theres 2 sides to everything.

Yes there will be those people that will see the lambo and say "This guy is doing something right, let me see what hes about, let me get on his page"

on the flipside, there's people that will say "he drives an expensive car, he probably scams/steals/charges too much"

ive gotten both. I was 21 years old with a brand new Jag XJ.....it was easy to not like me.

I never use the Lambos around the employees, I use Mercedes and Rolls/Bentley. As the Lambo does send the wrong image.

i was tired last night and forgot to put that in when I just re-read my post.

otherwise it stands 100%

I was with a famous person in my Rolls a month ago perhaps a bit longer, he has had the cars too but his "likness" overshadows the cars so he didnt know about how to use cars to get what you want. in our case a front seat at a place we were eating that was just about to close.

I showed him the move, I said "thats a weak version of the celeb card" he said "fcuk yeak it is" , im not delusional it's much weaker than the celeb card. But point is Lambos(in that case a Rolls) open doors in life or give access to things(when played right(no being a jack-off) that you cant get in a Kia.

I created a car leasing leasing company in 02, i paid cash for everything, and would lease the different cars to different entities I owned. This turned them into livery vehicles and put them on a accelerated deprecation schedule. when they were deprecated I tossed them or kept them. Saved me millions on taxs over the years. My reason to the IRS which has held up 100% of the time. I use(d) flashy cars as advertising for my businesses. Curb appeal. IRS fully agreed. each and every car I have ever owned has been treated that way only if it was a head turner-except the Maybach 62 that was for clients. I'd match the car with who I leased it to with a specific purpose.

To this day I still do that, My house in Beverly Hills leases a Drophead Rolls from my leasing Company.

I used the Lambos back in the day for the companies that I owned that did the most advertising to the gerneal public. The Enzo clearly got the biggest Co as it was the most expensive.(I sold it because i was depressed about my back-shit!!!!!)

just cause i cant write or spell, wear shoes, has zero to do with my business acumen. Cars are smart olays if you make them smart, Selling Enzos because i was depressed was not my best move, however at the time i seen it 2 times in a year-I couldnt walk to the garage. My driver picked me up infront of my house. I hate having a driver BTW.

So that article is this:

A very weak poor explanation of how cars can be used as business tools. And Lambos again are not to be seen by employees, then they think your making too much $. they expect a Rolls or Benz. Thats harder to hide now than before. But how often do you see my lambo pics? thats not a accident and it aint me posting them. Or on social media, if they are there it aint me. I think its poor form to post pics of your toys too often. Exception is Fortis house project thats a documentary and he is kind enough to share.

When you get a new car sure it's fum to post pics. I'm way over that as i've had so many cars i dont post new ones, i might mention them, for first time buyers-post away a dream came true. When I get my yet to be ordered(and yes they can be ordered) I'll post a pic of it infront of hhe casino in Monte Carlo. And use that car in Europe/Hong Kong as a way to meet people(the right people) like i said before it's fairly accurate indication of how people respond-determines if they are good canadates to do biz with. Some people are oblivious to cars(that must be a horrible way of life) so its not 100%. But I look at the person while they looking at my car-man you get a good read with that.

heres a good example that woudnt work in LA cause to many Lambos. but in areas where the are scarse. You talking to a realestate agent about a multi million dollar deal say a building or shopping center. If he sees the car and knows about but dont blow a nut(the nut blowers are usually the 'first real car i ever saw') people. Do you want that person as a agent? or the guy who says "yeah I had a Murci a few years back then got married"

Thats one of s million scenarios of how to use cars to read people, dont look at the car with them, look at them looking at the car. That information there is raw uncensored and you are giveing yourself a chance to see who your really doing biz with. As they forget they are at work. We all know this, how do you feel whrn you fire up your car? Your guard is down, your enjoying the moment. Same for the guy looking at it. theinformation you can get from that 5 minutes is huge. Sometimes I let them look and take them out before they are finished and then go back later and get a 2nd read.

Getting a "read" on people in business as most of here know is critical, I figured out cars causes people to let their guard down and I get reads.

