  1. Very happy for you. It is one thing to buy one of these cars and then be afraid to drive it. It is quite another to not only drive it, but to become immersed in the culture and family of owning one. Very impressive. You are more enthusiastic than most I have seen, and that is very refreshing. Enjoy it in good health, congrats on the adventure.
  2. Not what you want to hear first thing in the morning. Hang in there sir, we are all here for you. Hope it isn't serious. Prayers and all that.
  3. If I can't personally fly to inspect and take possession on the car, I use the bank as an intermediary. You choose the BoA branch near him. He surrenders the title to the bank showing no lien and no encumbrance from another party, and when the wire hits, you have the bank next day the signed title to your home. I have never had a bank tell me no.
  4. Sounds like a low voltage problem. Maybe the alternator or the connection to it? Seems everything youre talking about it electrical. That would be where I would start. Also, make sure you keep the car on a battery tender when it is parked at home. Flat batteries will kill these cars, so keeping them going electrically is very important.
  5. Drove a brand new LWB a few months ago. Supercharged Autobiography. What a wonderful truck. My buddy hasn't had much of a problem with it since he bought it, knock on wood, and it was great to drive, electronics were good, nav seemed nice. I only drove it about 35 miles though, so not a ton of experience. I will say, they are expensive though.
  6. Authorized Lamborghini Dealer down the road, so you have that going for you.
  7. Dealers are the biggest culprits, but I also believe they have the right to make the money off the cars if they can. I don't see anyone around helping them out when they lose hundreds of thousands of dollars on inventory that was forced down their throat by the manufacturer. I do wish they would put the cars into the hands of end users. I see these things end up ordered by former 918 owners only for the purpose of flipping them for the overage. They never even take delivery. One owner locally ordered two, kept one, and when the second came in he made the dealer buy it back from him for a huge profit. He never even actually bought it.
  8. Steven Waldie is the guy that owns the place. He is a pretty good dude from what I have heard. He has been around forever. There are a few places to get a good PPI done up there too. Good luck with it, it looks really nice.
  9. Maserati of Ft Lauderdale was doing 500 a month leases with little to nothing down on Ghiblis in the last 6 months. They were blowing them out. A new QP can be had for at least 20k off sticker, and with the subvented lease rates and the high residual, I am sure you can lease one super cheap (compared to a Benz or BMW). That said, I wouldn't own one out of warranty. The new S with the big twin turbo V8 has to be a pretty quick car, and it sounds amazing. I would likely still opt for something different.

    Vegas lets go

I spit my drink out when I read that! No idea who Ben is.
  11. I think his number probably includes people killed in traffic accidents or in races. We lost a very young man, Chad Young, a few weeks ago in the Tour of the Gila. He crashed on a descent and succumbed to his injuries. A few days before Michele Scarponi died in a traffic accident being run over by a van that ran a stop sign. Yesterday, Nicky Hayden of World Superbike fame was hit by a driver that was on the wrong side of the road, and he is in critical condition. I think that statistic helps increase the mortality rate of pro cyclists. If you look at the vast majority of pro cyclists, they live long lives, until they get killed.
  12. That is what is crazy. People seem to think that it is like the movies, one shot and they drop. It doesn't often work like that. You can see why he kept firing, the guy not only ran away, but never dropped the gun. He is lucky the guy didn't fire back.
  13. Hang my head, drown my fear, until you all just disappear... RIP, guy was a legend.
  14. OP, the first car has been discussed on this forum before. I thought a guy from Michigan was thinking of buying it. I know I had thrown auction values on it at one time. The car was suspect if I recall. I remember the guy was trying to finance it or something. Maybe someone that sees this can link you with the original thread. Maybe you can search the forum by VIN number. I am not sure. I don't remember this car being a great example, and it is expensive. Those wheels, that dealership, it just doesn't pass the sniff test for me. There is another car for sale on here, a Rosso Metis car with a manual. It is in perfect condition. Maybe chase that one?
  15. I wonder if you could find someone who makes red anodized center lock nuts. I like the red calipers and that you did the red springs in the engine bay, just feel like it needs one or two more little tiny things. It is amazing how big those cars are. My Aventador experience is limited, but I did enjoy it when I drove one. It didn't seem as big as it was. It was also very nimble.
  16. I need to do that. I need another trip out to your neck of the woods. Wish I could talk my wife into relocating there, dream of mine to be there. I will look the place up, sounds like a mecca.
  17. Was Mason into it? I want to take Caiden, but I wasn't sure if it was a little too "adult" or not. Please advise, might go with him this weekend if it is cool. He and Mason are similar age.
  18. So I can understand, maybe I lost something. Jason bought the car from Roy. Jason put the car on consignment with Roy. While car was inbound to Roy, Roy just bought the car from him. Roy sold the car before it got back to his dealership to another buyer. Buyer who got the car was not happy with the condition? It ended up at some place called "Franco's" in California.
  19. Cool shot man! That 6.0 is amazing.
  20. This dude has lost the plot. No way that car is worth more now than it was new. I don't care if it is a stick or not. I think the whole stick thing has jumped the shark. Roy's car is the only one I would pay big wood for, and he is asking a ton less than this one. Good luck with the sale, hope the ether wears off soon.
  21. I don't know anything about them, but what is the difference between mounting a GoPro to the inside of your windshield and a dedicated dash camera?
  22. So awesome to see all the cars you've had, and what you've done with them, Bill! You're taste has always been so great, awesome to see another creation. Congrats.
