capt_chaos Report post Posted May 12, 2017 Lets be clear here. Did you pay for work on the speedo? Have you got a invoice for this work? Did it work? Yes no answers will be fine. Now would be a good time to call a spade a spade and be clear on the facts. I don't care for private messages on this so just post here. I dont remember What with driving it from George's the cost plus bill must have come to at least 3k? Do you often pay that and not worry when things are not done? I know that when I drive a distance after paying for work on a car and they do not work I would question the work that has been carried out. So you did not call George at all on the way home and mention anything? No phone calls, no emails, no texts, nothing? Is that correct? abolfaz Report post Posted May 12, 2017 I specifically remember when Roy first had this car for sale as a "TLC" car before Jason got it. Then it went over to Evan's and supposedly had a "no expense spared" visit. Since then it's sold and I've read both here and on other forums about a shitbox CT that was seen at Franco's. Case in point: I saw it at Franco's after he sold it. One word - rough. I initially thought it was a theft recovery as most of the interior was out to repair the wiring loom. Paint was bad too, driver's side air intake looked like my 8 year son had a go sanding it with 60 grit. Yeah, you have to be really careful when people misrepresent their cars.....all sorts of problems, bad paint work, shoddy electrical, interior problems, the list is endless. I saw a Countach at Franco's a while back, it was a disaster. Apparently, the new owner wasn't happy. I always figured it must have been a different car, especially since alleged "mischaracterization" of Jason's ex car on F-chat led to a shitstorm and I think someone's banning over there. So what's the real deal here? Only a fool would misrepresent the condition of a car like that.

It was definitely a good basis to begin with.
Rouleur Report post Posted May 12, 2017 So I can understand, maybe I lost something. Jason bought the car from Roy. Jason put the car on consignment with Roy. While car was inbound to Roy, Roy just bought the car from him. Roy sold the car before it got back to his dealership to another buyer. Buyer who got the car was not happy with the condition? It ended up at some place called "Franco's" in California.

Out of that estimate Toptampon chose to for the most part do Euro conversion and exhaust. Once he decided to sell he portrayed the car to Roy as having all of Georges items addressed. He supplied Georges estimate as a repair.
kinnsella Report post Posted May 13, 2017 It ended up at some place called "Franco's" in California. Franco's is not some place. It's fcuking holy ground for Italian exotics. The day I saw the Countach in question, there were 3 other Countachs, 3 LM002's, several Diablos, a TR, numerous other Ferraris and all sorts of other rare stuff. They had a pristine Alfa Romeo Montreal...look that one up. Car enthusiast porn. Total straight shooters.

IanMan Report post Posted May 13, 2017 Franco is an extremely nice man. My friend and I visited him and Damian in Feb and had a blast. I must have talked to Damian for a half hour and they let us walk around the shop and look at all the cars. Franco was taking apart a friend's Audi in the parking lot and had the head off of it. You can tell Franco was VERY invested in his work.

SingleSeat Report post Posted May 13, 2017 So how come it took you guys so long to spill the beans on this. First the earth cooled. And then the dinosaurs came, but they got too big and fat, so they all died and they turned into oil. And then the Arabs came and they bought Mercedes Benzes. Then some dude named Nick Rienzo had to buy a used Gallardo. And then someone had to start a thread about it on LP. And then things got weird. At the time LaBrit said not worth, it is what it is and nothing will change the people involved.* However this was a bit too rich Buyer beware.....as always Unless you have money to burn and don't care Sad part is that I really do not think we will get the full truth from Jason. People give LaBrit grief for his language and so on but he actually was reasonably decent over the whole thing and acted way more reserved than I would. * first part is verbatim, the latter I have changed the words so they use more than four letters, we know what LaBrit is like.
