WheelsRCool Report post Posted May 23, 2012 Casino Royale was to James Bond what the christopher Nolan Batman films are to Batman. Both ended the cartoon goofyness of those series and made them more realistic and serious. Quantum of Solace they should have continued with that serious theme I think, but instead they made it a classic Hollywood action film. It had a different director I think then Casino Royale. I hope they go back to the serious, hardcore theme with this film as I hate it when they make a serious film, and then they make the sequels strictly Hollywood and goofy. I don't often agree with you wheels but this is correct Also, just to clarify, TDK is the best movie ever to be made, period. If Rises tops it I will buy every member a snowcone WITH winsauce
Chipster Report post Posted May 24, 2012 Can't wait! I forgot about this movie because I know they ran into some production funding issue which caused delays so I didn't think it would be out for a while still.

soup Report post Posted July 31, 2012 I'm definitely not a fan of the latest James Bond movies. This just looks like a typical Hollywood action movie but not a Bond film. The director/writers have made it too serious, like Wheels mentioned, where is the fun and wittiness? I like the older movies the most with Connery and Moore. My all time favorite is "moonraker", but in those days everything was over the top and unrealistic or it even looked impossible (to build). Nowadays nothing surprises us, maybe that's one of the reasons why it has lost its charm. Oh and Daniel Craig looks like a beefed up midget, the guy has to be lying saying he's 5"10. As a bond afficianado I can tell you that Daniel Craig represents a new chapter in the Bond movie franchise. This Bond is actually the closest to Ian Fleming's original character. Fleming cast Bond as a character that is somewhat pyschotic, violent & dark . We are seeing that now in stark contrast to the suave (Sean Connery), the flippant (Roger Moore), the condesending (Timothy Dalton) and the rugged Bond (Pierce Brosnan). The series has gone from super fantasy to hyper action to now super realism. SKYFALL........I can't wait!!!!!!!

zack Report post Posted October 26, 2012 Well, the hype has been extreme - best Bond ever etc.... ..But..... I have to say it was good - well worth watching - a good balance of action, suspense & classic Bond one liners... yeah it was good
capt_chaos Report post Posted October 26, 2012 My Bond fanatic friend has been positively moist about it. A few scenes I have seen on TV have been a bit OTT on the effects. Bond falling off the train on the bridge and the Underground train scene leave me a bit Meh. The clip where Bond introduces M to the DB5 did make me say "Oh fcuking yes". Thing is I am not allowed to and watch it until a week on Wednesday as my friend wants to see it with me and it is the only date she can do. zack Report post Posted October 27, 2012 I'd be surprised if you didn't enjoy it. My one complaint would be that there is a central part of the plot that calls for you to suspend your disbelief.... well, that's putting it mildly... 'utterly preposterous' might be more on the mark... but to be fair I do find that to be the case with a lot of these types of films. Is it not possible to make film that has a plot that is both great and believable?

TRANSAMERA Report post Posted October 29, 2012 Saw it yesterday and it was a big fat MEEEEH, thank God for the Batman Trilogy, that is how you make movies, Nolan has fucked every other director out there, Sam Mendes should stick to filming 14 year old chicks in baths with red roses, that he is fairly good at. fcuk the new Bond, after Casino Royale which I really liked it is all downhill.. TRANSAMERA Report post Posted October 29, 2012 Rises, Begins, Dark Knight, in that order are the threee best movies ever made in their category. Bond, Bourne, Spideygeek, MI-movies and all the other crappy blockbusters we have been getting the last years are FAR FROM IT. Vahid Report post Posted October 29, 2012 Was invited to the IMAX premiere here. It felt too long and not a single memorable scene in my opinion. Looking forward to the Bluray release of The Dark Knight Rises just to loop the scene where he looks at the tablet and the music starts: dam dam dam dam dam daraam dam dam dam and all the cops arrive
