GBGallardo Report post Posted November 2, 2010 Anyone got any good replacements for downloading music? I use torrents for albums but need p2p for singles. 1) Find the song on YouTube. 2) http://www.vidtomp3.com 3) Paste the YT URL, high quality MP3
BLK85 Report post Posted November 2, 2010 Torrents work good too. But you usually have to download the whole album.

soup Report post Posted November 2, 2010 Torrents work good too. But you usually have to download the whole album. You don't? Normally you get to pick all the songs you want to download from that specific album. And the people who are looking for a new program, look into '''BEARSHARE'' I used to use that a lot but now I just don't because I couldn't keep up with some of the latest music revelations and just get the whole album. Bearshare was great because I used to find some songs on there that weren't really out /released (remixes). 1) Find the song on YouTube. 2) http://www.vidtomp3.com 3) Paste the YT URL, high quality MP3 No offense, but downloading songs that are already resized or have lost their quality to be put on youtube, then youtube does their thing with it, then you download it and expect it to be of good quality is rather unrealistic. And like a member said above just try to google, e.g. rapidshare specific song.mp3

rmtn Report post Posted November 2, 2010 I can guarantee you that you could never spot the difference between a file from iTunes or a CD vs. one from YouTube. Trust me one can always spot (given stereos good enough) difference between CD and 320kbs MP3 not to speak lesser qualities. More it is packed the more it sounds "slutty" I buy my music in 320kbs MP3 for dj use but I want albums in CD to really listen them at home. Kevin2772 Report post Posted November 2, 2010 I only download at most about 5 songs a month. I got tired of hearing "New shit!" or some "DJ exclusive" screamed over the shitty dubbings on limewire so I went legit and started buying everything from itunes years ago....for $5 a month or less its really not too overwhelming

I have to agree here. I can be a bit of an audio snob but I once downloaded a very hard to find song off the 'tube and the sound quality was very disappointing. Now, not all uploads are created equal....but I can't imagine the majority being a lot better. Random thought: if the music industry really wants to control downloads, they should find a way to "ruin" sound quality. Maybe a virus that attacks these boards and alters all the compression settings.

Rawr Report post Posted November 2, 2010 anyone remember Kazaa? You'd download 20 porn movies and it would be the same 3 movies just titled differently! After some time one would look at file size and could tell exactly what porno it was Spyware, fake files, puprposely destroyed white noise songs, etc are reasons things like kazaa/ares/limewire are on their way out IMO. Torrents are great specifically because there is always feedback avaialable, not to mention straight http download will be faster than anything on clients 99% of the time
