Kisco Report post Posted August 24, 2017 This version of "a good long fight" will be Mayweather dancing about. I'm honestly so confused by anyone who thinks this fight is going to be any different than the last 49 fights he's put on. It could be different due to McGregors mental approach to his opponents. I'd bet Mayweather wouldn't have asked for 8 oz gloves if it wasn't for Conor's mouth. Conor manipulates his opponents into a different mindset. Look at Aldo vs. McGregor. Aldo wasn't the type to come out with brute force like he did, but he did because of Conor's approach. The disrespect, the taunting, the trash talking, etc all played a role and caused Aldo to change his game plan and ultimately led him to hit the canvas in 13 secs. Who would have thought, right? On the other hand, if we see a mentally and physically unchanged, unaffected Mayweather From the past then I agree it will probably be more of a dance off leading to a decision victory. But is that the Maywesther we will see?? Hmmm....we will see! Watch this...this explains my point above - Floyd already talking about a different approach! https://www.facebook.com/ESPNUK/videos/10159179322535082/
Murcie612 Report post Posted August 24, 2017 I hope Mayweather gets his ass handed to him. Last fight mayweather fought was an absolute joke for the kind of money he made, Two guys danced around the ring the whole fight, he's a master of talking all kinds of crap and not following up. He wins by points and more power to him, but you can't be called the best of all times because you defended yourself every fight and don't do any work. Absolute joke, boxing has been dead for years..........

Why can't anyone hit him? They're not good enough. But, he lands punches also. It gets annoying, that's why I enjoyed Mike Tyson so much! Tyson was a beast, try to run away, he was coming for you, trying to hit you head off your shoulders. He literally said, he was trying to kill every opponent in the ring. I dislike Floyd, but all around, no one better. He's the LeBron of boxing to me.
lambojayso Report post Posted August 24, 2017 There are two boxers in boxing right now who would give Floyd a serious run for his money, Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. As much as I look forward to watching this fight Saturday, I'm reminded every time Floyd is stepping in there with someone who is 0-0-0. And the only attributes Conor has to offer are his mouth, mma awkward approach, and ranginess to beat Floyd. Absent from Conor's resume are experience and skill. The two attributes Crawford and Spence Jr. possess. Still tuning in Saturday night though.

Completly disagree when it comes to him being called the "champ" or "the best of all time" we all know who the greats and champs really are. I can understand using the rules to your advantage and all but when all you do is block, hold and dance around, that's gets old after the first 2 to 3 rounds. At some point you have to go to work and BOX, that's why it's called BOXING, not dodging or dancing..... He's not a boxer IMO, hes everything but a boxer. However I will give his team/management credit, they are doing an amazing job with the "brand" and keeping him in line. Wish Tyson would have trained his boy to be the beast of a champ that he was, that would have been amazing to see.

Mayweather is like the Tim Duncan of boxing, he's a great boxer and is very technical, but it's usually not exciting for spectators to watch. He's 49-0, so he undoubtedly is a great boxer...you can't have that many wins and 0 loses without being great at what you do. Is he exciting to watch? Usually not, but he gets the job done. If you want the most exciting boxer, then you need to watch Tyson do his thing. Both of them are great at what they do, but utilize different styles to achieve the same end goal: Victory. I'm not a Mayweather fan but I respect his record and ability, and he wins by being smart. Exciting and being great are two very different things. capt_chaos Report post Posted August 24, 2017 Crazy odds offered here. If you sign up to one site and deposit £5 they offer a max bet of a bet £1 with odds of 100/1 on mcg win. No brainer to sign up for that and put £4 on may. I have loved every min of the pre match warbling but the actual fight will not match the hype
porter Report post Posted August 24, 2017 Crazy the way these lines are moving. Not what vegas lines are at, but some online casinos have Mayweather at -350 now and most are at -400. That seems like really good odds with how likely he will win. I agree sprite. The odds move depending on how much on each fighter has been put down. 95% of the money has been on McGregor so far, the bookies have had to move the lines to close the gap, if McGregor wins a lot of bookies are going to be hurting the next day, it will be a blood bath on payouts. IbnRushd Report post Posted August 25, 2017 Has there been a recent fight where the match actually lived to the hype? All the ones in the past...maybe even decade, have been quite a let down. Ronda both times, Manny vs Mayweather and now this...they're the only ones that come to mind but I'm sure there is more, then again there's probably ones that have lived up and I just don't know. He out scores and wins a easy decision. probably he wins 8-9 rounds
rmtn Report post Posted August 25, 2017 I looked at McGregor training and his technic is not technic. Absolutely poor hits, ass and legs dont connect in anyway to what hands are doing. I am not a super fan of MMA nor Boxing. I have only seen maybe few of his maches... But apparently McGregor wins opponents with strong kicks and then can maybe land some punches to finish that off... I have not seen any matches of Mayweather but looking at training video it is maiiiiiiiils away from McGregor, there is no contest from purely talent level. But I read Mayweather is passive rather than agressive, I hope tomorrow wont be him ducking away from McGregor's poor punches whole time. BTW. I thought both McGregor/Diaz fights were great....the others, as you mentioned, not so much. I just dont see Mac being ale to hit Mayweather, unless Mayweather's age has taken his skills into a freefall. I always thought Roy Jones Jr. was the absolute best fighter in the world. He was untouchable, until he aged. Then his time was over and he couldn't beat even half way decent fighters. Tyson went the same way, Haggler, etc....it seems like once the boxers hit a certain age, they are done for, so the question for me, is has Mayweather reached that certain age yet. If he hasn't he'll put on a clinic...if he has, he's done for. I hope Mac's skills are better than what the clips he has posted show, but you just never know. I also think that if Maywether can land his punches, he can and will knock Mac, out. Mac's got heart and drive, but he's been rocked by punches before, and he's never been hit with combinations like a boxer can produce....instead of 1-2 shots, it can be like 6 or 7. Can he stand up to it? I guess we'll see!
LV Eric Report post Posted August 26, 2017 Another point People betting on Connor are mma fans that don't know what boxing is. The old axiom applies "don't play another mans game" Floyd is gonna be just fine
LV Eric Report post Posted August 26, 2017 But I read Mayweather is passive rather than agressive, I hope tomorrow wont be him ducking away from McGregor's poor punches whole time. You "read" that's my point, mma fan who ain't seen Floyd fight, this ain't a attack on you. But it validates my point. I was there for Floyds pro debut, I've seen all 49 fights. I know boxing. I've seen MANY GUYS try and switch to boxing over the past 30 something years. Not once did it end well for the kick boxer or mma guy. That I can recall. Look I could be wrong maybe Floyd is old and slow like Roy jones was in Russia last year but I doubt it, his family has been in the fight game forever and they don't make mistakes. **unless Floyd is stone broke and this is a cash grab** Then anything is possible. My post was t about you directly anyways-again I apologize. I have no passion either. Something happened about 10 years ago with UFC that ended all that for me, I sold my radio show( back when those still existed) and left the fight game. I still think Floyd wins as described above. In any case have a good weekend. I'll be more careful next time Fair enough? No bad blood. I don't like to argue with people and when I'm wrong I admit to it and cure what errors or wrong doings I did. Want to be clear about that with you. I hope we are good.
