Wait... Is this OUR guy???? WTF?

I saw Rob posted it the other day on FB and have no idea who he was talking about...since i didnt know Peak's name was Ray..

now i opened this thread...this is really sad....i remember the last time i saw his thread was about him collecting his LP700 during christmas.... :crybaby2: and each time he opens a thread its always awesome to see his cars...they all look great and tastefully done up....this is really tragic.

RIP Ray...

A very unfortunate loss at a young age of 38. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones. I will miss his posts. God Speed Ray!

wow I didn't realize he was my age. this really makes you think when you do crazy things with cars/bikes etc. it can happen to anyone at anytime. live life to the fullest but also use your head and best judgement.

I really feel for his family, RIP

Awhile back we all had a conversation about limiting risk.

they say things can happen while even crossing a street, but some thing like this really makes you think about everything dangerous. my buddy has a older single engine prop plane and he always asks me to fly. he just sent me this pic yesterday, now im like no freakin way.

Go for it Mac! You have a better chance getting hurt in the McLaren then in his plane. If you've never been up in a plane like that it is amazing. I've got a buddy with one and I won't think twice about going up with him or my kids. It is amazing!!!

really, I thought those single prop planes weren't to safe. I did hear it was a cool experience.

this whole thing with peak just scares the crap out of me. but I guess anything can happen when you walk out the front door.

So short story about Ray...

I'm at a New Years party in south Florida at a high end house party. This guy is one of those rich hunter guys who has traveled the world and has all kinds of different folks at his place partying it up.

I'm talking to one guy from Canada who is a independent contractor for Exxon-mobil and he is bragging about how much money he charges them and he makes when he is in the deep blizzard weather extracting oil from some fields or pipes. After half a dozen drinks and listening to this interesting character, everyone is surrounded and listening to our conversation as I hear oil stories of greatness and disbelief....

So I ask him if he has ever heard of PEAK and Ray Hofman, this guy looks at me like I was nuts!!!! He said of course I know who Ray is, he is the man! Everyone knows him, his company is amazing and in the industry he is well known. He went on telling me about Ray and his company.

Needless to say, I was talking to some random guy at a party who looked up to Ray as a legend in the oil industry. Put a smile on my face just hearing how small of a world it is when your talking about good people!

Thanks. Gonna watch it today.

He lived the ultimate life it seems like, and from all the stories you hear it seems like he was a great/humble/kind guy and the $$ didn't go to his head. Too bad I never got to meet him. I can't imagine how he did it all. All the cars, the events he went to, learned to fly, and had time for his (very successful) company and family. It seems he made the most out of every minute. RIP Ray.
