  1. And Scott Weiland as well if you want to include STP. Sad.
  2. Would be very useful to know what size tires he was running that allegedly caused the problem?
  3. It may have been an issue with the Murci and some other AWD cars but must not make nearly as much difference with the Huracan's AWD system, as the OEM rear tires are almost an inch and a half taller than the fronts (27.2" v. 25.8"). Well outside the 2% variance that is often cited as acceptable.
  4. I think what Peter is talking about is the KW HAS setup, which for the Huracan is sold exclusively through Novitec and most people just refer to as Novitec "springs." But it actually also includes an adjustable spring perch, which works with the stock shocks. Not sure how wide the adjustment range is but you can take it pretty low if you want.
  5. Have any of the mag shocks on the Huracan been failing? The ones that have failed on the Gen. 1 R8's do not appear to be related to use or miles, so I would have expected there to be reports about Huracan shocks failing by now if they were faulty also.
  6. He lost me several posts back when he mentioned the "haves" might need to "take" a bit less out of the pot. Where is this pot the "haves" get to take out of? I'd like to know because I can always use a little extra money. I have found that the more I make the more I have to pay, both as a percentage and overall. Maybe this pot is held up by the "have nots" and you have to step on them to climb up to take out of it. Good grief.
  7. Not sure if this came up in prior threads on this issue (which I haven't read), but I'm pretty sure I read something recently about some changes to the track that made all cars few seconds faster on it? Perhaps that accounts for some of the improvement.
  8. And while we're on the subject, "the smoothness of the transmission" is another thing said by no one ever. The GTR may have the clunkiest DCT ever put in a car. It might be "smooth" compared to an automated manual (E-gear, F1, etc.), but as DCT's go it is not smooth at all. I get the distinct impression that you're doing your best to learn about cars but that you just don't have much real world experience with a variety of cars. Which is fine, but isn't a foundation for launching a social media platform talking about cars. JMO.
  9. Watch the video. The stock exhaust is "so loud!"
  10. So was it a Huracan or a Gallardo? That last link says a white G.
  11. Um, no. Anyone who considered Gorsuch a "less predictable" conservative than Hardiman (and I haven't seen anyone but you make that assertion) doesn't know much about them. They both appear to be solid conservatives based on their judicial record, but as between the two of them Gorsuch is regarded as easily the most like Scalia in his approach to Constitutional interpretation (in that he is an originalist who relies on the meaning of its text at the time it was drafted). So I'm not sure in what sense he would appear to be "better" than Scalia, unless "better" means "very much alike."
  12. You say ridiculous stuff like that and then tell people they should go read a book? Perhaps it is you who needs to go read a book? Maybe a world history book? Start with the sections on Mao Zedong and Stalin. Then there was this guy in Germany . . .
  13. WTF is a white Hispanic? Never heard that term until the NYT hung it on George Zimmerman, who I think may have been half-white and half-Hispanic or something.
  14. Not sure if this is what you're talking about and you probably know this, but I've noticed a little clunkiness after coming out of park on my wife's C63, and it's because the car automatically engages the parking brake when you put it in park, and then automatically disengages it once you apply the accelerator in drive or reverse, which can be a little clunky sometimes if it doesn't release at the very first hint of pressure on the accelerator. Now if you're talking about clunkiness when you've already been driving (like stopped at light), that's another issue.
  15. That's awesome. Great to see someone driving the heck out of their TT on the roads as well as events.

    Lasik

+1. I'm nearsighted and even though I have experienced some presbyopia over the last 10 or so years can still read just fine without glasses, and the only reason I've never had LASIK is because correcting my myopia will force me to use reading glasses for anything up close. And I spend more time reading or looking at things up close (computer, Kindle, actual paper documents, etc.) than I do doing other things where it would be nice not to wear glasses. Tough call.
  17. I thought Bernie at least had principles too at one point (albeit bad ones), but now that the email stuff has come out (not just the Brazile stuff but the raft of other things in the emails like plotting to push the false claim he is an atheist, HRC herself saying many of his supporters were lured in by his false promises because they are young and poor and live in their parents' basement, etc.), it's kind of hard to argue he isn't just as corrupt as she is. I say that because he's out campaigning for her and urging her election, and he not only hasn't criticized anything that has come out, but has actually defended the Clinton camp. So in the end he's just another political hack.
  18. A lot of the R8's problem is tires, as they mentioned how greasy the PZeros were compared to the R compound tires on several of the other cars. But that said, the Chevys (both the Grandsport and the Camaro SS) are terrific handling cars, so I don't question the numbers, other than to note that different types of tires do make a significant difference for the cars that were on true street tires like PZeros or PSS's etc. The American cars are really tremendous bangs for the handling buck, but obviously there are some other tradeoffs at such low price points.
  19. Wow I can't even imagine what going to Arlington would be like--that would make an emotional occasion even more so. The bike craze has really been on the uptick here in NE TN, which is a great thing overall, but we're also starting to see bikers out on our local versions of Tail of the Dragon (which itself is pretty close by). While I can understand the appeal of climbing steep, curvy mountain roads, I also think they're nuts, as everyone knows fast cars and motorcycles go there to play, and it's just a matter of time until someone takes a blind curve at 40-50 mph and runs the heck over one or more of the bikers. It has definitely slowed me down some as I don't want that someone to be me! Let me know if you're ever up this way again!
