Occupy a bathtub already

If thats indeed the case then we'll see it die down soon enough.

Not necessarily... The one has nothing to so with the other. There are ALWAYS small groups of fanatics.... They can stay out there for the rest of their lives if they want... It doesn't mean they have gained popular support. It just means they're insane.

Listen, each of these "occupations" is tiny.... There are a LOT of them, in like 30 cities, but each is tiny!!! Los Angeles had like 10 protestors.... ITS A CITY OF 10 MILLION PEOPLE. I can find ten people to protest breathing if you give me an hour and the possibility of being "edgy"...

Theyve lost Nima.... Their message has started to get out, and people are realizing what nutburgers they are.... So the mocking has begun.

They're a joke... http://www.tauntr.com/blog/occupy-sesame-street-gets-violent

The thing I find funny about all of this the fact what they want is exactly socialism and communism. I was young but I lived in romania during communism. In no way shape of form was there any equality like these people all want. The only difference was there was NO middle class. It was 95% poor people and some that were amazingly wealthy! My family did fine cause my dad new the right people and paid people off to have the lives we needed.

the other day I found out a old class mate from highschool is joining these dorks cause he doesnt like his job at office depot. If only people would go out and instead of complain about their situation get out and do something about it. MAJOR FACEPALM

Is there any law that would make it illegal for someone to go out there with a cricket bat with a nail through it and thrash away because you thought they were zombies?

I'm furious at Wall Street. Just go watch "Inside Job" and tell me you're not pissed. It's a mess. Big banks with no accountability, no regulations. But who's NOT somehow invested in Wall St.? (401k, Starbucks, your credit card, savings, etc). We all have a stake in this. The problem is that people get their issues mixed together, making a unified stand damn near impossible. Getting angry at everyone is not the solution. Big banks and big corps divide and conquer (GOP vs. the Dems), making it easier for them to move their agenda forward with big money invested in Washington.

And I'm not on any one extreme. I know the difference between capitalism and communism, so I don't want to be compartmentalized and put into a little box. I can have my big capitalist pie with servings of rational regulations and fair taxes. (I AM posting this on a Lambo board, with hopes of becoming a future owner). I think the big issue is the power of banks and the amount of risk involved if they fail. Failure to understand the importance of their potential failure could be our demise.

Look there is a host of shows and films out there that have an agenda when they set out to do something.

The underlining problem is that people fail to correlate what goes on in their world and what they perceive to be the other people. Take for example the photo which points out which corporation product is held by which "protester". They don't see that for years they have being pumping their money into a company, they have bought into the marketing campaign that corporation has spent millions on. They see a utopia, a utopia built by that company that they themselves have thrown money at.

But they fail to see that when the system was working they had no issue with this system.

Now all of a sudden they cannot afford to pay for that daily Starbucks coffee and mung bean and parsley muffin everyday whilst texting their equally materialistic friend and they think "ooooh mofo in a suit has ruined everything I have had in my life, it is their fault."

They fail to see that their hollow consumer greed was a major key problem in this International gang fcuk of a debacle.

Paying for non-essential non-assets on credit but hey that guy has a suit and a job he must be bad.

No he is the guy that is trying to shift money about trying to make up the deficit caused by buying up your non-bill-paying backside.

As an example, the BBC website ran a live commentary of certain events within the business industry that people can respond to via tweeter and text message. They did this when Obama and co were squaring out a deal for the new US package.

The off shoot of this discussion was markets in disarray because people did not know what currency to put their money into.

One guy text in effectually admitting that he knew nothing about the system but it was all the bankers gambling with his money that caused the problem.

How can you in one sentence say that you do not know about a system but in the latter part of the sentence apply blame on someone?

I am in shit state myself right now but I cannot identify with what these halfwit unkempt prats are doing because I am going into work everyday and slogging away rather than mincing about with a placard awaiting for a freebie handout.

I just know I have a better chance of reversing my problems by actually working rather than waving a banner in a city somewhere.

Agreed. Someone asked me if I was going to go to occupy a street in Indy to keep it alive here - I said "no, I'm working." I'm doing my best to get myself out of where I am and go to where I want to be. I have money invested in Wall St., and hope to have MORE invested there.

Can't agree with a blanket mass amount of people, and I'm sure the idiots on TV are not representative of everyone there. But you don't see me holding a placard up...

My question is - how the hell do we get the banks downsized and not holding so much power over us?

It is like the riots we had here in August. A genuine peaceful protest is piggybacked by opportunist blaggers and all of a sudden short sighted goons across the land jump on it thinking they are getting something for nothing.

This is what it is about from an "organizer" interview. She explains quite a bit - and it's not good for America.

If you guys don't care to see this stuff, I can stop. I just want to get more information to you.

I think this hippie has done too many magic mushrooms and is still hallucinating.

That kinda proves many of my earlier points in this thread.... Read those complaints.... Each of them is the same: "I have $100,000 in student loans, and Im unemployable." Which is then followed by the aside of "I hate corporations."

Its a complete non sequitor....

Try this out:

"I bought a 100,000 car. It wont start. Its totally worthless to me and I have to walk everywhere.... I hate NASA."

If you purchased any other product

Theyre pissed at the wrong people... They should be pissed at The Universities that ripped them off.

Heres a great example-

I am 44 years old. I’ve been married to the same man for over 20 years. I have 3 beautiful sons. I care for my elderly handicapped mother, I am college educated, I’ve worked hard my entire life. I am an artist, a graphic designer with over 20 years experience as a creative director. I was a small business owner for 11 years. Insurance went way up, rent went up, Utilities went up, the cost of living went up, while our earnings either stayed the same or went down for more work. The bank refused to give us a loan or a line of credit. All we needed was a little help for short amount of time. The bank left us and our employees twisting in the wind. We lost our small, family owned business, our life’s work - we lost our American Dream - or more aptly put, it was stolen from us. Not from poor decisions, not through lack of work, living beyond our means or lack of education, we did everything right, paid our taxes and worked hard. But we were bleeding money from corporate greed (insanely increased insurance rates, fees upon fees, unfair policies and ridiculous licenses demands.)

She didnt get screwed by corporate greed... She got screwed by Barrack Obama, and has no idea. Insurance rates have skyrocketed since the passage of "ObamaCare" I bitched about this 6 months ago.... Thatg fcuking bill has been the biggest assfucking Ive ever experienced... But then she bitches about "Fees upon Fees" The GOVERNMENT charges you "Fees" dolly.... and then its "Ridiculous License demands" GOVERNMENT requires "licenses" in the spirit of "regulation"(that shes calling for more of) Again- BIG GOVERNMENT FUCKED YOU BABY,... Not corporations.... And if you dont get that youre too stupid to have a business.

They should feel very very fortunate where they are and what they have.

I was wondering what the poor people in Africa and Some parts of Asia(middle east, China, India, etc) would say about this.

Again, Lucky these people are in US.

Some places the gorverments will tell you to go home first, if not they will arrest you.

America is a HEAVEN

Seems they are gonna be doing this in Toronto on Oct 15. Given the stability of our economy and seeing how well we have fared through the recession, they have absolutely no reason to be doing this.

Proof that all of these "protests" are ill conceived waste of tax payer money by idealist mongs.

It's like trying to herd cats. I haven't been paying attention to the protests - it's an unorganized mass of people with varying messages - from "I hate capitalism" and "Go Karl" to sensible people who DO understand capitalism/basic economics.
