  1. fcuking makes me breath harder so expelling more CO2. I think I shall increase my carbon footprint by fcuking 3 times a day for the next 2 weeks. Russell
  2. Sorry but I have to ask if you have ever worked on a car. The wheels I think are directional and help with brake cooling so yes you can put them on the wrong side. Your Toyota would stop if a timing belt broke, the Ferrari would also stop but be helped a bit by having the valves bashing into the top of the pistons probably doing more damage than your Toyota cost. 3. You can try, and sometimes even think you have escaped but in the end you WILL RETURN.
  4. I got one of those also but damned if I can understand any of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Russell
  5. I would suspect any dealer that has a car in stock is upside down in it and praying for a sucker.
  6. QUOTE (Jason_B @ Jan 12 2010, 03:59 PM) I'm wondering if you trade a car and the value is same or similar as the car you buy what that means as far as taxes/registration, etc. especially in California. Just curious? In NC you pay the difference in tax value ie if trade is worth 100k and your new car is 125k you will pay the tax on the 25k Russell
  7. Great news but keep after them as when push comes to shove they WILL try to lowball you. Russell

I like to be entertained and for $12 I was extremely entertained for a few hrs. Could have done without the social concience bit but I LIKED IT. Russell
  9. I purchased my 08 LP640 in 08 for just under sticker. How in hells name are the dealers going to move new stock now when you can buy a 1 year old car that is in allmost every detail new for 60% of sticker. When I purchased I expected to loose a bit and after a couple of years trade for a new car, this plan is now shot as although not hurting in any way I just can't justify 100k per year loss and then add more to it. By the way I am not at all pissed, I love my car and I am a big boy and I made the decision to buy I just under estimated the depth of this economic collapse. Russell
  10. very lucky not to be in a convertable. Russell
  11. I really do like this look with the black roof and have been toying with the idea of having someone put a black wrap on the roof and rear of my baloon white lp640.
  12. Most people who don't bother with insurance also don't care about driving without a licence. I do have uninsured/underinsured on my policy and think you have to have it by law in North Carolina. . I also carry an umbrella policy that kicks in if I have an accident and am sued for more than my own coverage limits. Russell Just pulled this up UM/UIM Coverage Now Mandatory Drivers in North Carolina used to have a choice whether to add uninsured (UM) and underinsured (UIM) motorist coverage to their auto insurance policies. Not anymore. Changes that went into effect in January 2009 made it mandatory for all drivers to carry UM insurance and some drivers to carry UIM insurance as part of their regular car insurance policy. Uninsured motorist coverage helps cover the losses when a driver is involved in a hit-and-run accident or an accident caused by a driver with no insurance. There are two types of uninsured coverage: uninsured coverage for bodily injury (UM-BI) and uninsured coverage for property damage (UM-PD). North Carolina drivers are required to carry both. Underinsured motorist coverage, on the other hand, helps cover the costs associated with bodily injury when someone is in a car crash caused by a driver with too little insurance. For example, say a driver is hit in a head-on collision and suffers massive injuries totaling more than $100,000 in medical bills and the responsible driver only has minimum liability coverage in the amount of $30,000. The injured driver then could seek recovery under their own UIM policy for their remaining medical expenses, up to coverage limits. Currently, only drivers who carry greater than minimum liability insurance qualify to purchase UIM coverage. The minimum liability requirements in North Carolina are $30,000 per person, $60,000 per accident and $25,000 property damage, or 30/60/25. However, it is important to remember than any driver can and should add UIM coverage to their policy. Policies that are solely for commercial vehicles or fleets are exempt from the UM/UIM coverage requirements. Coverage Requirements Below is a list of the UM coverage requirements and UIM coverage requirements, if applicable. - UM - Bodily Injury: equal to the highest limits of bodily injury liability for any one vehicle on the insurance policy. The maximum the driver may carry is $1,000,000 per person/$1,000,000 per accident. The minimum the driver may carry is $30,000 per person/$60,000 per accident. - UM - Property Damage: equal to the highest limits of property damage liability for any one vehicle on the insurance policy. The driver cannot elect greater amounts than this for UM-property damage coverage. The minimum coverage is $25,000 per