boom! sonny is 100% right. I have spared with 135 lbs guys who are brown belt in BJJ and they arm bar me in 2 min. Obviously i can play defense and they have a hard time.. but if i am really trying they are way more advanced and WILL tap me out pretty damn fast.

I am 5.11 193 lbs , Good build. I spar vs my buddy who is brown belt in Judo and BJJ and he is 5.6 155 lbs and is damn near impossible to beat. I know if it was a street fight I would do much better as i come from a Kick boxing background for 4 years. I would throw punches before going to the ground.

either way if a pro gets you to the ground you are done...

Hahaha. I posted same time as your bro... :-)

As said, weight classes are because if the fighters are of equal skill, then the bigger one is at an advantage. By making sure they're in the same weight class, it keeps the competition as a test of skill and not size or strength.

My last post on the matter...it looks like after catching up on the thread that what I had intended must not have come accross. My original post was in jest. My responses after were regarding lasting more than 10 seconds as sonny had mentioned. I saw a minute mentioned in a later post by someone so I wanted to clarify that. And also, I clearly stated that I wasn't saying I would win. That being said, I completely understand where you guys are coming from regarding some random guy saying some random thing on the internet, which of course I would most likely react in a similar fashion. If you don't have some faith in your capabilities, who will lol.

No Chipster, not good enough. Everything written on an internet car forum about women's MMA is binding law. Our expectation is you will fight Rousey for a purse of $50,000.01 and will not suffer submission or TKO within the first 60 seconds. If you are a proper beast, you will have no issues.

Then why are there weight classes?

Again, this was not talking about professional fighter vs professional fighter. Size means nothing when comparing a professional fighter vs average joe like Rousey vs Chipster. Not that I am implying Chipster is an average joe lol.

If someone sets it up! I'm pretty sure I can blind her with my whiteness for 10 seconds

That or submission by Pornhub trivia. Your finishing move could be called The Kleenex.

Aldo vs. McGregor set for UFC 194 at MGM, Dec. 12th. :icon_super:

Rousey vs. Tate will be on a different card.

Man, I can't wait for the Aldo/McGregor fight.

At first I thought McGregor will beat Aldo, but after seeing some holes in his game against Mendes, I am not so sure anymore. Going to be a great fight IMO

I'm rooting for Aldo, but then again the sport needs a guy like Conor... I love watching Aldo, but he's not very marketable unfortunately.

Opening odds are 2 for 1 for McGregor...I mean...I'd be willing to put a bit of money on Aldo with these kind of odds.

A healthy Aldo on a full camp will be quite a handful for McGregor. I think he's a more compete fighter than McGregor...but Conor has so much power...it can be lights out at any point.

There's been a lot of talk about Conor never meeting a wrestler until Mendes, but how about a kicker? Conor can kick fancy and punch hard, but I think Aldo kicks a helluwa lot harder. I hope Aldo brings the same game he brought when he kicked Faber purple!

Agree with both comments.

Bovada has McGregor -190 and Aldo +155. That means $190 on McGregor wins $100, and $100 on Aldo wins $155. As fight time approaches, odds will change as the book will shift to spread wagers across both sides to hedge.

I am not expecting a TKO at this level. I think it grinds out 5 rounds and ends in a decision for McGregor.

A 5 round decision would be very "interesting" as I feel that would play into Aldo's hands. He seems good at keeping the distance and moving in and out, kicking the shit out of the legs and body of McGregor. Conor is lower but more impactful output from his recent fights.

If Aldo fights a boring, careful bout, keeping his distance, kicking a shitload, two or three takedowns with a bit of ground and pound, this could pay in his favour. I don't mind the McGregor era, but dear god it would be beautiful to see him lose and listening to that post-fight interview and conference...:)

So it looks like UFC 194 will be pretty awesome.

McGregor vs Aldo (lightweight championship unification)

Weidman vs Rockhold (Middleweight championship)

Souza vs Romero (Middleweight number 1 contender spot, i.e. next title fight contender)

I'm buying this one. :)

Rousey and Tate are the same size. Here is Tate and Guyborg. Wanderlei in a wig, post-op. No way she cuts to 135 and doesn't gas out in 30 seconds.

  • 1 month later...

DC looked pretty good against Gus. Gus, DC and Jones are all pretty close at this point I think, Jones will have ring rust coming back presumably, his mental game will also be a question mark.

Will be interesting to see if RRR can sell out the Australian stadium.
