BLK85 Report post Posted June 2, 2014 Come on, LP is full of alcoholics. You must have some drink ideas. I just drink beer or the trusty Crown Royal and Water, might toss a Lime in there to feel more summery.
AudiBull Report post Posted June 2, 2014 Caipirinha, Extra spicy Bloody Mary, Hurricane, Sazerac, Negroni, Margaritas of various sorts. Not into frozen drinks, but I love a good Pina Colada when I'm on a beach. Don't have time to detail every recipe, but they are readily available online. If you like Mojitos, you will probably like a good Caipirinha. -Muddle two lime quarters and one teaspoon white or two teaspoons brown sugar in a glass, fill with ice and then with good cachaca. My go to is fairly easy to make. -Bourbon on the Rocks. 1. Put ice in a glass 2. Pour some bourbon in the glass.

Ducking club soda? Seriously use sprite (the drink not something squeezed from the LP member here) or if you are billy big balls use champagne. Amps up the citric flavour and makes it a touch sweeter. Seriously takes one of my favourite drinks to a new level. Also drop Bacardi, use Havana club. Barcadi is gnats piss. Also smack the mint about before muddling, roll your limes before chopping. And ice needs to be crushed. I will post some more drinks later. MrDoctor Report post Posted June 2, 2014 Not a huge drinker at all, but during the summer, I CRAVE a nice chevela. Mix together: Pour 1-2 bottles of Modelo Especiale (or negra) in a big cup (I put them in the freezer for a few mins before serving so they are nice and chilled) Add 2 tablespoons of trechas chili powder or something similar (might be hard to find this esp. if not in California) Squeeze 1/2 of fresh lemon juice (meyer lemon) A couple dashes of salt to taste Optional, a shot or two of tequila, patron silver is alway nice and doesn't overpower the flavor. Enjoy!

Doing 1/2 club soda will reduce calories and give it some refreshment. Delicious! I usually drink beer but out here in the desert where temps get 115+ in the summer, my refreshing summer drink is a vodka pineapple. Good with a splash of OJ too. Smash Boy Report post Posted June 2, 2014 Tanqueary & Tonic. Occasionally in the summer I like to make a cross between a standard Gimlet and a Gin & Tonic.... In a highball glass: 1 1/2 ounces Gin (Tanqueray (10), Hendricks, Sapphire, Blue Coat, New Amsterdam) 1/2 ounce Lime Juice (freshly squeezed limes work best over Rose's) top with tonic In a larger glass like a Collins, up the gin to about 2 ounces or so, maybe 3/4 on lime juice, and then fill with tonic. Muddle the mint in the lime juice to better extract the flavor with the citric acid. Then add clear rum 1.5-2 ounces. Then ice and simple syrup to top off. It makes a slightly sweeter mojito but tastes great. I also like Moscow mules. I bought the copper mugs for mine. Recipe. Sliced ginger muddled in a quarter squeezed lime's juice. Then add 2 shots high quality vodka. Add ice then fill with ginger beer. Fever tree is the hands down best. You can add a drop or two of aromatic bitters depending on how gingery you like it. Smash Boy Report post Posted June 2, 2014 Something worth mentioning that Captain pointed out is simply using better ingredients. A lot of drinks are just not being maximized, and it's easy to see how one can get jaded after awhile. So for instance a Margarita is normally: Tequila - 1.5 ounces Triple Sec - 1 ounce Lime Juice 0.5 ounce Sour Mix - top If you order this in a typical bar, you're looking at Cuervo, maybe Patron for Tequila. Standard triple sec, Rose's lime juice, and usually a pre-made sour mix. Not bad, but how about: Tequila - Don Julio 1942 (or whatever you Tequila buffs consider premier) Cointreau or Grand Marnier (Patron Citronge, ok) Freshly squeezed lime juice Home made sour mix - http://www.abeautifulmess.com/2014/01/make...n-sour-mix.html You can also add a drop or two of Blue Curaçao just for the color effect....the visual plays a big role in summer drinks. Salt or no salt, frozen or on the rocks, your choice. Not something you can make in 45 seconds, but will be worth it when done.
