kilo16 Report post Posted November 11, 2009 I like the car quite a bit, especially the gullwing doors. But ... is it me or does the side profile kinda look like an older viper .. or an S2000 on 'roids? Probably one of those cars I have to see in person .. Probably one of those cars I have to see in person .. Looks kinda like a Z8 and a TVR mixed Although I don't necessarily agree that they appear too similar, why would this even be a problem? All of those cars are extremely good-looking cars; well-designed with a great balance of beauty and muscularity. They're all considered "modern classics." I'm liking the SLS for sure. The heritage is clear and the engineering is fantastic.
rmtn Report post Posted November 11, 2009 I have grown to like it. I saw it too very Z8 like which is not bad thing!
Richard Wallace Report post Posted November 11, 2009 When I saw it first - I thought it was very close to a Z8 as well, somebody find a side profile and throw it up, I think they are close. I love the doors, but not the body so much...

jhanso Report post Posted November 11, 2009 i love, classic, enduring, and beautiful! plenty of power as well, but it will never beat an SLR, as that is impossible... LOL:p

roguetrader Report post Posted November 11, 2009 I think MB has done a fantastic job of capturing the essence of the original car. Not just in terms of styling, but what the car is about.
roguetrader Report post Posted November 11, 2009 The door handle is in a weird place That's where they were on the original, and is really the best place for them when you think about it.
Guest skokos Report post Posted November 12, 2009 Do you guys feel this car will succumb to the traditional mercedes "lose 50 percent of your cars value in the first year" trend or will this thing hold its value for years to come? Does anyone know the annual production numbers?

Does anyone know the annual production numbers? Being a truly "bespoke" model might help it, compared to other AMG cars. But in this day and age I cant see its value being rock solid, it will be popular and they will probably produce more than a few.
