SAMLAMBO Report post Posted October 16, 2016 Hello guys, just picked this up and although I'm a bit old school, I'm really loving the ride. I was told the earlier Aventador's are bumpy at ride but I feel its ok. Other than updated springs on the newer Aventador's, is there any other difference between the newer and earlier Aventadors? Only driven 5000 miles and never been tracked. Had to have her.

Beside the updated spring, there another difference between the 1st gen 2012 Aventador and the 2013 model which is: 1st gen 2012 Aventador come with a 1 normal battery & a Supercap box, whereas the 2013 Aventador only come with 1 normal battery & a 60ah battery which is cheaper in maintenance. Just for your info, supercap box for the 1st gen does not come cheap. Hope this info will help you out on which Aventador to go for.... alpha6164 Report post Posted October 17, 2016 There are actually quite a few changes from the 2012 to the 13+. I have spoken to Jefflambo multiple times about these and has gone over them in detail in other threads as well. 1) The 12s had one ECU and completely changed their ECU in 13 and later models. Due to this ECU being only in the MY12 factory stopped doing R&D and providing updates for the 12s a few years back. Everytime a new update comes it only applies for the 13+ and not applicable to the 12s. There are several details Jeff discussed why those updates are important including way less frequent check engine lights coming on due to different paramaters the car is looking for. 2) There is some kind of a seal in the transmission that is not there in the 12s that can potentially lead to a loss of oil pressure and dumping all of your tranny fluid while driving leading to complete tranny failure. Jeff mentioned he has changed a handful of transmissions at $30k each due to this reason. Factory changed this in the 13s and up. 3) You already mentioned the suspension and it is not fixable with a recall. There were some other minor things that i dont remember. The ECU and transmission seal thing were the two things that stuck out the most and which is why i will not be considering a MY12 when i purchase mine. Good luck with yours the white always looks sexy.

alpha6164 Report post Posted October 17, 2016 Thanks for sharing. Can't this seal be added to the earlier trannys? Will discuss with my local dealer on the transmission issue. No it cant. It is a specific upgrade to the entire unit according to Jefflambo. He is super nice guy. Feel free to message him i am sure he can tell you way better than me technically since he is the master mechanic and Lambo New Port Beach. ToofDoc Report post Posted October 18, 2016 Congrats on the AV! That's got to be a huge improvement in drivability from LP670 to a LP700 huh? Where did the Grigio Telesto SV go? The MSV sold for more than your new AV right? I'd imagine the value of a MSV is much higher than a regular AV coupe.

He's a big Lambo specialist . Off course it's more comfy than the than the SV and more of an Everyday supercar Bought the Aventador for close to US$600k in today's exchange rate. Cost of cars in Singapore is insane.
