  1. Seriously... cry me a fcuking river. Lets see them get by on an average American's salary for a few months and then reevaluate their situation.
  2. People much smarter than me are catching on that VR has some legs and Nvidia is a critical part of its execution... price target raised 30% by Jefferies yesterday. http://blogs.barrons.com/techtraderdaily/2...ns&ru=yahoo
  3. Like they would care. That would have the same financial impact on them as I would from spilling my iced tea at lunch. I wonder if diplomatic immunity would protect them from a pissed off neighbor putting a bullet in them?
  4. Do what makes you happy. Just keep in mind the Viper will depreciate and the Diablo will do the opposite.
  5. Lease turn ins? I see about 5 of these a day so I'd imagine there is still room to go on the depreciation curve.
  6. If it worked, that would mean you have beer in your lungs and you probably want to head on over to the ER.
  7. Perfect response and, more or less, exactly the story I was expecting to hear. Personally, I love what you've done and hope you continue enjoying it for years to come.
  8. What does title look like after an engine fire? If the car is going to be salvage/rebuilt going forward then I think what the owner did makes a lot of sense. At least the car is back on the road rather than being stripped down for parts.
  9. I've been going to Telluride my whole life and have gotten altitude sickness twice. It is brutal. I had to crawl up a flight of stairs on hands and knees to get help the first time I got it. However, it is easily avoidable: Drink as much water as you can in the 24 hours leading up to and after arrival + alcohol consumption and strenuous activity to a minimum during the first 24 hours and you should be fine.

    Airbnb issue

Well, $1,000 US is equal to roughly $1,100 euro so I'd say you have a decent case for a charge back.
  11. Sounds like a great trip. You have chosen some excellent roads! I may be out in Telluride when you all pass through and I'd love to pop in and say hi. I'd ask where you're staying, but given the size of the town I'll probably be able to sit outside and figure it out with my ears
  12. Even better... put that trillion dollars towards something useful. How many air to air engagements has the US been involved in in the last 20 years?
  13. Ehhh, sound like this program has been around for a LONG time and this private corp (hence '.com' and not '.gov') just threw the Obama tagline on there for marketing.
  14. Is this an official release from Nissan or a magazine's rendering of what it may look like?
  15. You and me both. I'm looking for the next place to call home.
  16. Yup, its already happening. Condo developers in So Fla are doing virtual tours w/ Oculus in their sale centers. No flexibility, like your friend is doing, but its happening quickly. Drop in the bucket for FB. See my first post. There are mid-cap companies that poise to gain big from this.
  17. At this point, it is an incredibly niche product, but you can hardly even say its in its infancy since all of the hardware released is still for software developers. I had an Oculus Development Kit v2 and demonstrated it to friends and family and they were all blown away. These are people that had no interest in gaming, cutting edge tech, VR, etc, but they were all very excited about the possibilities that it had with a few years of refinement. One of the bigger, near future hurdles, will be input method, but Oculus just announced their new hand tracking controllers that look promising. The potential applications for this technology are, literally, endless; gaming, vr tourism, simulation, chat rooms, porn (I don't mean that as a joke, we know it will all be done) and on and on. I don't see it happening in 2 years and probably not in 5 years, but I'd imagine in 10 years virtual reality is a much larger business than the current video game and console market is.
  18. I've had a Nest Thermostat for a year or two and love being able to keep an eye on temp / humidity while out of town or turn the temp down while in bed if I get warm at night, but I have a big complaint in that it doesn't support remote temperature sensors. I'm in a 1 floor condo, so its not a huge issue for me, but I'd imagine this could be a big problem for people in 2-story, single thermostat homes. Given the Nests's connectivity, it seems like an easy fix, but they haven't responded to pages and pages to complaints from customers about it in their forums.

Louis C.K. summed up my opinion of the situation pretty well.
  20. I'm back and forth b/w the Grove and Beach, but its the best in the area. Not the quantity you get at Scarletts's, but good quality (I do miss the half hour parade). I've been with girls before and they approve. Its like every Miami titty bar, money speaks in the back rooms, allegedly.
  21. My old man was born and raised here and had a '72 Daytona back in his day. He picked up and left shop pretty recently. The whole "sex, money, drugs" thing is fun as a spectator, but gets old when it becomes your city's mantra.
  22. Used to be called the Alley Cat. Right near The Collection in N. Grove / Gables area. Top quality staff and lackluster backroom security on weekends.
  23. Agree 10,000%, but you seem to have forgotten Playmates and Yardbird.
  24. Great summary of the industry, but like I said; it doesn't matter who wins the HMD race if you're investing in the hardware that powers it. I also think mainstream adaptation is more than 1 year out. It is going to take more than 1 killer app before jane & joe schmoe pony up $1,500 for the experience.
