  1. I've been watching videos from that company for a while; they really do a great job. I really like this house. The video is more talky, less showy, but the house is awesome -
  2. Buying "used" from secondary dealers?
  3. I guess it's St. Patrick's Day... Are you drunk?
  4. I can confirm this, from two other 918 VIPs that I know. Those same 918 VIPs have both been told that there are more 991 RS' coming, FWIW.
  5. $3MM for 18 years in jail after being wrongfully convicted? Really? Speaking of - F that. $2MM per year sounds much more reasonable to me, but what do I know? I do recall there being something in the film about the county's insurance not covering the wrongful conviction suit and there being an explanation for the individuals involved being personally liable.
  6. Am I the only one that didn't find it that compelling? I watched it all, but had no problem usually just watching one episode at a time... Certainly no marathon, missing work, not sleeping for days sort of binges that others seem to be doing. That said, the uncle did it.
  7. Now that's what they call a paradox.
  8. I think bWiLKINS meant Platinum, when he said "loves to buy stuff from other deals and try and sell it for a ridiculous amount more", since they bought the car from SR and are now trying to sell it for a ridiculous amount more Regular SLRs are still struggling to break out, but it will happen eventually. All it will take is Marshall Goldman, CNC or some other large US dealer to buy up 5-6 of them and ask double the current rate... Boom, new market set!
  9. Look familiar? - http://www.srautogroup.com/#/inventory/200...llic-1436293097
  10. That's what the sharks with frickin' laser beams on their heads are for
  11. That is far from the only ultra low-mileage gem at Scotti (if you're into that sort of thing. I wouldn't put too much stock into that asking price though... Goes along nicely with their $800k 400GT, $900k 4k mile Carrera GT, $1.7MM 06 Veyron, etc...
  12. Can't blame the seller though... Lots of these US cars in Canada are being "repatriated" due to the favourable forex / US market prices. His $155 asking price turns into less than $120,000US. Frankly, I'm surprised he's even trying to sell it up here...
  13. Despite the yellow callipers, the brakes on the 993 Turbo S are not ceramics. As mentioned, there were 182 cars for N. America. There are several other 993 Turbo S with similar (or better) mileage for $300k less. Frankly, the 993 Turbo / S isn't that rare and the prices are way out of line. At the price on the PP car, you're starting to talk about some legitimately rare 911s...
  14. "Accommodation Sale" is the term... As-in, the dealer accommodates the sale in order to process taxes, hold trade credits, etc. Super common, and in some states, I know guys that won't do a car deal any other way. I believe that in some states, the dealer may be able to hold the tax credit for you for a period of time, meaning that even if you don't buy something else right now, you can offset the tax on another car in the future.
  15. Keep in mind that the 7 year inclusive maintenance was only on the 2012+ cars; the MY10 & 11s do not have the 7 year maintenance. However, that doesn't mean that you can't add the Power Cube warranty to the earlier cars.
  16. I'm late to the party, but I would like to clarify something regarding the pricing of the car that - I think - explains a lot. LA stated he paid $280k US, in Canada. The CA$ has taken a massive drop against the US$ over the last year. At the time of this thread starting, $280k US = roughly $355 CA... An 8k mile / 12k km out-of-warranty, modified Aventador in Canada has a full, retail ASKING price of ~$399... The numbers are entirely reasonable when looking at it in CA$. FWIW, I can confirm the story behind the Aventador being repo'd, shopped, wholesaled, etc. I imagine the story would have made a lot more sense, and been subject to a lot less scrutiny, if LA originally stated something like "I just bought a '12 8k mile Aventador for $350 CANADIAN... BTW, thanks to the current exchange rates, that's only $280k US... Yeah me!"

    Should've listened.
  18. + a billion (dollars ) I have a friend developing a VR model home platform for the new home construction industry. You can tour the house, change finishings, paint colors, add your own furniture, fcuk, even see what your dog looks like curled up by the fireplace... The surface hasn't even begun to be scratched from a marketing perspective. This industry will be enormous.
  19. Assman has it right. When arranging the PPI, aski if the shop / dealer is willing to act as an intermediary... A sort of escrow. Ask for a copy of the title, front and rear and ensure it's clear / lien-free. Have the car dropped off for the PPI. Once that checks out, have the owner deliver the title to shop. Arrange the bill of sale, payment and for transport to pick the car up in a few days. Once payment hits the sellers account, he notifies the shop and they're clear to release the car when transport arrives. It's not a perfect system, and might require some accommodations on both sides, but if you really don't want to travel, this is essentially the best way to do it.
  20. Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but are you saying your cousin broke some guy's jaw during a BS arrest where the cops were essentially harassing someone because he was "known" to them? I hope that's not the case...
  21. What a terrible, horse-shit list. Inaccurate, incomplete and wrong on so many levels... Exactly what I'd expect from Jalopnik. Idiots. No GT3RS? No GT2RS? No Carrera GT? No C63 Black Series? 458s? Aventadors? New Range Rover? As mentioned, G63?... Could go on and on. R8s have certainly depreciated and probably don't even belong on the list... I'm done now
  22. I'm surprised that between your father's experience and your own, your investments aren't more geared towards stocks and other more active instruments. I didn't know anyone really bought GICs... Is there a reason you're so risk averse? The returns you're seeing barely, if at all, hit preservation levels...
  23. GLWS! More exotic than an XJ220S??? Zonda on the 15 year rule?
  24. That's completely UNTRUE. I know from experience that with a full VIN, you will be able to get the FULL OPTIONS / EQUIPMENT / PACKAGES / COLORS etc from Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, Aston, Bentley, Rolls, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Maserati.... Different manufacturers have different systems to do it, but they can all ID the equipment through the VIN (depending on the age of the vehicle)... You'll have to have someone "run the options" for you, usually sales and service guys can do this... If the car's at a dealership, simply ask them to "run the VIN" and get you a full options list.
