Totally. Takes two idiots to tango. Combining an idiot cop with an idiot perp results in compounded idiocy, and occasional tragedy.

I try to look at money unemotionally by following simple rules: 1) Borrow low, invest high. Otherwise don't borrow. Caveats: Primary residence or education with a fairly certain ROI. 2) Don't finance your fun: Cars, vacations, chicks, engagement rings, blow, basically anything with entertainment/emotional value. 3) Credit/leverage is simply a tool. Logic guides the use of tools, not emotions. Being "debt free" or spending money you don't have - neither should have any romantic value. 4) Always have at least a a couple years of living expenses liquid. 5) Invest a higher than average portion of your income, ie live well below your means.

Obvious "No shoot" situation. Hopefully the ridiculous legal system here doesn't make a mockery of this.

I should have a smooth shot on the quick route through the 'danger zone', but will have to keep an eye on conditions. I'm wanting to blast the whole thing in one go, starting early Saturday afternoon. In case of unintended narcolepsy, sounds like ABQ is the last reasonable stopping point. Thanks guys, my timing kinda sucks since I'll be leaving OKC about 3-4pm saturday. At least that's how it stands now. Weather through Gallup looks to be clear that night, but dang cold. I'm not opposed to spending the night somewhere along the route, if necessary...

This weekend I am looking to drive interstate 40 in a Mercedes SL from OKC to PHX, but some friends warned me about road conditions due to bad weather, ice, etc. Suggested I look into taking the southern route which should be warmer, but also is 3+ hours longer... Anyone have any advice??
