  1. Welcome and congratulations on the Ghost, I hear it's a great car. I'm just outside of Houston but there are several folks here on the forum that are in Houston. I go to the The Woodlands cars and coffee on occasions, ping me if you are interested in meeting up there sometime. James
  2. Beautiful car! I looked at one for my DD but I need a five passenger so had to pass. Enjoy!
  3. Great video! I spend part of my youth in Okinawa, Japan so it reminded me of some of the silliness I got into back in the day...
  4. For those of you who want to step it up beyond "skittle" colors, you can always go this route I suppose; http://jalopnik.com/this-bosozoku-lamborgh...w-on-1736770740
  5. Congratulations on owning one of the greatest cars on the planet. Also, to have your act together at such a young age!
  6. Congrats, I'm sure you'll be happy with your decision.
  7. Not exactly the same but I had a similar issue when I received my out of state LP640, I drove it for XX miles and then all was well. Good luck!
  8. I was hoping you would post some pictures of your "birthday present". Very impressive!! I'm glad it met your expectations and looking forward to seeing it in person once you get it home. I hope your birthday was awesome and safe travels back to the great State!
  9. Thanks all for the kind words, happy to have it back. 05LSV, PM me on those local driving areas around these parts, always open to top tips! Montgomery to SD? That's quite a change!
  10. After a long wait, I finally have possession of my 2008 LP640 Murcielago. My first impressions of the car are it likes to go fast and anything under 10 mph (parking, driveways, stop lights, etc.) is less than smooth. I have the e-gear so that may be a factor and my newness to it. Seems like 80+ mph is the sweet spot. The car pulls like a boss (as it should) and stops with the same capacity. The brakes (CCB) are amazing, the potential downside is even with the short amount of driving I did yesterday, when I got into my daily driver, I was quickly reminded that it doesn’t stop like the CCB! I live out in the boonies (for Houstonians, I’m in Montgomery) so not a lot of exotics out here so within fifteen minutes of driving I had a guy following me around videoing the car and 3 folks taking pictures going down the road. I also should mention some random lady with her two kids followed me home to check out my car. My wife was not amused… Overall, very happy with the purchase and looking forward to more seat time. Assuming the weather is fine, I’m going to the cars/coffee event at Lamborghini of Houston on July 18th so hope to see some of you there. I added further pictures in the new owners thread if anyone is interested in seeing more pictures.
  11. Please update me as an official Lamborghini Owner:
  12. For those of you who twitter, an important milestone it seems: http://artofgears.com/2015/07/07/lamborghi...tter-followers/
  13. This was my previous data point for a Fairlady but once you finish your build, your car may be the new benchmark.
  14. Quite a beauty, congratulations!
  15. My 08 LP640 is at the Houston dealer and they told me the valve cover gaskets have a slight leak and I should replace them. The dealer I just purchased the car from stated that it may be an oil seep at most. I would like to hear how others have determined when it is appropriate to change out the valve cover gaskets. Does one drop mean it's time to do it? I didn't see any drops on my garage floor the one night it spent there so it's not a major leak.
  16. Super excited to see this build. I plan on adding a Fairlady to my stable at some point but I don't have your skills so will have buy one already finished. I lived in Okinawa during high school in the 80's and this, the Skyline and the Savanna were the cars to have.
  17. Congratulations, that's quite a car! We'll have to share top tips as we are both jumping into ownership at the same time.
  18. All, I just wanted to give a quick update as to my journey to ownership. As some of you may recall, I asked for guidance on a LP640 at Palm Beach Lamborghini a few weeks ago. I received lots of good guidance and special thanks goes out to NSXtoMURCI for stopping by to give the car a good look over as well. The short story is I bought the car and it was delivered to my home here in Montgomery, Texas last Thursday. Unfortunately, it had several small cosmetic scratches on the right hand side created when the shipper pulled the car out earlier in the day to unload another car; the wheels, mirror and whatever that vent is called behind and below the passenger door all where slightly scratched. I also realized the shipper unloaded the car with the parking brake on the whole time. With all of this silliness, I've taken the car to Lamborghini of Houston to get the cosmetics fixed as well as an e-gear snap and check on the parking brake. Palm Beach did an e-gear snap right before it was shipped to me so I can see if he deteriorated the clutch by backing it up with the emergency brake on. I hope to get the car back in the next two weeks and will submit the obligatory pictures post haste. It was quite the anti-climatic event, seeing my beautiful car getting unloaded and then BAM, I see these scratches. I at least enjoyed the drive from my home to the dealership to drop it off!
  19. I'm expecting delivery next week of the LP640 from Palm Beach that I started this original thread on. Once I take possession, I'll post pictures!
  20. Thank you all kindly for the input. It does have CCB and all the little issues such as the RES button replacement are suppose to get sorted. I also was looking at one in ATL but I like the lower mileage on this one, thanks for making sure I saw that one as well. I'll take you up on the offer to go by Palm Beach to check it out in person, I sent you an email. I'll let you all know how it plays out or if I'm still in the market.
  21. Hello all, I'm looking to buy my first Lamborghini and after several weeks have narrowed it down to a 2008 at Palm Beach: http://www.lamborghinipalmbeach.com/used/L...61894d9a0f8.htm Any insight would be much appreciated; pricing, experience with this dealership, things to look out for. My logic is I only want a coupe and this seems to be a decent price for the mileage. Thanks in advance for your knowledge on the subject.
