Mako Report post Posted August 6, 2012 For Slowpoke: http://science.time.com/2012/08/05/an-insi...iosity-rover-09 The FAP system. :lol2: Close to the time now, but my head is telling me there's no way this complicated landing system with so many critical parts is going to actually work... Hopefully NASA proves the cynics wrong and nails it, would be a nice big positive for an industry that's suffering lately. Rawr Report post Posted August 6, 2012 How the hell do you slow down from 13,000 MPH to land it?
Mako Report post Posted August 6, 2012 How the hell do you slow down from 13,000 MPH to land it? Atmosphere, super-sonic chute, retro-rockets. The sky-crane thing working properly is mind-blowing, the guy who first thought up that insane solution can finally breathe again, lol.
