  1. Congrats and enjoy for many miles in the best of health!! That is one sexy beast! Absolutely love the color!
  2. Looks great as-is! Thanks for the detail - it was from curiosity (not intended as criticism)!
  3. Very nice! Looks super clean. Lately I've been seeing more and more restored Z cars (not Fairlady - just other Z like 280Z). Congrats on the highly complimentary write up! What is the story with the wheels? Period correct? Wildwood big brakes?
  4. RIP Just watched an interview with his son Cooper about the roller-coaster situation with the board, and how he was ousted and has triumphantly returned to refresh the brand and bring it into the future. Mr. Hefner was an amazing pioneer.
  5. Welcome! Looking forward to hearing some stories once you get some time with the car! Enjoy!!
  6. Sorry for your losses. Congrats on your determination and resilience.
  7. get new boss lady?? J/K - probably MUCH cheaper to keep boss lady and play by "rules" Good luck with your quest!
  8. Doc_K - when you say "fired" - you don't mean terminated from the Navy? You said they'd be sent to a desk job. In my experience (corporate) when you're "fired" you are terminated from the company. When you are demoted you might go from being in a higher responsibility position to something lower ranked. Are you saying whomever was in command will be demoted? So they still keep their benefits and will receive an honorable discharge, and still get paid - but will have the "shame" (an assumption on my part) of being demoted to a lower status job. Do they keep their rank even if they are demoted? If this happened because of hacking - what does that say about the security of military secrets, weapons, etc? If someone can hack into the controls of a war ship - what else is at risk? Geez....
  9. catching a glimpse of Fortis - and I'd be remiss if I didn't include Cappy!! :lol2: Nice photos Kerplop!
  10. I don't understand all the mania surrounding this. I can see some appeal, but people are saying its the most incredible sight ever seen, the most memorable event of their life, etc... It's cool but not THAT cool...
  11. If you turn off stereo and never use it - does the screen stay dark when you put car in reverse? I did the same thing with mine (never ever listened to radio) but then I didn't have backup cam unless I turned it back on. I asked if they could reprogram car so radio didn't come on upon start-up. Was told no. Since I wanted back-up cam I just left radio on, but would hit mute (quick push of volume button) as soon as car was started. And turning off A/C or HVAC - yes - you've gotta do it every time you start the car. The default is for everything on (maybe you can train your key as previously mentioned). The only time I turn off A/C is on the track, or on a somewhat cool day with windows down. I'll never understand having the radio come on when the car starts. The GT4 and GT3RS are the same way. Annoying.
  12. With the A/C - did you try: Turning the temp as low as possible and then keep going till you see "OFF" Or Turning the fan as low as possible and then keep going till you see "OFF"
  13. Sorry for your loss. RIP to your Dad
  14. I would be surprised if they don't make an RS 991.2

  16. Don't they all "lie"? If not "lie" - then at least tweak a bit in specific preparation for THAT circuit which is unlike anywhere else? I would think ride height is adjusted, suspension adjusted at the very least before testing on the 'Ring. Yes - GT2RS probably "massaged" for boost. And suspension adjustment would be my guess after experiencing how much the car bottoms out under hard loading. Was told by race engineer (has 24 Hour LeMans wins to his credit) that Porsche sells completely different suspension for cars going to the Nordschleife with higher ride height. Wouldn't other manufacturers do the same? They must increase ride height. In most cases it's the front splitter that scrapes but depending on suspension set up there may be other parts underneath bottoming out (which is friction which means loss of speed not to mention unwelcome wear). These lap times are still an amazing accomplishment and the fact that the Performante performed well lends credibility to Lamborghini's engineering. Clearly it's by far the best looking car to achieve an extremely fast lap time. IMO nothing else comes close.
  17. This pulled into the parking lot where we paddocked at the Nordschleife. First one I've seen in the "wild". Drew a TON of attention. Any update on your car LPDADDY?
  18. A few pics from the GT2 on display at the WEC a couple weeks ago. Doesn't really do anything for me....
  19. How are plates secured/protected? Are they frequently stolen off cars? I assume they couldn't be put into use , but used for garage art...
  20. Congrats! Wow! Talk about PERSEVERANCE!! Impressive! Must feel like an amazing achievement! It's been fun following your journey! Thanks for sharing
