Saw it at midnight last night and LOVED IT!! :icon_super: :icon_syda: (just look at my avatar) as others have said javier Bardem was amazing as the villain not scary looking but just a little weird or off to make him creepy. I also like learning a little more back story to bond.

Roger Deakins did a few nice shots in Macau on the longboat with the dragon head and luminaria, but aside from that, the visual composition was lacking. The plot was just "alright". Nobody was in the production offices today, it looked like a ghost town. It won't do big numbers, but they had to put out a film. The crepy homo-erotic scene between the two was pointless, and I knew a former Russkie ank commander tossed in a military prison that told me the rat story, but in reality, only one rat would survive. I have to cross that one off my party anecdotes list, it used to slay them.

Good movie-nice nod to the old bond movies. Villain was good.

Bad:

-not enough gadgets IMO. Needs a new slick Aston in it if its a real bond movie

-a black Munny Penny?

-not enough of him being "the shit." This is a movie you should leave saying -"damn I want that guys life." I didn't feel that way.

-only bangs one hottie? They would have been through one or two by the time the long intro was done in the past.

-not a fan of the gay jaws character. Good character-just no need for the gay shit IMO

Saw it with my dad last night. The opening credits were very old school IMO and the music too. Could have used a little more action and if this was a one off movie, then maybe I wouldn't have liked it as much but knowing the series and that there will be another, I liked it!

Very good film. True fans of Bond will notice a dozen or more homages paying tribute to the 50th Anniversary. Starts with an old school intro and the clever plot comes full circle back to the padded door in M's office with Moneypenny at the desk. Love that the scotch was a '62... 50 years old.

Javier Bardem steals every scene he's in. Best villain since Heath Ledger in Batman.

Great show, tons of fun.

The "AB" on the shotgun is a nod to Albert Broccoli.

You have to be a fan of the franchise to go and see these films in the first place, even though they are non-linear and have almost no relation to one another, there are always little things you can spot. From Halley Berry in the bikini to the Vodka Martini, little things carry over, including the use of the DB5 this time around.

Thankfully this was not a giant commercial as some in the past became a BMW commercial when Pierce was Bond.

The rooftop chase was a bit much, we have seen this in a few movies recently.

Saw it Saturday night. I grew up watching Bond and I thought Skyfall was excellent. I would elaborate but I don't want to give anything away. Go see it!

I thought there were plenty of beautifully shot scenes. The skyscraper part in Shanghai with the lights from the buildings and signs. Bond and M standing next to the DB5 looking at the Scottish countryside. The reds and yellows and oranges after the explosion of the house.

i saw the film on october 31, first day on Italy: i liked it very much.

Daniel Craig is a great actor and he is as man as Countach is a great supercar.

Casino Royale was great, Quantum of Solace not much, this one is less spectacular than Casino Royale but it's even a better movie, imho. One of the best James Bond film ever, i would say the best since "Never say never", even if is a very different James Bond movie, with less special effects and more pathos.

An excellent movie, a must see.

ciao

Cracking film. Very good homages in places & the cinema photography work at times was brilliant.

There were some odd bits like the Underground crash but a very good Bond film.

I thought him driving along in the DB with M complaining and he flipped up the gearshift knob to reveal the red button was pretty funny.

Now to put the final nail on slowpokes dark night coffin...

I love both Batman and Skyfall.

I would far rather watch Skyfall again. Some of the most amazing visuals I've ever seen on film and the action scenes were incredible.

I agree...the homages were great! I was still trying to figure out how the new M came about though...

Saw it, enjoyed it. i did think it was light on gadgets and cars...but i did enjoy the DB5. i thought the villain was good...sort of the modern version of the guy with the white cat.

of course somethings where cheesy...Bonds always have some cheese, it comes with the franchise.

Its got a 92% on Rotten tomatoes (which is high for any movie) and its cleaning up at the box office...i'd say job well done.
