4n6md Report post Posted February 28, 2008 Are those the REAL photos??? Looks like a poster! Anybody want to set the over/under? Agreed, a fantastic looking car. I'm thinking 500K, USD, on the over/under. Anyone else?
CountachQV Report post Posted February 28, 2008 Agreed, a fantastic looking car. I'm thinking 500K, USD, on the over/under. Anyone else? Any CT like that are great candidate for Europe. They get a 50% discount. Not sure this will go to Japan. I dont know how the Yen behave agaistn the $. I'll be a car collector from Europe with money to spare, I'll be all over the US cars. That is just a great way to play the currency trade and enjoy it too or vice versa.

CountachQV Report post Posted February 29, 2008 I agree -it's outta here!! Euro at 1.52 TODAY - wtf???? nice work Bush! Now the yen is taking off too! I am glad our great King Georges the 2nd said recently he favors a strong currency. I would wonder what we would get if these officials would not support a strong currency. So what is it going to be Japan or Europe? Let's bet.. (in euro so I can keep my worlwide networth afloat if i win!)? In a week may be the yen vs $ could appreciate so much than it could leave the euro vs. $ appreciation in the dust
Peter K Report post Posted February 29, 2008 I do not trust the auction. Description sounds familiar from years ago.
MANG Report post Posted February 29, 2008 I'm definitely fascinated with the price disparity in CT's......already near $450K with 7 days+ to go... kovachian Report post Posted February 29, 2008 Im going to say 465. Without the right people hyping the car I don't think it will go that high. Well, it's not like extraordinary cars such as a creampuff 70's Countach would slip by unnoticed. It's already at $440.6 with more than a week left. Hell collector cars like this THRIVE on hype; otherwise, shmucks like myself might actually be able to afford 30+ year old cars. lambolp400s Report post Posted March 1, 2008 Prices on all collectorcars (nearly all) are going down in the US now, so to me this looks like a typical hype to rise the LP400 prices. Cars priced lower than this car has been for sale around the world for some time, and suddenly people throw $450000+ at an auction where they probably havent seen the car?... In my oppinion, normaly a car as rare and wanted as this in that pricerange rarely comes to the open marked. One collector knows what the other collector has, and word goes around betwine these people what some wants, and what some has for sale. This auction is not a leading auction... I guess it depends if they are too high right now to begin with or cars that are not known. Is that not the car with the replaced engine? Just like you said "in private" cars change hands... Just ask Mr. Sackey. I get offers on my S1 for $200K right now in this "bad time" and the answer is still a polite "no thank you" That is $30K more than I paid for it last year, but I still don't see a LP400 being more than twice a perfect S1...
