Congrats buddy! I like it a lot. It is different but not over the top

Thank you Tara, just like me, different but not over the top :icon_mrgreen:

Thank you, yes I test drove the Aventador, fantastic car, what a showstopper, the sound of the V12, I loved it but the gearbox kills the car for me, it's a huge let down, in particular once you get used to the Huracan's DCT, the brakes took a lot firmer input to get in the sweet zone, I am sure that has to do with the weight of the car which you can clearly feel.

It didn't feel as big as I thought it would and it was a very confortable car to be in, great visibility I thought, felt a lot smaller on the road than I initially anticipated.

I went for a quick run on some twisties but I had VCR with me and I didn't want to scare him too much :icon_mrgreen:

Personally the way I see it, the chassis of the car is incredible, the V12 is sublime but the suspension setup and the transmission in particular is letting this otherwise fantastic car down.

I won't lie, the SV here is a lot of money, I want to make damn sure that I LOVE it otherwise the penalty of getting out of it in a hurry will be very hefty, at this stage I am worried about the transmission, after reading and watching a lot of reviews and getting feedback here I think the suspension was sorted the gearbox is better but it still has its shortcomings.

Based on that I will take my chance on the SV.

Few days after we hit the twisties in the Huracan, at a quite relaxed pace, I love the Huracan and no offence to anyone with a Aventador I wouldn't give up my Huracan for a standard A, the Huracan feels telepathic, wired to your brain, to me it's that good of a car, others might feel otherwise and that's ok since that's their opinion.

In short I had very mixed emotions after driving the A I can only hope that the SV is exponentially better, I know the Huracan SL will be a pretty crazy car.

Thanks for the feedback. I can appreciate what you are talking about on the single clutch, but I do feel that the Aventador's single clutch is much improved over anything that is in the Murcis or Gallardos. It has a lot of character on upshifts, and the downshifts with my Kreisseg exhaust are sublime. What model year Aventador did you drive? Was it a coupe or roadster? The suspension on my 2015 feels great, a bit stiffer than the Huracans, but I actually prefer it. The Huracan is a great driving car...my opinion is that it drives more like a Ferrari yet looks like a Lambo. And while it is a beautiful design, it looks too much like a baby Aventador, and therein lies its major flaw. The Aventador (especially the roadster) just dominates it for what I like.

I stopped buying the twin clutch Ferrari's for that exact reason but surprised how well the Huracan performs and again with the SV even today people don't believe the times the SV laid down because their favorite hyper car isn't so hyper.

Ferrari Mclaren Porsche are all the same cars F1 twin clutch steering suspension - if Lambo gets the green light for the SL like they did with the SV buyers will be running to the dealers.

We are a dying breed sort of like the manual NA analog etc. The question is not if the new cars are boring F1 provided that data it's simply a matter of when they won't be produced - get em while you can!

The car I drove was a coupe either a 2014 or 2015, I will have to check for accuracy, they have a roadster but it's brand new and they don't want many miles on it, I will test it around town next week, I mainly want to see how comfortable will the car be for me with the top down.

I loved the downshifts how could you not? But up shifts when your foot is planted on the accelerator definitely disrupt "the flow" and the momentum, in particular in very tight corners at relatively low speed, I can see how along long sweepers with minimum corners this car is a blast but unfortunately they aren't the roads I have access to here. I see the Aventador as more of a GT.

I will probably have to lift before changes, I only had about an hour with the car, I am sure more time is needed to get used to it.

I understand how you feel about the Huracan but I asked myself the question, if I had to go for a drive and had both cars waiting at the front which key would I pick up, my answer now would be the Huracan, I certainly hope the SV will change my mind.

Last night I specced my car, it can now be entered in the LOOM 🙏

Congrats Fortis. What options did you finally go for?

Thank you guys, MHH below are the options I went for, I didn't get the SV sticker, they only do it on one side in black and they didn't want to do it in red for me so I will have it done locally.

Looks great. No radio - to save weight?

Thank you, it should look very nice matte white with matte carbon everywhere including the roof panels.

No idea what's going on with the radio option, I am tempted to eliminate the entire nav system but it might come in handy so I selected it, option PME, I have no idea why it says without radio, I will check tomorrow because I believe it should have radio with navi option selected.

Love the alcantara steering wheel - I should have added rear carbon intake diffuser.

Quick question - I asked for cf matte roof panels and factory denied.

Roof options were matte black paint / gloss carbon fiber / or body color paint. The panels are made of cf but there is no exposed weave unless I chose gloss cf which I thought was odd because there is no gloss cf anywhere on the exterior.

The configurator allowed matte finish exposed carbon fiber for the roof panels, also they mention it in their literature, I didn't see anywhere the body color option, only standard matte black paint, matte finish exposed carbon fiber they call it visible carbon fiber, gloss carbon fiber and carbon composite via ad personam.

I agree, gloss would look weird.

nice! my list says exposed matte carbon roof, but no carbon skin available. I wonder if the US has different options available which doesn't make sense.

so you went with the race buckets I see. they look badass, but I'm worried about the comfort.

That looks awesome Fortis. I agree, red SV sticker to match the interior. Definitely don't delete the NAV for resale purposes.

Thank You for clarifying - makes complete sense.

I was trying to justify composite - the visible carbon fiber roof is the right option especially with your paint selection.
