Godzilla 2014

Wondering if anyone has seen this and thoughts? Good, bad, great, etc...? The 2000 remake I thought was "okay," but way too Hollywood in many ways IMO.

I think you should elaborate and tell us in complete detail what all you didn't like about it. I'm skeptical.

saw it 2 days ago. I gave it a weak 6 out of 10. Acting was horrible, too long. It sucked IMO. I went with 10 people 5 kids 5 adults all hated it.

Storyline is fine but lousy acting and bad cinematography. Movies nowadays depend way too much on CG. The Godzilla in both the 2000 and this film is a far cry from the original one. The 2000 one was just a giant angry lizard and this one is way too big and fat. 350metres? Come on!

 

Agree with the 6/10 score.

Love or hate i guess....i personally liked it alot and would watch it again...but i know of people who liked and hated it....lol

 

most people who hated it watched Spiderman 2 and are comparing both..i haven't watched Spiderman..so im not too sure..

the graphics were awesome...acting was pretty horrible though lol...

spiderman 2 was very good , funny good story and good acting 8/10

Horrible Horrible Horrible! I am serious when I say one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Stupid plot, bad acting, too long since it drags on and a lot of dots in the story just not connected. I almost walked out

Overall a decent monster movie if not a particularly entertaining one. The thing that really pissed me off was how every time a monster battle was about to happen, they cut back to the boring human stuff and only come back after the fight was finished. Yeah don't even bother putting any actual monster action in a monster movie. Lets just let the audience fill in the blanks. And the bat- mantis thingys took up way too much screen time, with Godzilla getting only several cameo appearances in a movie titled after him.

Not to mention all three places I visit often or live at got demolished.. Philippines, hawaii and vegas... I think the only hotel/casino that didn't get wrecked was the Rio. so I'm assuming palms was safe.. Ceasars paris.. basically everything right in the middle of the blvd.. got destroyed..

 

And the giant nuclear cockroaches.. wtf is up with the EMP blasts? I'm not sure how effective that would be against other super monsters that aren't running on batterys. Seemed like Godzilla's super blast was pretty specific on killing giant cockroaches. I'd just wait for the Xmen this week. looking forward to that!

It was OK. Needed more fight scenes and Godzilla in general. I want to see a Godzilla + Pacific Rim mashup. That would be fun.

Well...I guess I will wait for the dvd of this one...

guess i'm the minority in this thread because i liked the film. looking forward to a sequel.
