my car is the best…lol

yeah i make a point not to hang out with Corvette guys.. a few are cool the rest are weird.. I did not buy the car to become buddies with them.

Agreed. I usually don't hang out with anyone who wears clothing that matches their make/model of car. Corvette guys are pretty much the most guilty of this since there are so many of them. Ferrari guys I am sure are guilty too (reference the thread we had on it).

At least no one has said anything bad about the car itself :D

I think Vettes are awesome for the $

More made, more probability of a d-bag owning one.

Hence why I don't do car shows. My responses would not have been nearly as nice.

You would have said "I can drink more margaritas and corona than you, bitch"

I remember I once was at a Corvette forum and found a thread by a guy talking about buying a Lamborghini. I was curious how the responses were going to go, but they surprisingly were all very positive to the guy. Things like (paraphrasing), "Corvette is a great car, but if you can afford a Lamborghini, by all means go for it!" and such. All positive talk about the Lambos. I would hope most Corvette owners are like that and not like the POS's one occasionally encounters.

Just the engine, converting the V10 design from a cast iron truck engine into a cast aluminum truck engine.

My understanding is that the Viper's engine was never a truck engine. The Viper V10 and the Ram's V10 were two different engines. Skip to 8:34 in this video:

That attitude is probably common, until somebody actually shows up with one and craps in the punch bowl....

They are, aside from the displacement and number of cylinders they don't share any common parts. Though ironically the early vipers (gen I and II) were full of parts from other dodge vehicles, ignition coils from minivans, etc. Gen III+ are larger displacement and a number of changes through the later generations.

It still surprises me all the hate the Viper gets from guys who love the CT and Diablo, it should be right up there alley.

I guess you didn't sense the sarcasm. Early Viper engine is 400hp from 8 liters, it's a truck engine in a car.

Had no idea you were being sarcastic.

I purchased my first Lambo last September, a 2013 LP 550-2 Spyder. I live in Texas, a town of around 100k so it's noticed wherever I go. I do my best to act in a humble grateful manner, allowing people to take pictures, kids to sit inside for photo's, etc. I have since gotten to know some of the local "gearheads" as they refer to themselves. As a result I have learned quickly that speed is their only concern. All want to "race" me but I don't. I did toy with a guy going down the street one evening though we were neck and neck, I never left 2nd and I have a feeling he flipped his "juice" switch. I will say I was nervous as heck because cops are everywhere and the last thing I wanted was to get pulled over. No sense in running cause they all know who I am and where I live. I have gotten to know him a bit and he's a great smart guy and knows how to build a motor.

Moving on. There is one guy who has a GTR that is arrogant as crap. He boasts he has the fastest stock car around town and boasts of speeds up to 180+ on these local roads. He's an ex-military guy (we have a base here) who often states he does not have to work but has his part time gig at the local Pep-Boys to keep him from being bored. He "knows" he would out run my G as all his Japanese made gadgets about "boost" this and that assure him of it and he probably would but... My car is a Lamborghini, his is a Nissan. I am sure one day he will be mouthing off and I will say just that.

Heck, as I tell these guys, there will always be someone out there that's faster and I refuse to acquire the obsession of having to have the fastest. They ask me how fast mine will go, I tell them all the specs are on the Internet, it does what it does.

As for these POS POS owners, such a piece of crap those cars are, seriously. Yeah, Joe Bob's "Ultra-Turbo'ed Spin Cycle" POS will probably out run my G but again, mine is a Lamborghini, his is a chevy...

GTR... Unless somebody knows what it is, it's just another Nissan going down the road. $100k? Well I spent more than that on my Range Rover.

POS POS... They're a dime a dozen.

Ferrari... Saturated with different models.

I can park my car next to a GTR, a POS POS, a mustang and a Ferrari. I guarantee the Lambo get's the most attention. Recently on a trip to I was in Monte-Carlo and parked in front of the Casino was a Huracan, one Aventador, probably 10 or so Ferrari's. The Lambo's got 99% of the attention.

My point? All these old geezers can hem and haa all they want about how good their vettes, GTR's and crap are but ya know what? They're not Lamborghini's. They trash talk because they can't have one and it's their way of justifying their financial failures.

... I did take the GTR owner for a spin one night. He may have all the pretty screen gadgets Mr. Miagi telling him how his car is performing but I have the open air and the unmatchable roar of that sweet Lamborghini engine sitting behind me along with the precise mechanics only Lamborghini can provide.

unfortunately I think it's just the way a lot of people were raised. Rather than appreciate the fact that someone has worked hard enough to purchase a Lamborghini, they immediately go into justification mode of why they don't have one. I used to be a HUGE C0rvette fan until I upgraded to a G and saw people's true colors. Lots of folks on the V3tte forum said my parents bought it for me, that I apparently went to law school and my parents probably paid for that too, etc etc.. It was seriously out of control and I'm not interested in surrounding myself with people that only want to bring you down.

It's tough because I think a lot of us in the Lambo community are just super chill guys that are not in to showing off but it's next to impossible to come off that way driving the cars we do. Very unique sort of catch 22 in my opinion.

To elaborate about the old geezers. I mean you're in a freakin Countach! What, less than 2000 made, 1900 or so in the whole wide world! Of those how many are actually still around? I bet those old geezers had the poster or their kids had the poster growing up. The car is iconic! Forget technology. It's easy to look at what we have today and judge the car on what it "lacks". Wannabe's want that car so bad that they go out and make replica's. How many replica ve++s are out there.

Here's a little story I posted on my FB page last month. Mind you I had NO interest in the car. I wanted to make a point by walking inside the dealership appearing in a certain manner. I never dreamed I would be totally ignored. I figured at the very least a sales person would talk to me about the car and I would ask for a test drive and be denied because I was in jeans, work boots and drove up in my pick-up and deemed unqualified to drive a ve++e. The plan was to come back in the Lambo and shove it up the @$$!

----

I was told the local Chevy dealer had a Corvette Stingray on the floor for sale. Yesterday I walked in, looked around, peeked into locked cars, stood and looked at the Stingray all for a good ten minutes. Not one time was I approached by sales or anyone asking if I could be helped. In fact When I walked in the door, the girl sitting at the reception desk was just day dreaming. While there I noticed sales people in their offices on the phone, texting, clicking at their computer. While I did not approach anyone for help, I feel like I made it very obvious I was there for a purpose. I eventually left, walking by the receptionist who had nothing to say.

Around 20 minutes later I returned, walked in the door and was promptly greeted by the receptionist and a sales person who had been sitting in his office texting during my earlier arrival.

What changed? Why the sudden attention? Surely not because the first time I arrived I was in my ole pickup and the second time I was in the Lambo....

I went postal at that point. I said "Don't you remember me, I was just here!" They denied, saying they were all very busy. I looked at the receptionist and told her she just sat there day dreaming when I arrived and left, not a word. She said she must have been on the phone. I said no ma'am, you were not. I looked at the sales person and said you were sitting in your office texting, I was standing right in front of your office and you had no intentions of approaching me. He said he was texting with a "customer." I said sure you were. He went and got the manager. I told the manager I had been there a bit ago, walked in and was totally ignored, I just arrived back and was greeted right away. I told him it wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that upon my first arrival I arrived in my pickup and now I am in my Lamborghini. He looked at me and said in a smart ass tone "You have a Lamborghini, where is it?" I pointed outside and said right there. He said, "Wow, can I take a look?" I turned around, opened the door and as I was leaving told him there are plenty of pictures on the Internet he could look at, got in and drove away.

haha... I know, I am an ass...
