  1. I have the brake cooling duct missing on one side of my 6. Which dealer do you use for parts? Is it easy to fit DIY? Any tips or things to be aware of?
  2. 930 turbo. It was 1976/77 and I was in my final year at uni when I first saw one in the real. Back then all I could afford was a Lambretta (I still very much like Lambretta scooters - icon of Italian cool IMO) Things changed as they do but I never did scratch the Porsche 930 itch.
  3. For me the answer is mixed. Miura - all equally liked. No preference. CT - I like the mid models most - 5000s and QV Diablo - I like the end of the line most - 6 litre Murcie - I prefer the early shape over the later 640 & 670SV AV - I much prefer the SV over the base style, particularly with the roadster. There is no pattern or theme with me. I just like what I like. To answer the question - I think that once the AV is no more and there is a new flagship that the SV will be the preferred styling.
  4. I don't understand. I put a deposit on a car. The dealership told me I didn't make the allocation group. I did a post on this several months ago. I can't exactly remember which thread. Heres where I am confused. If there will be fewer cars than the build number limit, as postulated by Roy, then why didn't they just sell me a car? Surely a sale is a sale. If they do build the stated maximum but some of the cars are dealer purchased cars and not customer cars why not satisfy the customer demand first? Then any build slots not taken by customer orders could then be offered to dealers as stock for showroom floor sales. Whilst I have now accepted that I won't be getting a car I am still mildly annoyed. I will be even more annoyed if it turns out that dealers are getting cars ahead of, and in preference to, customers like me. Or have I made 2+2=5?

    LUTHER!

Idris Elba. Played Stringer Bell on the US series The Wire. Recently played Nelson Mandela in the film. He is an out and out Petrolhead and loves his cars. He has presented a few car shows and at one point was in the mix for Top Gear presenter after the Clarkson debacle. I'll be watching Luther over Christmas on the iPlayer. Can't wait.
  6. There are several places, the obvious being the VIN plate. However the easiest is the windscreen. The VIN should be etched in to the glass low down and on the passenger side
  7. i started off absolutely loving the SV. That feeling just increases the more I see them.
  8. Two weeks ago the Lamborghini European sales manager told me 20. And, yes, all sold.
  9. Lamborghini Manchester on Saturday. Rosso Bia The old and the new Stunning black CT anniversary
  10. For some reason any experience seems more fulfilling when serendipity is invoved. x10 when there is a Lamborghini in the piece. Congrats and enjoy.
  11. They retract automatically once you hit 30. They also automatically deploy if the temperature is hot (i think its 26 deg or thereabouts). Not that I have much experience of this temperature where I live. There is an over-ride that keeps them up permanently. You have to have them in the deployed condition, switch off the ignition and simultaneously isolate the battery in the engine bay. A search on here will reveal the exact procedure.
  12. One thing is for sure - somebody owns it. Whoever it is they have a stunning car. Previosly I thought they looked odd without the big SV sticker but on this car the small sticker really works.
  13. I have seen this car in person. http://www.sytner.co.uk/car-search/5090394...-700-4-2dr-isr/ It is absolutely gorgeous. Very classy. And not too dark to loose the contrast effect of the black bits.
  14. I think they will. Give it a little more time. This year I had 3 serious unsolicited offers on mine. Two from guys that own at least one other Lamborghini. All at a 10 -15% premium over egear values. All were told it's not for sale. I reckon the market sentiment for RHD manual roadsters will more closely align with the USA by late 2016 or early 17. No science, just my gut feel on the market. Great car BTW.
  15. I have both. 6 in my Murcie roadster and 5 in my 6 litre. There are advantages to both. I find 6 gear manuals less frenetic and a tad more civilised. With 5 speed the ratios are taller so you are on it for longer especially going up the box at full beans. Which is good if you are in that mood. Love them both. Not sure about Mr Eds arithmetic. I am surprised it is as low as 30% but assuming that percentage is correct then I make 30% of 4099 cars equal to just over 1200 delivered to the USA.
  16. This is the first aftermarket I have seen for sale in the U.K Ask ~ £500k !!! (Approx $750k) http://www.motor-hub.co.uk/used-cars/lambo...201509166960068 Very annoying as I can't get an allocation.
  17. That must be heartbreaking for the owner. I think it was 26 RHD made - not 30 as stated in the article. Like Falconsprint I am curious to know where this started. Obviously the engine bay area but where exactly? I don't have a fire extinguisher in mine. This is an oversight that I intend to remedy very soon. Foam AFFF or powder ABC seem to be the choices. Any advice which is best will be welcomed.
  18. Beautiful. I dream about stuff like this.
  19. The bad news I dropped in to my dealer yesterday and enquired to how the SV roadster allocation was going. At that point his response was, upon reflection, a classic example of managing expectations. I was told that they still didn’t know yet. I was then given a potted explanation of how it works which goes like this. There are significantly more deposits taken than there are cars being built. When this happens Lamborghini look at all the names and decide those that they want to supply. These include high profile customers, low profile but corporately important customers, historical multiple car buyers, super wealthy customers etc. The remaining numbers are then split between the identified markets. Lamborghini know where the cars sell and where they don’t. The dealer networks then get the allocation for their country/ region. Thereafter it is up to the dealers to allocate. If their allocation equals their deposits everyone is happy. If there are more deposits than allocations then the dealer decides. His criteria are similar to the corporate criteria. Important customers, customers with previous purchase track records and the like get first priority. Unknown customers, known flippers, people that are just buying because it happens to be the latest trinket – they are last. There is a middle group. Known enthusiasts, occasional buyers and similar. This middle group is where I sit. I was told that they expected their allocation to be significantly lower than they deposits they have taken and to prepare to be disappointed. They probably would only have allocations enough to satisfy the top group. Confirmation will be this coming week or next but I got the message. The good news At this point he could see my disappointment from several moments earlier. I was then told that the dealership wanted me to have a car. I was told that the dealership considered me to be one of the biggest, if not the biggest, enthusiast they had. How would I feel if they offered me a slot for a SV coupe? My instant reaction was yes of course but I preferred the roadster. 30 hours have passed and I have thought of little else. I reckon they must have had someone with deposits on coupe and roadster and they have told he/she they couldn’t have both and to decide between one or the other. Or perhaps they have a coupe cancellation. Don't know. I have tried doing +/-/= comparative analysis between the cars on excel. Of course each is stronger than the other in different criteria. The end result is a score draw. There is no point howling at the moon. Things are what they are and I choose to be happy with the cards I have been dealt. Fingers crossed they make good on the SV coupe offer. And even if that doesn't transpire for whatever reason I am happy with the two cars I own. A final thought - having put me through this mental internalisation process I reckon my head would spontaneously explode if they came back and gave me the choice between either.