THAT'S HOW THAT ARTICLE SHOULD BE WRITTEN.

for me i've said this for years 90/10 ,,,,,,, 90% of the time it's for me to enjoy, or use for busines. 10% of the time its for showing off FU I got it you dont. Sometimes that 10% can happen over 3 days and for a year its all biz. that's just me.

Theres lots of very smart people here, who hammered that article, it's intended purpose was correct, it was poorly written, LOL thates the joke of the day-me criticizing someone else s writing.

hope i gave some one a bit of insight, my apologizes for being long winded, but examples and reasons were necessary.

i'm barefoot too, ;)

Your baby is more interested in the Lambo than the camera :icon_thumleft:

You are assuming it is his baby. I wouldn't be surprised if he saw a mom walking down the street and asked to borrow the baby for a photo shoot!!! Ma'am...I am doing a photo shoot with my Lambo and my employees and all that is missing is a baby. Can I borrow yours for a few minutes?

UNCENSORED= I love it LV Eric

I agree it can be good or bad depending on how you play it out. I haven't thought about the High end Luxury vs Exotic card much as I just can't suck up the $$ to say that I should buy a Rolls Royce instead of a fun Lamborghini. I may have to one day if I can figure out how to make it work for me.

Thanks for the interesting angle.

i had a Lambo 3 years before my first Bentley, and 5 years before my first Rolls.

If your in a biz where a certain presence is needed, a S class Benz is a good starter, Thats what I did, then Grew into the Bentley/Rolls category.

I had the Lambo on the DL the whole time, LOL I should have put biz first. But I couldnt help myself.

thank care

I agree with what you said, I've always thought the same way. You can gauge how a person would be like to do business with from the first few mins of seeing how they react.

Always enjoy reading your posts, they're always entertaining.

thanks man,

its so true, if they act like a little kid or monkey-i can't do business with them.

If they never seen a car or don't have a fcuking clue what they are looking at, i can't do business with someone that out of the loop or trying to act "too cool" they aren't honest.

Business is like poker, it can be won and lost on "tells". Good cards will turn anyone into a winner. The guy's who read other players the best are winning players in the long run, i been running since 99. It aint just good cards all these years boy's. I can't stay lucky that long.

Watch's work much the same way, just more subtle.

If I was broke, then i wouldn't put a ounce of credit to what I posted in this thread, but I made all my $, continue to do so. So I have a little Cred and good Credit too!!! the 2nd one helps a bit more i suppose.

still aint wearing shoes, except at the gym, pisses me off too. Like if I drop a plate on my foot my Chuck's are gonna save my foot, sure. my feet never smell, WTF!??! I do miss that about Vegas they let me train barefoot-took a while to get that in place, here i got no shot. :(

Eric, the article IS a fcuking dumb article. He probably doesn't have the experience you're talking about, because 1. he's a tool, 2. he makes money in penny stocks (ahem, the CEOS of those companies are more interested by scamming their way into a lambo, and smart money isn't going to try to impress them (lowlifes for most part) unless they're in bed with them). In the article the guy cites small trunk space as his reason why Lambos are good - so you can get less groceries and hence be on a diet. Any experience with that on your part? :)

Nice post on on reading people when they have genuine reaction to the car, that's gold.

Great perspective LV Eric. The way the way the article was written left the writer with no credibility. Your perspective/experience however makes perfect sense. Keep it up...!

i never heard of the guy who wrote the article, i stay away from the stock market-i couldnt sleep at night. now i can't sleep because of all the $$$ I didnt make by not getting into the market, damned if I do, damned if I don't LOL

the diet thing, thats a topic, i been doing cardio for the past 6 months, since December i'd guess, no lifting. I was in Europe for about 3 weeks, 10 days into the trip my watch turned around on my wrist-it was so loose. WTF?!?!

I looked at my shoulders-bones, wrists, more bones, i will always have a gut from the "cant be repaired hernia" my legs were skinny, i looked like shit, i went to the gym with my friend, stepped onto a good scale 105kgs, I havent been that light in years-right after my back operations i got down to 103 kgs. So I started lifting, i'm weak as a kitten, my muscles atrophied away-gone. ibeen back at the iron pile for 4 weeks now and i feel better, still weak. My watch fits now.

