High bypass fan and compressor blade design. I also did designs for winglet/raked wingtips. When I was younger I worked with others doing multi element airfoil design and boundary layer control.

My PhD involves an extension of this using passive boundary layer control to improve flow quality into a turbojet at supersonic velocity.

Oh, you might know my buddy Ken Visser. You a 90's Boeing guy?

If he is, this just got 10x worse. His arrogance painted him as a 21yr old in his 3rd year with his first experience building something more complicated than lincoln logs. If this dude is 40, then I'm completely at a loss for words.

I like talking about the P1 a lot more than ass.

I hear the first customer car (P1) has come off the assembly line and is in testing! That is exciting news. I wonder how far behind the La is?

The first head-to-head testing will be huge win for one brand and a massive loss for the other.

That's pretty impressive to be honest.

Apparently pretty far. From FChat:

Ferrari have not made any major presentations to the public of ThethetheFerrari since the Geneva Auto Show. The word I heard in Maranello is that it won't be shown again this time until it is 100% ready and achieves the performance and weight targets it already announced. That will be in March next year at the earliest and still much work to do to achieve those estimate figures.

I saw another coming back from testing the other day. Down country roads with two people carriers, one in front, one behind.

Looks amazing. Otherworldy.

I always thought I was shaking my head to someone 19-21.

Yeah...i thought he was some sort of early 20's something that got his first taste of a "big boy" job and was running with the over confidence.

Holy hell.

Ferrari CEO said late this year first customer delivery, the battle will be awesome when it unfolds, but what if the quiet fat German girl takes the crown? :icon_mrgreen:

Exciting times ahead.

Damn, I am wanting this car more and more, what color was the one you spotted? Why no photos?

I was driving through a village called Bramley, very tight roads and it was again going in the opposite direction to me. They use the people carriers to shield people taking photos as you cannot overtake.

Grey black.

It was just a "quick oooh look dammmn it is gone" moment.

Leno might well have one of the first in the US but I imagine the Bahrain royal family will get the first lot what with them throwing a large chunk of the £800million required to start the automotive project in Woking

McLaren London have this P1 to deliver already - it is reported to be chassis 046, and likely going to the owner of F1 chassis 046 based on something I heard earlier.

The cars will not be built in order by number - buyers were able to select a preferred chassis number and UK and Europe deliveries will take the lead.

Not certain if Leno will receive "Chassis 001" but I would also not be surprised. US deliveries are due to begin in Q1 of 2014.

I like the marketing strategy. Extra encouragement for F1 owners. I can say that the blue with silver wheels is my least favorite combination so far. The silver looks off somehow.
