That to me is a student designed reskin of what is on the current is on the current LP670 and is not moving things forward enough.

Looking at the second teaser and what has been said about moving material the fit and finish around the "trumpets" does not look like a carbon finish but more of a "skin" finish which makes me think of the technology used here

Hint from Lamborghini's R&D: superlightweight concept, under 2200 lbs (1000 kg).

http://www.autoblog.nl/archive/2010/09/16/...gewicht-concept

Poor Translation via Google:

Lamborghini is a 10 days ago started teaser for a some new model would be revealed at the Paris Motor Show . At first we thought of course immediately the successor to the Murcielago (project called " Jota ") , but seeing The second teaser we began it to doubt .

With that teaser , we have seen something that you can be perceived as a cover for the engine and it were 1910 holes. And a V10 belongs still more to a Gallardo than a Murcielagosuccessor . Then we got today message from someone with connections inside the R & D department of Lamborghini .

And who told us that the teaser actually does not come from a Murcielago successor, that we namely only in in March time the show Geneva . However, it would be a concept based on the Gallardo . And the special thing that concept is that the weight under 1,000 pounds will be .

It will if I at the teaser shots look mainly achieved through lavish use of carbon fiber . And very "accidentally "runs Lamborghini us lately regularly harassed with messages about how much knowledge they do not have that material.

Does not consider that this Supersupersuperleggera variant The Gallardo ever into production will go . Expect to change that Lamborghini this concept primarily will use as a showcase for their knowledge of carbon fiber . And they want to of course show how supercars in the future will look like .

you will concept Lamborghini probably most similar to the Ferrari Mille Chili Concept 2007

so unnecessary, this is what we can do but we will never do it :eusa_wall:

Yep. As soon as I saw the second teaser I knew it was over in terms of being interested in whatever it is.

Just another concept like the Miura, which will never be made, showing off technology that Audi would never approve a budget for, serving as nothing more than a distraction and design exercise for the artists.

Back to waiting for Geneva, or better yet, to waiting on those rumored "private showings" of an actual production model which supposedly are going to start next month...

Exclusive: New Lamborghini Models

Dealers to get first look at new V12 coupe and top-secret Lambo.

You know how Lamborghini has been releasing teaser photos of its newest model online, before the car’s Paris Motor Show debut? Well, it looks like the car maker may be bringing two vehicles to market. U.S. Lamborghini dealers are scheduled to head to Sant’#### next Thursday for a very special presentation—their first look at two different cars. According to the copy of the schedule we obtained, the company will unveil a car known as the “LB715-5″ along with something called the “83X.”

According to our source, the LB715-5 refers to the new V12-powered model designated to replace the Murcielago, colloquially known as the Jota. Details are still scarce at this point, but we know the car will use a direct-injection V12 and a carbon-fiber tub reportedly made by Carbo Tech of Austria, the same folks who build the tub for the McLaren MP4-12C. The “715″ may refer to the expected horsepower output of the car; we’ve also heard that an 825 horsepower version may be coming at some point. The LB715-5 will be priced somewhere around the half-million dollar mark, making it a good deal pricier than the current Murcielago, which starts at $354,000.

As for the 83X mentioned in the agenda (see below)…well, nobody outside Sant’#### seems to know what it will be. Popular rumor has it the car may be a Gallardo successor; however, there’s also speculation it could be a production version of the Estoque sedan, or even a GT car destined to butt heads with the Ferrari 599 GTB/GTO. But nobody knows for sure—not even our well-connected sources.

Either way, given the simultaneous unveiling for dealers on September 23rd, odds seem promising Lamborghini will be unveiling both cars to the public at the Paris Motor Show. (A double reveal could also explain why Lamborghini released a teaser image of a ten-cylinder engine when everyone was expecting just to see pictures of the new V12-powered model.) Given Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann’s August statement that a sedan would slot nicely into the company’s lineup, a production Estoque seems a strong possibility; however, the Gallardo is seven years old at this point, so a replacement for that car wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility either. (Keep in mind, Ferrari has gone through the 360 Modena, F430 and the 458 Italia in the time the Gallardo has been in production.) Hopefully we’ll have all the answers we crave after Lamborghini’s press conference at the Paris Motor Show…

Ok, so the Murcie successor is given the numerical description "LP715-5." So we know it's going to have 715 horsepower. What the hell the "dash-5" means though is anybody's guess. Maybe all-wheel-drive, plus a hybrid engine, i.e. a "fifth wheel?" Who knows.

HOWEVER, it looks like they'll be presenting TWO models to the dealers that day. What the hell is the 83X? The Estoque?

And why would they show two cars at once?

Could mean it has KERNS on it. Which would be awesome!

LB?

"Longitudinal Beside"

Instead of a passenger seat they're mounting the V12 to the right of the driver's elbow.

Well, they seem to be spending more time covering the 83X than the other car, which suggests it's the most commercially important product. On that basis, I agree with the article that it's most likely some kind of production development of the Estoque.

I think it's too early to be the new Gallardo, although we have now had the hardcore variant of the 560, which in the 5.0 and Murcielago came shortly before their retirements...

"LB"? "-5"? Given the horsepower it's most likely the new flagship or a concept car ('commercial info' makes the latter less likely). I can't find any Italian word for engine position starting with a B (or, just for the hell of it, hybrid/electrical/forced induction/hydrogen power cell/hover/flying/aquatic), so I'm putting that down to communication error ('B' sounds like 'P'). If it was front-engined, it'd be 'A' for anteriore or avanti. That calls into question whether there's any weight behind the '-5' as well - and, I guess, the whole designation...

Or it could just all be bullshit.

LB?

LB is nothing else than the internal abbreviation for all Lamborghini-cars inside the Audi-group. The number following describes the model. I however don't know what MF or MR means.

Because one of them, likely the 83X, is just a fantasy concept showing advanced carbon fiber implementation and weight reduction technologies that are years away.

The other is likely the Murcie replacement.

Which is fine, could give a shit about the concept batmobile or whatever it is, as it has no shot at production. Just show us the next Murcie. :icon_thumleft:
