capt_chaos Report post Posted September 17, 2014 I knew you would. My problems with it though are garage space and the sofa position with regard to the tv. Seems like a last minute fit in job. You are either side on the tv or other people would be in your way. Even if I sit and take in the view that would still irk me. Else the materials used and general design are just spot on and really well done.

Fortis Report post Posted September 17, 2014 I want a block of dirt perched on a top of a mountain like that but where I live it's hard to find something with a view like that

HannibalACP82 Report post Posted September 19, 2014 This is going to be a fantastic thread. This remodel happened while I lived in DC. I LOVED driving by this house. I will have to find my old "SPACES" magazine and scan the article on it. http://www.bethesdamagazine.com/Bethesda-M...na-ranch-house/

Fortis Report post Posted October 16, 2014 I love it! In the next 10 years or so I would like to do a small holiday home/retreat along the same lines I just need to find a nice plot.
rmtn Report post Posted October 16, 2014 I love it! In the next 10 years or so I would like to do a small holiday home/retreat along the same lines I just need to find a nice plot. Some one on Oz did this: http://www.dezeen.com/2014/09/09/vertigino...over-precipice/ Not sure if it's actually built of just a concept. gLA Report post Posted October 16, 2014 they haven't done it yet. Its just a concept. I'm no geologist or engineer but I think the hardest part is going to be buying a piece of coast line that has the right stone to drill into. I'd definitely live there though, if they designed a decent garage. What type of eccentric, semi recluse would allow his slab to sit out in the elements? key03 Report post Posted October 17, 2014 This building is topped out now. Not a fan of the design, and better views from inside looking out, than the opposite.
rmtn Report post Posted October 17, 2014 In that buildin I would not want to be at top. Middleway to 2/3rds up would be cool. That would be on level with tops of other highest buildings or little above. Up there you cant see inside other buildings and everythig at ground is too small... Griza Report post Posted October 17, 2014 This building seemed to pop up out of nowhere. I drive to the city and queens almost daily and one day I was like wtf? It just seemed to all of a sudden be there. It is the tallest building by far where it is located, very tall and thin.
rmtn Report post Posted October 17, 2014 And that's where the obscure amounts of money come into picture. Making very tall and very thin 'scrapers for select few is quite new thing. I don't know if it is good thing but it surely creates bold buildings. WheelsRCool Report post Posted October 18, 2014 Regarding the cliff home, I would prefer a conventional mansion on a cliff, that would be cool.
