  1. You forgot to mention the 16/23 MPG, it's almost practical. I mean why even have a sound system in an all carbon car, it is gonna sound echo-y and tinny like farting on a plastic patio chair. Anything to drown out the sound of those sirens, right? Aside from that, it is insanely impressive. I think I spoke with them right around the new year's break. They were building a few D110 "Spectre Edition" at a deep discount but they wanted you to buy the car and leave it close to the shop to show off to other prospective buyers.
  2. He was battling Parkinsons https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Benja..._Harrison#Death
  3. I love dogs. This beast is named Monster and my friend that owns him told me (that's an AirBnB guest in the pic) to take food from his bowl while eating the day I met him. I did and he looked so sad it was pathetic. The HOA had him seized and wanted to have him put down unless he got this certificate that he was a good doggo, so I paid for it. In the testing they accidentally kinked his tail and he curled up crying like a big baby in a stranger's lap. He obviously passed with flying colors. He was also from a fighting line but like a lot of Staffies, lives up to the "nanny dog" reputation. Another friend that looks like a total stoner has a rosy pit. She is an absolute sweetheart but can be grumpy, and if you raise your hand over your shoulder she yelps and curls up because she was abused. She likes to mouth you, sometimes taking your whole hand in her mouth like a lollipop. That is a big tense sometimes and I never fully trust her.
  4. Lambos are ostentatious, you'll get attention. Deal with it. Today at Best Buy a bald man carrying a small child spent an hour wandering the store while wearing a sheer, and wayyy too small white sun dress. I saw a lot of man nipple today and this person had no cares in the world what they were putting out there and they were not doing it for attention. I also saw a homeless man leaning up against the wall in the *Chipotle parking lot taking a shit reading the newspaper. Neither cared what others had to say but I am sure they were keenly aware of what others were seeing and proceeded. If you can't handle attention being out in an exotic, get the wildest car of your dreams, wear a sheer sundress while doing it (freeball for bonus points) and I guarantee you everyone will leave you alone. *Note to SupercarAce, avoid the Chipotle and Panera in Sherman Oaks.
  5. Pitbulls are a "statement pet". They have a reputation and you want to project being a badass, or you have this rehab delusion. It is a Jurassic Park thing. We can create and control monsters through generations of breeding them to be killers, than the audacity of human ego to think all they need is love to overcome it all. I have met/fostered some lovely dogs in this category, but I won't let one in my room while I am sleeping, I certainly would not startle one and I would never own a pet famous for locking jaws and their legendary tenacity. It is not a pet for me, and I am not going to prevent anyone else for owning one, and I am not an "I told you so" kind of guy, but just know I am thinking it. I honestly wouldn't bat an eye if they ceased to exist.
  6. Buddy of mine got a rescued former bait dog. She's a gorgeous rosy pitt. When TX arrested the guys, they fined them to make sure she had free vet care for 3 years! My mom has a minpin hat almost had her skull crushed as a bait dog but she is fine now, aside from on detached retina. She is nervous around pitts bigtime and yelps as soon as she sees one.
  7. Ok, so here is my problem. I have multiple (open) offices, and I don't want to go nuts kitting them out. Office #1 is quiet, like "A Quiet Place" kind of quiet, though I have large desk space. Currently that is a Fiio E17 and E10 system, works well, but showing it's age. The other office is noisy with a small footprint. Headphone jacks just don't cut it, and after a lunch with LV Eric, I tried out a Chord Mojo, then a Hugo. Very nice units, not what I want to leave in either place for extended periods and I found myself looking down the rabbit hole of audiophilia. Fiio has the new X7 mkII, a nice little unit, small footprint. Cranking it up to overpower noise at #2 is going to distort a bit too much. I may make space or mod the desk to support the Marantz, M-Dac, possibly a Cambridge unit, or the lowly Teac, but I wanted to step back a second and get some opinions. I am thinking I'll spend sub $1k on my DAC/Amp combo, if someone breaks it, I won't have to murder them. Schiit is not far from here, I could give them a shot. So what are some of the set ups you guys use or suggest?

Chuck Rhoades is a worm, but we are now on the flip side with him being in the doghouse now. That end scene makes me less enthusiastic about another season. I predicted it a year ago
  10. This guy is a real breath of fresh air in the world of car vlogs. I love his Alpine A110 video.
  11. Watched it in my office this week and enjoyed it. A lot of shots were composed to look like old shots from the first two films, like the desert scenes, which was a nice nod for cinematography nerds. The one truly refreshing thing was the lack of merchandise they were trying to sell us.
  12. Nah, that place was 2 Countaches and some weird stuff from the show, plus some merch to buy. Down the road right there is Welder Up as well. Never heard of them, apparently they had a show and produced some ratrods with some welding talent. There is one of the 1960s TV Batmobile replicas there. Combined the shops had maybe 30 cars. Good people, just nothing to see there, not the showrooms from the TV shows. Honestly, the car spots in Vegas are not interesting, Shelby is ok because you see them building cars and the merch is stuff you'd want to own, but the rest are not much more than a free way to waste 15 minutes.
  13. LV Eric is around here somewhere... Doubtful kids will enjoy being outside to see the damn! and canyon, if you can afford the chopper tours over the canyon, esp with the landing (~$2k for a family of 4), or even just the strip at night, do it. I took my dad about 2 months ago, Nuke testing museum (esp when the bus tours go to the test sites), Mob museum (get the "experience" package and shoot at fake bad guys) these are the best museums in town to kill a few hours. We learned anything related to any TV show is terrible. Usually a warehouse in an industrial park, almost never worth it, but we saw maybe 10 museums in a 4-day weekend. They might enjoy container park for a few hours, and the Donut Bar (just for the experience), but get there at 8am before they sell out for the day. Then zipline in Fremont for a ton of fun after dark when the neon is lit up. Try the Neon Graveyard/Museum, but book now, no walk ins and they fill up fast. Valley of Fire and Red Rocks drives are nice too. If you drink with your son, go to Atomic Liquor and ask about the history of the place, grab food next door with the family. Also Frankies Tiki Room is a classic tiki dive bar, one of the best around, I always grab a tiki mug on any trip. If you like mobsters, try Capo's Speakeasy for some decent Italian food and the old mob-vibe. Hashhouse-a-go-go serves big portions, I take tourists there, you'll talk about the portion sizes for a while. Of course there is a ton to do on the strip but all the shows look the same to me now and I am not in to gaming.
  14. That was the "secret" location of the Enola Gay for many years. Bockscar is in Ohio. https://airandspace.si.edu/collection-objec...tress-enola-gay
  15. That does look cool, thanks for sharing! Wright-Pat is always a fun visit.
  16. I am looking forward to that and Arrested Development in 2 weeks, though, I am also ok with it being their last season. Esp with Tambor's sexual harassment getting him fired from transamerica
  17. right?! I was drawn in very quickly, many sided story at a strange time in history. I tried Alias Grace and got bored fast. Might have been ok as a stage play, not as a series.
  18. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/cann...latform-1111562 Yes, a movie about Ferruccio is on it's way with Antonio Banderas in the title role and Alec Baldwin as Enzo. I know a guy that knows a guy that said they have already begun filming something but he thought it was the Enzo story.