Sorry i didnt know the guy was a douche\ i just thought it was short sighted of people not to use their tools/toys to their fullest potential. Not like a car hasn't got most of us here laid, probably several times(countless times-depends on how ya roll) -had to be said. just had to go there.

later boys

Exotics/expensive cars are an easy way to show someone you might not be a tyre kicker or a time waster :icon_mrgreen: it's an easy way to get in and out, you have to be very smart about how and when you use them, if you know what you are doing it works like a charm.

When I buy expensive commercial realestate from a new agent I show up in a Lambo, that's all I have to do, otherwise the usual interrogation begins, which I can understand, nobody wants to have their time wasted when trying to offload a multi million dollars property, so the car gets me in so we can cut the crap and talk business. After the first deal I can just show up in my daily shitbox DD which I am extremely comfortable in.

Same with the houses, if I decide to bring people across to my house for a meeting/negotiations they tend to ask a hell of a lot less questions, so unnecessary conversations and doubts are simply vanished, nobody wants to invest in someone who looks like their are broke or aren't doing themselves what they are preaching to others.

People are shallow and superficial, greater majority are, you have to be smart and make things work in your advantage.

What started me off in my business life was the acquisition of a car, before I bought it nobody paid attention to me, after, everyone started talking to me, they were interested in me and started to respect me because of the car, ridiculous I know, because I was exactly the same guy but a hell of a lot poorer :lol2: but I started to work out the psychology behind owning an expensive car, it opened doors for me and helped me buy and sell the items I was dealing in at that point in time.

I know what the guy who wrote the article meant but he can't write to save his life.

Ok your in the hot seat, LOLOLOL

who writes better him or me???? :P

I used houses to also lend credibility to my game, what ever it was. the nicer the house the better it worked.

Then I learned the hard way the Sultan's house got to everyone-nobody held it together. Hell even the guy i sold it to worth 2.7B at the time couldnt hold it, Had a few people from the B club there. only one Ron Burkle kept it cool.

that house was a horrible mistake on so many levels, my biz partner built a 27,000sf compound on 7.5 acres in Vegas and that bit him in the ass too,

I think a 10-15M house is the play. depending on what market your in, in vegas where it's cheap, 10,000sf or 950 sq meters is enough to show anyone your a real person, not a flight risk.

and to acknowledge your point, show up the first time in a real car and after that the daily driver is fine, in fact better in some case's.

in Vegas I leased a truck every couple years and that was my daily driver, i have never drove the expensive cars everyday. I did for probably 2 months once and they all just became normal cars, nothing special. the magic was gone. I od'ed

Went sober for 60 days and 60 meetings driving shit box's around then the magic was back.

So becareful no to OD on your lambo's

Actually that did happen, i drove nice cars for a couple months and they become normal. guys that work at dealerships and see them day in and out, get tired as can be of cars. Exotics are fun in doses.

A very different game in Silicon Valley. Most of the best engineers, company founders, and venture capitalists drive understated cars, while many wear the same Levi's, shorts and sweatshirts every week. Show up in a high end car to meet someone for the first time and you'd be considered a sales player or a prude. With all the money in this area you see few high end cars during the week. Maybe because software engineers simply don't care. In private though, behind the gates, it's a whole different story.

The funniest thing is that most people who can afford super expensive cars are not car people and couldn't care less. It's shocking to us car folks the number of $100 mil+ folks that just roll around in a Lexus or Prius.

It comes down to what you do, they need to impress whomever they are meeting with their technical abilities and knowledge, I wouldn't care if one of my engineers were driving a space shuttle as a DD, that wouldn't impress me, I would deal with him/her based on recommendations from people I trust.

When I meet someone wanting to buy a very expensive development it's important to demonstrate you are financially stable, I am happy with not discussing business here but I could give few examples/scenarios where not being able to demonstrate my "worth" cost me the deal.

I was interviewed and rejected by vendors even after my banker showed them proof of funds and ability to complete, long and complex settlements are risky on all parties involved, vendors panic so they select known large players and I miss out with money in the bank.

Every time I worked the first point of contact, the agent, I was successful and to be perfectly honest more than once what I was driving helped.
