ASTON AMV8 or GTR?

so... the BMW 335 is going to be gone in a few weeks, and looking for a replacement. it'll have to do it's job as a daily driver, as i commute almost 60-80 miles a day... i usually take the gallardo out 2-3 times a week. some factors i have to consider:

- reliability: i'm sure GTR will take the cake on this one. but i've had VARYING stories of the AMV8. some who are using it with no problems, some who've had nightmares.

- clutch replacement: AMV8 i know has a fickle clutch

- prices: looking somewhere between: $60-80k depending on the car, mileage, optoins

- any ALTERNATIVES to the choices above? any other good suggestions? i do like the idea of picking up a car that's sort of got most of the depreciation curve squeezed out. i picked up my 05 gallardo sub-100k and now sits with $25-30k in equity in the car without taking payments and stuff out of the equation. i know the AMV8 has been out for a handful of years, and an 06-07 has little room left to keep dropping. not sure if the same can be said about the GTR after 1-2 years / 20-30k miles.

- what are 997 turbos going for?

- any help or suggestions would be appreciated... thanks!

997 turbos 80k plus for good ones.

Was just going to say that.

Reliable, relatively plush ride compared to the harsh GTR, and can switch between a docile hwy cruiser and a speed-demon with just the right foot going to the floor.

No better choice for your scenario, the other two don't compare in terms of specifically for your stated needs.

i know power/drivers enjoyment can be super boring... but i always thought AM's were beautiful looking cars...

You already have enough flash with the G. 997TT!

I would look at an m6 vert. For the money they are one he'll of a fun car. I had doubts but picked up a low mile mint 2010 for just a fun car a few months back and it is a fun ride with tons of modern tech to make it a great tooling around car. Not the fastest or rarest but great bang for the buck.

Drive a GTR. Drive a 997TT. M6 can be fun if its still in warranty. Maybe an MB CLK63 Black series? I always liked that car

Make your decision.

what about a gran turismo? no the fastest but looks good and sounds good.

was looking at that too... sounds amazing with an exhaust... i just like the MC corsa version too much to just get a base version... and a tad stretching for me to pick up something that expensive.... i started my search at $65-70k, and now floating like $85-90k.... so just have to be careful.

the m6 is starting to slowly look dated next to the new 6 body... i love the new 6... but again, like all BMW/Mercs... it'll tank in value the next 2 years.

I'll be selling my 2012 GT-R soon... waiting to find a red 2013.....

my 335i convert lease is up soon as well, drove the 997 turbo cab, nice and fast, but it's for the wife and the kids are a tight fit in the back... going to end up with the new lightly used 2012 650i convert.... I can't believe a new 650i convert is $100k+!

A C63 as a daily driver would be pretty neat. It sounds GREAT, pretty comfortable, 4 doors, still plenty fast to keep you entertained.
