Roman Report post Posted June 13, 2014 So... Had some nice weather yesterday... So I took the boy and the Countach out for lunch by the river... Parked the car on the street in an "Old Town" type area with some regular foot and street traffic.. Forgot I left the GoPro on... This morning Im looking at the video and Ive got basically the entire time I was away from the car on video.... fcuking HILARIOUS.... Every few minutes or so so a group of pedestrians walks by... stops.... Does a double take... Walks back.... Goes through the "What is it Morty?" routine and then whips out their phones to take a photo... One chick did get her ass a little too close to the car for my comfort... and then dropped her fcuking keys as she was dangling them in front of her for a "Look what I won on the Price Is Right!" photo-op (heard them hit the ground, not the car, so WHEW)... But nobody touched it, or bothered it, which was cool... Just lost their fcuking minds seeing it... Favorite comment... "Its a Lamborghini... It has six batteries in the back to make it go faster." Gave me an idea.... Next time, forget the drive video... Im pointing the camera out the passenger window and clipping a lapel mic in the window... sprite Report post Posted July 16, 2014 One member on here (don't know if they are still around) had a person open the door and let their kid sit inside for a photo! Not me, but I was at a car show once. I had my Murcielago there and went to walk around. I guess I must have left the door unlocked because when I got back I found a phone in my car that wasn't mine. They never got that back

LamboCARS Report post Posted July 18, 2014 and locking it is not necessary, most of the time people will never know what or where the button to open the door is this is so recognizable ... lol Had a friend come by the house with a yellow Countach LP400S, he parked it to the side of our driveway and didn't lock the car either ... the son of our neighbor saw it a while later and did manage to open the door ... his parents called the police thinking the car was stolen, taken for a joyride and left behind ... fortunately the owner was protected by diplomatic immunity and had all the paperwork for the car ... in the end we all had a laugh, the police officers too. But it could have gotten really bad.
Roman Report post Posted July 18, 2014 Oh... Shit.... I did this yesterday... I parked it in old town Jeffersonville to meet my wife for lunch. A couple comes up and they are both in love with the car... She keeps saying "it looks like a space ship." Anyways... Hes taking pictures for like five minutes... Then... A brother walks across the street from the Afro Barber shop... And tells them its his car... "yeah... Its my diablo..." Another brother comes across and says, "No... Its a countach..." "Nah... Its a diablo." "You fool, it says countach right here on the back". "Its a Countach diablo-." Anyways... First dude stands next to the car for about 10 minutes and tells people its his, he bought it at an auction, etc... Anyways... He acted like my own private security guard... Took a ton of pictures, but wouldn't even touch the car, even when his buddy was taking pics of him with it (hand hovering an inch above the fender etc)... Even if he was telling people it was his... Finally leaves by yelling "Cocaine dreams brother, cocaine dreams!"

DatingCoach Report post Posted July 26, 2014 Last weekend I'm driving slowly in the Hollywood Hills, and a motorcycle cop stops me. I'm thinking shit, not sure what I did wrong, maybe he's noticing I have no front plate. Uh oh here we go..... Then he asks if I will pull over so he can get a picture with the car. We took a few photos and off he went. Also, I leave it unlocked all the time in all manner of LA neighborhoods. Haven't had any issues really. People are scared to touch it. One time I was low on gas (really low!) and stopped near Compton to fill up. Everyone was polite and complimentary. No problems. Some people seemed overjoyed to just see such a thing in their own neighborhood. Ya gotta enjoy the car. Drive it, fix it, repeat. If it gets a few tiny dings from photo posing, just dent doctor them all out every few years. Part of the fun is all the joy it brings to the average person who has a chance encounter with a Countach. Remember how you felt during your first chance encounter with a Countach? That's what it's all about.

Then you find yourself a victim and have no one to blame but yourself. Check your home and car insurance policies. Many don't cover cars that are left unlocked. Maybe hard to prove but why invite aggravation. We have friends that leave keys in their cars inside the garage. Some insurance prohibits it. Plus - why would I want to make anything easier for a thief? Same applies to leaving a house unlocked.

Where I come from it is common to leave keys in your car unlocked and outside, all farmers mostly. I never would do this. I had a friend have his car stolen. Drunks were driving by and crashed their car. Wondered into my buddies yard stole his car and crashed it 50 miles later. His insurance covered everything. Really surprising.
