lambo dealer and they have shown interest in buying a few sets. So I will keep you guys posted

alpha6164 Report post Posted July 24, 2014 I'm excited to see the results. Well all four headers are done and welded and fit like a glove. It is essentially like 7lb 8oz baby jesus himself test fitted these lol. There will be two Burns stainless resonators that will go where the primary cats where just to reduce the drone. Of course they are pass thru so there will be no decrease in performance. We are waiting for the Burns to arrive tomorrow or Monday. This bull should be done by end of next week. Will keep you guys posted.

djantlive Report post Posted July 24, 2014 i love how it looks. but why would the rear cyclinders have a pipe that point forward first? wouldn't that create a restriction? also, is the OEM one with additional heat shield? i would ceramic coat them given there is an oil line towards the firewall. The bends are done so smooth and the diameter of the tubes are significantly larger compared to OEM that there will be no restrictions. Today I got to examine the OEM "headers" I don't know if you can even call it that but they have literally very sharp more than 90deg angles to try to fit in a tiny package. Only numbers will tell but I don't see how these will not flow significantly more.
whiteout Report post Posted July 25, 2014 This is fantastic. i love how it looks. but why would the rear cyclinders have a pipe that point forward first? wouldn't that create a restriction? also, is the OEM one with additional heat shield? i would ceramic coat them given there is an oil line towards the firewall. So the exhaust gasses travel an equal length.
