BLK85 Report post Posted October 5, 2009 After reading the legal mumbo jumbo posted earlier, a more appropriate real estate comparison would be to say that he was telling people he'd sell them a 2 acre waterfront lot on a deep saltwater canal for $1,000,000 and asking for money up front, only to have the buyers find out after they paid that what they actually got was a $500,000 1/2 acre lot that backs up to a pond. There appears to have been a definite and willful effort to mislead the consumer. I recall a thread somewhere in which he states he had legal issues with his previous business and paid all the fines, but no amount of mea culpas and fines can change the fact that he wrote a business plan that said something along the lines of "1. send mailers... 2. collect money... 3. rip off customer..." IMO, trust is something you earn. Once you lose it, it's gone for good. I'm sure he'll come up with another plan and land on his feet. Just like the other guy here who got shut down in one state for ripping people off, then moved to another state to start the same rip-off business. These guys are shameless opportunists who don't deserve to be pissed on if they were on fire. People will continue swinging from their nutsacks of course, which is a bit of a shame. Yes someone cleared the details up with me. Aspects defiantly seem illegal to me and defiantly immoral(but immoral isnt always illegal). Why do people get into doing something like this? I mean Im sure at one point he had a legitimate business, but how does it end up where it is now? Do you just get lawyers that will tell you whatever they need to, to make money? Roman Report post Posted October 6, 2009 Sorry to be OT, but someone explain the whole Pantera thing to me. I came in too late! Let me see what I can do.... Panterra, Panterra, Panterra.... When I joined he was in his early 20s I think..... I think his tag line was "if I cant afford a real lamborghini, Ill build a kit!" And he totally meant it. Perhaps it would help to know that his SN is not a reference to the 70s era semi-exotic car.... I was under that misconception for a long time, and since the De-thomaso and Countach are intricately linked by history, I kinda liked him right off the bat. Then I learned hed never heard of the car.... It was a reference to the death metal band.... There was a great long thread about his car (some sort of 80s era domestic sedan that had long ago seen its better days....) Wasnt there a dead body in the trunk or some such shit? corporate666 Report post Posted October 6, 2009 I can see that you already siphoned all the facts that you need and you ready to read the verdict.. Yep, newspapers/website/TVs are very reliable source of information, thank you for passing judgement based on them, now we know Erik is a wedding crasher, who needs courts and jury when we read the ultimate truth in the inquirer or see it on TMZ. 1- Thousands of perfectly legal weddings take place in residential houses every given day 2-Which law? the "corporate666 Law" ? using the home commercially is VERY GODDAMN LEGAL when proper permits are obtained (don't ask me how I know and I won't tell you about the numerous porn flicks I shot in my previous house) 3-Hundreds and thousands of couples feeling screwed by different venues around the country all year round, you need the REAL FACTS to be able to pass judgement. Whats fair is fair. It's pretty obvious that my comments are based on the article as written. Eric is quoted in the article acknowledging that there were legal/contractual issues and that is why the venue was moved. Therefore, for you to suggest I am passing judgement too early, and then to pass judgement on my post, is frankly just silly. And if you do not have a permit to use the home for a wedding - guess what - IT'S ILLEGAL. Not by my law, but by the law of where he resides. It doesn't matter if it's "VERY GODDAMN LEGAL" because like you said, WHEN PROPER PERMITS ARE OBTAINED. So guess what - no permits, not goddamn legal. You talk about facts - are you saying the article is wrong and Eric did have a proper permit? Then why move the reception? Are you saying it wasn't moved? He says it was in the article. Are you saying the quotes attributed to him were not his words? That's a bold claim - any proof? I don't know what you mean about "whats fair is fair". If his neighbors are breaking the law and bothering Eric, then I feel bad for him about that, and I hope he gets satisfaction through the legal system for that. But it doesn't mean he can also break the law. Neighbors can be dicks - and his neighbors may very well be dicks. But if your neighbor does burnouts up and down the street all night long, it doesn't give you a free pass to break the law yourself. There is some comedy gold RE: Pantera over on f-chat as well. When I first was observing his posts, I figured he was a 13 year old kid. He would engage in the most idiotic arguments ever - like, whether a turbocharged Countach would outrun a POS Sledgehammer and which would handle better. His posts made your brain hurt. He's either the dumbest motherfucker the car forums have ever seen, or a comedy genius and we're all part of his act. I think it's the former, but I still can't reconcile someone being that dumb but still able to operate a keyboard.

Those of us who were here from the beginning will remember....Alexandru had almost ALL of us fooled for a long time...In terms of phonies, he was damn good at it. What about JimmyJ and that dude who claimed to own Allans yellow Diablo (I cannot remember his SN for the life of me right now..but he claimed he was making a fortune running his own custom auto shop)!!! capt_chaos Report post Posted October 6, 2009 that dude who claimed to own Allans yellow Diablo (I cannot remember his SN for the life of me right now..but he claimed he was making a fortune running his own custom auto shop)!!! Speedracer or similar. Total nugget. I swear he claimed he monitored the custom auto/bike shop via CCTV as it was a good couple of counties away. I am not sure if we get more pleasure from genuine owners that are normality disabled like the clown or Auctung than the maker-believers. Essentially we are a peanut gallery.
