Kerplop Report post Posted November 12, 2011 Anyone pick it up? What'ya think? Aside from the name sounding like a strange porno of sorts... it's easily one of the best games I've played in a very long time. Weather effects are amazing, voice acting isn't bad, leveling system is really cool. So much to do! I'm also beta testing Star Wars: Old Republic and will be saying goodbye to WoW. It's great. The fact that you can craft things (and you couldn't in the other games) gives an edge and a new element. You can travel pretty much anywhere now. Walk anywhere, go anywhere, do whatever. PS: Don't piss off the fcuking bear at the start. For some reason bears don't like to play nice. Downsides: Hope your computer is fast (unless you're playing on console then it doesn't matter) Anyone remember morrowind? Or Oblivion? Was easy to kill lol This game looks great in 3D too, really beautiful!
ameer Report post Posted November 12, 2011 Wow! That looks amazing! I wish I had the time for this, in the past few years I haven't really played any computer games, I must be getting old... Sucks... I did play WoW many years ago when I was in college, people still play it?

I knew I was missing out on SOMETHING. That sounds pretty cool! Wow! That looks amazing! I did play WoW many years ago when I was in college, people still play it? Skyrim is worth it. I've played morrowind and oblivion, and each time I've been more and more impressed. They definitely don't forget what was good in the previous games and keep adding to the current. Graphically beautiful and it'll keep you entertained for a very long time. I did play WoW. However, it got so freaking repetitive. Old Republic is really cool. I'm enjoying the beta so far. The last time a Star Wars MMO came out it was a total fail. This one... however... very cool. Placid Report post Posted November 12, 2011 I did play WoW many years ago when I was in college, people still play it? They still have over 10 million active players, but have been losing a lot lately. There was over 12 million less than a year ago. 3D????? Man.. I knew I was missing out on SOMETHING. That sounds pretty cool! It's awesome on some games, just annoying on others. Skyrim is very well designed for it, and it really adds a new dimension to the experience. Destructo Report post Posted November 12, 2011 My friends have been in a tizzy about Skyrim, looks pretty awesome. Tell us more about the Star Wars MMO, I enjoyed WoW, but would LOVE a SW version. I'm hit.
DrVertigo Report post Posted November 12, 2011 I don't know how much of Skyrim you've been able to play thus far, but is the terrain all snow, mountains and pine trees?
Mako Report post Posted November 12, 2011 About 10 hours in, great game. Saving up to buy a house, freaking need to dump all this shit I'm carrying as I'm at 300/300 constantly (dragon bones/scales are heavy as @#$!). Love it. I don't know how much of Skyrim you've been able to play thus far, but is the terrain all snow, mountains and pine trees? I worried about that too, but honestly running the game on my PC at 1920x1080 maxxed out Anti-Aliasing/quality settings everything looks so good that it's not a problem. The weather changes are dramatic as well, which also adds to the environment.

Hoping I can get away with that on a new graphics card... anything more than that and I'll need a new computer. What specs are you running? TheFilipinoStig Report post Posted November 13, 2011 Have been playing it on PS3. Love it so far. Amazing graphics. But saving up for a house IS a bitch, I'm with Mako - carrying shit around at max is not fun.
DickSimmons Report post Posted November 13, 2011 I'm so tempted to get it. Just finished Arkham City and Uncharted 3 in like 2 days, so I need something longer. I'm waiting to get my 115 2.35 projector set up here though. I think this game would be awesome in 100 inches.
AccidentalChef Report post Posted November 13, 2011 I'm waiting to get my 115 2.35 projector set up here though. I think this game would be awesome in 100 inches. Same. 106" 16x9 here... Really wanted to go 2.35 but couldn't do it in this room. Based on what I've seen of the graphics online, it should be amazing on a big screen. When I play games, it's usually on my desktop, but I don't know if my video card can handle Skyrim at 2560x1600.
loveoffutbol Report post Posted November 13, 2011 Been watching friends play it, absolutely insane how good this game is. It's interesting how you could use weapons only or magic only or a combination of the three and there's always a mission to complete. DickSimmons Report post Posted November 13, 2011 Damn, all you guys are on a PC. I don't have a gaming PC -- will be playing it on my PS3. Hope it plays good. I can deal with loading, but I can't deal with shitty graphics. I've never played these games and the only concern I have is the combay. It looks like it's hard to tell if you're hitting someone or if you are like just out of reach and missing them. I tried playing this FPS zombie game my friend had and I couldn't hit shit. Every time I swung my shovel I wasn't close enough. Never knew when to hit the button.
DickSimmons Report post Posted November 13, 2011 Same. 106" 16x9 here... Really wanted to go 2.35 but couldn't do it in this room. The only reason I'm getting 2.35 is because I'm getting a Panasonic AE4000 that has a zoom feature for 2.35. It's not quite the same as having an anamorphic lens, but it's $4000 cheap heh. I've heard good things about the projector in general, especially at it's price point. It's not 3D, which is nice too, because I hate 3D and I'm not paying for it with this one. Rawr Report post Posted November 13, 2011 Been having fun with MW3, found a great way to level about once every match.. Skirim looks like a huge time thief, I spent many many hours on Morrowind..twice
sprite Report post Posted November 13, 2011 I'll pick it up skyrim when I finish mw3. Vacationing in UAE now so will be a few weeks. Also picking up swtor but only to scan it for hacks. Got no interest in star wars franchise.
DickSimmons Report post Posted November 13, 2011 MW3 is kinda disappointing. Not because it's like MW2 (I've never played it, so I don't care,) but because the spawning in multiplayer is retarded. The other day I respawned right behind some dude and killed him. It makes no sense. Why would you respawn someone right next to the enemy? It also respawns you near your team, so if you kill some dude who you knew was walking toward you, it's often the case that the second you kill him, some guy that wasn't there 10 seconds ago is now also there and he shoots you. There is skill, but it's mainly luck, which I don't like. Most kills I get are just shooting people who run right by me on accident, and most deaths are the same. I've been playing it on PS3... it does lag periodically, though I haven't been hit too hard yet.... The game is unreal though. So much to do.... I've already logged a couple of hours playing it and I don't think I've even completed a mission yet (minus the "tutorial") - Just running around and tearing shit up atm. Skirim looks like a huge time thief, I spent many many hours on Morrowind..twice Buddy if you thought Morrowind was a time thief... take a few weeks off and you'll still have crap to do in this game haha. A buddy of mine actually took time off from work to play it (I know... I know) and he's still playing.
