Pro-life conservatives who do not want their tax dollars going to fund overseas abortions.

What do you mean overseas? Aren't they trying to shut it down right here in the US?

Yes, but they can't do that at the moment, so they try to limit it in every other way that they can, including overseas funding. No different than the Left with gun control.

Does it have to do with them trying to ban abortions? or more so them pulling US Tax dollars out of abortions in other countries (that have literally no impact on us and shouldn't have US tax dollars thrown at it.)

Personally, im against abortion, but I don't see how any truly fiscal conservative wouldn't be for it, as its a lot cheaper then raising an unwanted child in the system.....

Looks like the xl pipeline is on again. Native americans prepare to get the shaft!!

I dont think the pipeline itself is going to give them the shaft. More so that they were given land to live on and now its being taken away again when big oil wants to build a pipeline.

I heard from people that were on the project building the pipeline. That they had a deal in place to go through tribal land, then the tribe said they wanted double the amount. So they said, they will just avoid tribal land all together. Then thats when everything blew up. I have friends who have the pipeline on their property, they were paid very well.

But that's exactly what's happening after this, either unwanted child (worth his/her life ofcourse) having it rough as an unwanted baby or in bad situation OR going on "family holiday" and coming back without child.

I think the feeling there is more of US tax dollars going overseas (and domestically) for services people could be paying for themselves. It's the smaller government agenda more so at play vs the abortion issue... Why should we all pay for other people's condoms, birth control pills, etc. argument. I personally don't agree with abortion, but I don't think the government has the right to tell you that you can't get one. But I'm also opposed to my tax dollars going to pay for someone else to go have one. Though technically PP doesn't do abortion services....but it's a bit of a huge grey area.

I've heard similar...and it does make total sense. Of course, most people never follow the money.

Tribal land was always a bullshit excuse...how many third-rate casinos have been built on "sacred" tribal land. Take a drive through New Mexico, fcuking dime a dozen.

I'll play kinnsella for a minute:

http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/201...cking_most.html

Curious to hear the other side of this argument....I'm sure there's more to it than what's being said here, just like "all" Muslims are terrorists, and "all" Mexicans are rapists...

Trump to Sign Temporary Immigration Ban Targeting Muslims and Blocking Most Refugees

If you thought, or perhaps just hoped, Donald Trump’s gnarled nastiness on the campaign trail would be softened by the hushed reverence of the White House, five days into real life under Trump it’s pretty clear the scowl and the bark are here to stay. What’s worse is that at every crossroads of the campaign Trump opted to delve deeper into the political darkness of division and now he’s systematically enshrining our worst collective demons into law. Next up appears to be Trump’s call to block many Muslim immigrants and refugees from entering the country.

From Reuters:

U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to sign several executive orders on Wednesday restricting immigration from Syria and six other Middle Eastern or African countries, according to several congressional aides and immigration experts briefed on the matter. In addition to Syria, Trump's orders are expected to temporarily restrict access to the United States for most refugees. Another order will block visas from being issued to Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen, said the aides and experts, who asked not to be identified. Trump's restrictions on refugees are likely to include a multi-month ban on admissions from all countries until the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security can increase the intensity of the vetting process.

This is actually a scaled-back version of Trump’s original, somehow more noxious plan in which he called for a “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States” on the campaign trail in Dec. 2015.

Making the market great again! :eusa_dance:

The market has reacted well since he became president-elect. Before the election the Fear Greed Index was Extreme Fear. Today it is Greed. S&P almost 5% above 125 day average.

There's the FACTS and then there's the article BIAS:

Fact: Trump plans to restrict immigration from Syria and six other Middle Eastern or African countries

Bias: Trump is targeting Muslims

Fact: President Donald Trump is set to announce plans to expedite construction of a wall along the Mexican border, and is preparing orders that ban people from countries deemed a terror risk from entering the U.S. as well as suspend the U.S. refugee program.

Bias: Trump hates Mexicans and is xenophobic

It's liberal outrage 101: Anything we don't like is a hate or phobia. The fact is, Trump ran on the platform of BORDER SECURITY and IMMIGRATION POLICY OVERHAUL. These things don't have anything to do with race or religion, but with security threats and infrastructure stress caused by ILLEGAL immigration. If 9.5 out of 10 terror attacks are carried out by people of certain countries, it's not racism it's a security fact.

Please don't.

As many of you over the years have noted, I don't play well with others and I am more than capable of speaking for myself.

I am an immigrant and have no problem restricting immigration from ALL hell holes. Half the people I grew up with (NI), I wouldn't let in here. The southern wall is a whistle call, but if it is turned into an infrastructure project, Fcuk it government wastes money everywhere I am not going to nitpick a rounding error.

Of course you are.

Just wanted to introduce an opposing viewpoint to our group. :icon_thumleft:

Nobody anywhere will listen to anyone. We're all yelling past each other these days, debates, arguments, facts are a thing of the past. If someone has an opinion, it's gospel to him, and doesn't want to hear anything contradictory no matter what. Sad times.

Yes, it is interesting how Trump is somehow managing to both please the unions and please the business community. Usually one can't do both because usually doing so means policies that hurt one to help the other.