accident. - UIM: equal to the highest limits of bodily injury liability for any one vehicle on the insurance policy. The maximum the driver may carry is $1,000,000 per person/$1,000,000 per accident. The minimum the driver may carry is $30,000 per person/$60,000 per accident. State law requires insurance companies to give notice to their policyholders at the time they begin a new policy and upon each renewal of their policy of their right to purchase greater or lesser UM and UIM coverage. This notice generally will be included on the insurance policy's declarations page. The Importance of UM/UIM Coverage Many North Carolina drivers may have not been happy to see UM/UIM coverage become mandatory in the state, especially if their auto insurance rates increased as a result. But the truth is that this is a state law that will help people, even if they have to take a small hit in the pocketbook. Even though North Carolina law requires all drivers to carry at least minimum liability coverage on their vehicles, there is still a high number of drivers who willfully choose to disobey this law. All it takes is one accident by a driver with no insurance or not enough insurance to financially devastate a family. Even if the driver is fortunate enough to walk away from the crash with little to no physical injuries, the driver still faces the burden of paying vehicle repair expenses out-of-pocket. And if the accident did result in serious injury, then the driver faces the daunting prospect of footing the bill for his or her own hospital bills, doctor bills, medications, therapy and any other necessary treatment on top of the lost wages from work. Liability insurance only covers the damage you may cause to someone else and does nothing to protect you. UM/UIM coverage is a way for drivers to take action to protect themselves. The overall expense of having these coverages added to a car insurance policy is minimal compared to the costs a driver would face without having the added coverage.
  13. Sorry if repost but not seen this before. Russell
  14. With only 350 cars produced I would think a company such as Tubi would not produce an off the shelf system, you may need to contact them and have a custom one built. Some one might have put a std lp640 system on a 670??? Russell
  15. If I remember the other Scottish person that Phil McCrackin wes talking too was Ben Doon.
  16. I feel for you. Its good that everyone came out of this ok, and yes it is only a car and can be replaced but I still understand that feeling in your gut. Russell
  17. pulled up the pics of the one in the UK and the picture of the engine seems to be missing the perforated shroud over the muffler or do they not have one? Russell
  18. How much longer until this withers and dies, could be worse though might have got caught bonking one of the Kardashians?????????? Russell
  19. Typical Egear problem, I would suspect all owners of Murci e gear have had this. Some conditions that seem to cause this are cold engine and gear box, Starting on a hill especially with wheels turned, not giving car enough throttle when starting off. Both my cars did this but the first was worse than the last, problem got much less when car had covered 3k miles. Infact my car had a mild case of this today when reversing out of a parking spot with pretty much full lock and a no warm up time. It seemed that the ECU gets in a loop of engage disengage clutch and the only way to clear it is to stop and turn off the ignition or drive the car and change gears a couple of times. Russell
  20. I'm just pissed that my business has gone to hell in a hand basket over the last couple of years and I have to stay with the lowly LP640 for a while. It might be that when things turn around and I buy a new car we will be on the replacement and it will be just a name again. Russell
  21. Just starting it and letting it idle for a while is not a very good practice. You will have condensation in the oil and unless you drive the thing for 30 or 40 mins it will not evaporate. Russell
  22. You could buy the video or cd. I own patents in places/countries that I do not distribute to but take a dim view of people ripping off my property, If they contact me I will gladly sell them the products. Russell
  23. MACarbon will recover your old wheel, they can do carbon and variations of leather, suede and also offer thicker wheels, google them and they have some options shown on the site. I am thinking of having mine redone in perf leather (bottom is already carbon) with colour coded stitching. Russell
  24. My take on this is for a toy, you should consider the money spent and non returnable, ie if you spend $150k its gone and if you do get money back if and when you sell consider it a bonus. These cars are a liability and don't let anyone tell you they are an investment. All that being said they are good fun and if this is how you plan to spend your disposable income (not your second mortgage) go for it. Russell
