Did you see it in 3D?

no. While i am sure the 3D was awesome.. I don't think that would have changed the story. Felt like there was no substance to it.

Looked like shit when I saw the preview. And I hate Sandra Bullock.

:iamwithstupid: I make a concerted effort to avoid her movies.

The previews looked like Shit, guess my assumptions were correct.

Go buy "this is the end" dvd, stay home, and laugh your ass off.

The previews for this movie looked really really bad. Like it would just be 2 hours of Sandra Bullock's face.I was really surprised when my gf said this was getting rave reviews.

In the end we just ended up watching prisoners yesterday. I thought it was awesome. Acting and directing was top notch! Glad to see we dodged a bullet haha

Saw it in 3D as well and blew me away. One persons struggle with their own survival and no back story bullshiit to deal with. Not a big Bullick fan, but she did well in this role.

Vegasgtr is the only person who hasn't liked it. I talked to a few people who liked it.

He is not alone, as I found it boring. Yes, this was on a large screen in 3D.

I could see where the good film was trying to peek through, but it never quite crested the hill to get to that point for me. I think maybe with another actress I could have liked it...again, maybe. Sandra just didn't fit the character that could overcome what she did in the film, and that stayed with me as each event happened. Plus, the continued peril started to get a little silly for me. Yes, it was meant to be a non-stop roller coaster ride, but the "if it can go wrong, it will go wrong" just bothered me for whatever reason. It became, "Okay, now what?" after a while. I don't know.

Hell, I thought I was the only one that didn't like it; everywhere I look folks are raving about it.

I'm not a clooney fan or a bullock fan. Both are terribly weak actors that need a really strong supporting cast to make them shine. The American was fcuking awful along with clooneys other attempt at scifi. It was so shitty I forgot the name. Something like solstice. But if you have a large ensemble like in oceans, he does well. Put him next to bullock and it's a probably a movie disaster in a disaster waiting for the two of them to plummet to the earth. Don't care if its in 3D. Unless there are navi boarding the space station, looking for unobtainium, I think it will suck no matter the rave reviews say.

Did see Rush and that was a freakin awesome movie! Nicki lauda racing after getting burns like that is hardcore. If haven't seen it go watch!

I saw it on Friday in 3D with my Fiance and we both liked it alot. The 3D option for this movie is worth every penny, there were quite a few scenes where I found myself saying, "Wow, that was awesome". It was the type of action movie that now that I have seen it (and know everything that happens), I might not ever watch it again, but its definitely worth seeing once. Cool flick overall and the space shots were out of this world. :icon_mrgreen:

My wife and I saw it today in IMAX 3D. We both really like it!

I guess the 3D makes it that much better... I did not like the acting nor the story. It was not horrible just did not see why it got a 98% on rotten tomatoes..

SPOILER ALERT BELOW

The visuals were excellent. Gravity made me feel like I was in space but I hate Sandra Bullock. The fact that they killed off George Clooney so early was depressing because I'm not a fan of single character movies, especially not with Sandra Bullock. It was her typical role though, thrust into a situation where she is under-qualified and unfamiliar. I'd like to see a montage of how many times Sandra Bullock will repeat a phrase or word 3 times in frustration in all of her movies. Having seen Rush the week before, this was a big disappointment especially with all the hype.

That was Solaris, I remember watching it and thinking it was horrible, but I have no memory of it. I guess my mind forced it out it was so bad...

As for Gravity, I saw it yesterday. This movie has to be seen in 3D as it is all this movie has going for it. It's nothing but 3D CGI eye-porn, no story or "suspense" and the ending was just meh.

I have heard that the scenes of space are awesome, so I am very interested in seeing it for that.
