  1. I still have my '03 MB Murcielago here in Bend, Oregon. It was not the Maloof car...it was formerly Kevin's car and before that belonged to Alex from SP Engineering.
  2. Thanks for the kind words Derek! I'm really glad you were able to drive the car as well.
  3. Do you mean Ted S.? That's funny, I know him from the RWB community, but had no idea he owned this car. I'll contact him directly and get the lowdown. Thanks to everyone for the feedback!
  4. This pearl white '87 QV has been for sale for a while. It's basically my dream Countach configuration, and I've noted the asking price slowly declining over time. Anybody know anything about this QV? Thanks in advance. https://www.ebay.com/itm/232479977091
  5. I don't think there is a lot of upside for the '08 Superleggera; I think it might appreciate a little, but not too much. It has very limited production numbers, but it's not really the "end" or "last" of anything like the Murcielago SV is. I think the current perceived upswing in SL pricing is just the normal Spring price increase. I think most SLs will sell for around ~$135k during the prime selling season.
  6. I would love to know as well. They accepted the offer on a Wednesday; I asked to place a deposit, but they told me it wasn't necessary. I spent Thursday trying to make PPI arrangements; Friday morning they emailed me "I'm sorry to say that the Superleggera was sold as of last night. Matt had a client from a few months ago that finally decided do it." I'm assuming that was your friend. Is he happy with the car?
  7. I had a deal for $125k on the orange '08 SL that was up in Portland, but the dealer sold it out from under me.
  8. What would be a fair purchase price range on a clean no-stories / no-issues orange '08 SL with 15k and steel brakes? Thanks in advance
  9. I vote for SL or STS; I confess I've never liked the Performante paint scheme.
  10. Damn that's pretty. Wish there was an option for traditional weaved carbon though.
  11. Wow, that was a great price for that car...given the difficulty in finding a 6-speed manual in Verde Ithica, I'm surprised it wasn't higher.
  12. Is there anyway to just remove the alarm/immobilizer system on an early Murcielago entirely? It seems like the system causes more issues than it solves.
  13. So did Roy's silver '81 lowbody not sell/make-reserve?
  14. I wouldn't put those on my Murcielago, but I would put them on my other cars (STI, Supra, etc.). I think if you could make an "Idlers" one in the appropriate font, it would strongly appeal to the RWB crowd (myself included). That is admittedly a very small market, though.
  15. This is my old car that I had for six years. The car came to me described as having aftermarket Koni springs in the rear that lowered the back 0.5 inches. I absolutely love what you're doing with the car, by the way.
  16. I've had her for over a year, but I guess it's time to request official owner status.
  17. Is the orange Murcielago for $140k-asking listed somewhere?
  18. Is there anything wrong with orange car? If you could get an manual orange Mucielago for $135-138k, I would say that's a great deal. I don't think you would lose money on it in five years even with a clutch change.
  19. Congrats Allan...the car looks great in red!!! How much different is the clutch compared to other supercars -- is it much different to drive?
  20. Just to play Devil's Advocate here, I think the time of being able to snag a perfect early/manual Murcielago for a "reasonable" price has passed. While I have no delusions that the manual Murcielago is going to veer off towards Countach/Diablo valuations, it is clear that they're in demand. If a manual Murcielago is what you want, I think you have to be willing to accept buying one without full service history and that might have some (fixable) issues, or pay top dollar to pry a top one out of someone's hands. In my limited 10 years of buying exotics, I've bought some with full service history and some with none; I've never personally observed any correlation between unexpected maintenance and known service history (although full disclosure, I don't put a ton of miles on my cars). I think the most important thing in buying a car is lack of accident/paint history (you can never change this), then cosmetic condition (much harder to fix), and then mechanical condition (less hard to fix and definitely doable, even if $$$). Get a PPI...hell, if you're really worried, get two. PPIs are intrinsically crap-shoots anyway; they'll catch some things and miss others. Fix what they find after the fact. But I think to be able to land a manual Murcielago, you have to be willing to accept a car that isn't perfect to some degree...but trust me, you'll be happy you did.
